    Pour in room temperature water and coffee grounds, toggle the dial to allow the KUKU Maker to heat the water inside and begin brewing coffee.
    Please note that the noise coming from our engineering prototype is “a bit louder” than we’d like. 😅This is mainly due to two reasons. 1. This noise comes mainly from the button used to start the extraction rather than the motor, this is just our engineering prototype and there are still some issues with the installation of the button. 2. The machining of the parts is still a bit “immature”. But don’t worry about that, as we fine tune the machining precision, it’ll sound just as good as those coffee grinders. Trust us, we've got heaps of experience dealing with motor noise.

    I hope james hoffman gets hands on this, definitely interesting machine

    Is a two channel oscilloscope sufficient for this, or do I need the full four channels for proper extraction?

    I'm intrigued by the spin technique, esprecially

    This is an extremely interesting design. Unfortunately that shot doesn't LOOK like great espresso, though I could be wrong.

      From what I understand, the actual extraction on a brewer like this will take place in those 90 seconds leading up to the visible coffee drip you see. I would think of this as a French press with a centrifugal filter which SHOULD yield higher extraction & strength. You’re only seeing the few seconds of water leaving the brewer - no real comparison to an espresso machine, but I would guess it’s quite capable of delivering “espresso like” qualities. The downside for me are time and noise. Looking forward to see hours the noise is improved in the future.

      @@JustinSmay Hello friend, the noise has been optimized to be the same of that on a grinder. Besides, the noise will be continuously fine-tuned in the future, the final unit will be much quieter. Welcome to check the video of the noise optimization test. ua-cam.com/video/yJhCCfcjIS4/v-deo.htmlsi=idWIdu6yG4YvaTQq

    I am a backer - however i need to ask why was the crema is so thin on the shot pulled compared to conventional home espresso machine

    • @jesperjnsson6268
      @jesperjnsson6268 6 місяців тому +1

      Because this machine only produces simulated espresso akin to pod or capsule-machines. There are ways to "fake" even good looking crema, but without the proper pressure, brew ratio, timing, temperature etc. you simply cannot brew espresso.

    • @mooriginal
      @mooriginal 6 місяців тому

      @@jesperjnsson6268 I do see your point about the crema - and yes the crema on a Nespresso is very fake as its so thick and created by trick process of centrifugal process of brew process. But i dont agree about the rest. They are obviously producing a lot of espresso through Kuku. Thats a fact. And using the Nespresso way of doing things maybe not the done way a coffee nerd would expect coffee to be but as you can see from the reviews by James Hoffman - he says Nespresso style coffee its still good coffee. I do feel KuKu does need more western reviewers to get the unit but they will be backed before that happens anyways.

    My worry is the 2 minute time from beginning to end of the shot. Could be an interesting concept but needs to heat quicker? Could be viable in a cafe in the future…

    I love the looks and size. I dont like how loud or how long it actually takes to brew. Definitely not the machine for me

      Hello friend, the noise has been optimized and we have made some notable progress on it. Welcome to check out the Noise Optimization Test video here. ua-cam.com/video/yJhCCfcjIS4/v-deo.htmlsi=cIgCPD2wg4XLcOei. And it will be continuously fine-tuned, the mass-produced units will be even quieter than what you see in the current video.

    It doesn’t seem any louder than a typical Nespresso machine…and seems like it produces this type of coffee with the same kind of mechanics. The process seems a bit long though. I mean, I’m pretty happy with my 20 bar espresso machine too. It seems well constructed though and professionally made. Also, Seems like too many steps to crank out what is tantamount to a double espresso.

      Hello friend, there will be a dual spout as the add-on option. With it, you can easily brew double espresso at once.

    So it's gonna take around 6 to 7 minutes to pull two espressos, right?

    • @KUKU_HUB_
      @KUKU_HUB_  7 місяців тому +1

      Hello friend, KUKU Maker allows to pull multiple shots at one time. It's able to pour in up to 40g of coffee grounds and 300ml of water at one time, you can also adjust the grounds to water ratio according to the desired requirements and coffee strength. It takes about 3 minutes to heat 100ml water to 100°C.

      Seen a lot of people mention this and they seem to avoid the question when asked.
      They have recently posted a video explaining the lack of crema.
      Basically this isn't making espresso at all it's making what they call "high extraction coffee!"
      Hold onto your money
