My favorite thing about Hanoi is how much nature it has--lakes, trees, river views too. I never get tired of walking around Hanoi, even though the sidewalks are very small in some areas.
Brings back good memories 🙂 Hanoi is such a beautiful city, with the lake in the center being a perfect place for an evening walk. I can definitely recommend it. Plus, Halong Bay is just around the corner! 👍
I have been in Hanoi 5 years ago. We like the hop on hop off bus very much. And yes the trafic works with all this motobikes. We traveled to Nhin Bhin, very cold in march then to Hue and Hoi An

There is a metro line called Cat Linh Ha Dong opening in Hanoi in 2021, which is the first metro line in Vietnam. I hope you go there .One question:Will you come to the South and visit Ho Chi Minh City?That is the largest city in Vietnam🤩

Hanoi is better at New Hanoi and also tourist visa than Thailand.Vietnam might win in the end against Thailand.I know infrastructure of trains is lacking in Vietnam compared Thailand.6 month visa that you can get so easily in Vietnam compared to Thailand's multiple entry visa which requires so much cash is easier.Coffee and dragon fruits are better of quality than in Thailand.Artificial beach is smart idea compared to Bangkok.Yes only Russians gets 3 months visa free in Thailand from Western countries.So Vietnam is cheaper and better

We did not have time to try the Metro, we will visit Ho Chi Minh City for sure.
Hanoi has two old quarters. Hoan Kiem’s old quarter and Ba Dinh’s Old Quarter. The latter is a bit more posh and less crowded.

I think Hanoi is easier, because the roads are smaller then in Bangkok.

I think it is not important who is better. I think all South East Asian countries should work together and not worry about who is better.
