Tulum seaweed issue: Is it still worth it? Our family vacation in Tulum, Mexico | 2019

- Our Mexico vlog is here! We spent 8 days in Quintana Roo, exploring the cenotes around Tulum, Mayan ruins, Cancun's beaches and eating alllll the tacos.
We’ve had a lot of questions so far about our family holiday to Tulum, particularly because the sargassum seaweed issue down the Mayan riviera is making many beaches unswimmable right now. 😢 It’s a real shame, but even more so for the sea life trying to survive in seaweed that thick!
We give an honest look at the conditions in this vlog and take you along for the ride as we explore clearer beaches further north in Cancun, lots of cenotes (which you guys know we fell in love with), swim with turtles 🐢, and explore Mayan ruins like Cobá (pictured above), climbing with Leo strapped on Eric’s back... if you were wondering how we climbed Cobá with Leo, this will give you lots of insight!
We 🧡 Mexico, and if you watch this video, you'll see why.
Hitchhike along for the ride with us!

If you don’t want any seaweed, then I suggest you visit Tulum from September-May. The summer is when all the seaweed comes in. Normally the water is crystal clear and turquoise blue.
I love you guys and the way you share. But what are you doing now? I don't see any new....videos....
Very beautiful!
Mind sharing your car rental experience / company you went with
West facing beaches are clear. Conzumel
Great video and beautiful family vacation! Perfect 30th birthday trip! Love love love
Aww thanks guys, and thanks for watching! My 30th couldn't have been better. Loved every minute of being in Mexico, so it really felt like a birthday week! :) xxx
That underwater cave looks like so much fun, kids are happy!
The seaweed is toxic to the skin also. So so glad I was there in the early 90s when Tulum was so beautiful. So sad
Nice video! Really nice. Congrats
Akumal is still good for swimming and just outside of Tulum
Akumal public beach has had so much sargassum seaweed, piled almost waist high some days on the shoreline... maybe you're talking about the private beaches around Akumal?
Omg i loved this video! What is the name of the cenote that is shown in the beginning ?
The transition from pool to Cenote goes into a small one called Cenote Carwash

Im looking for a seaweed update. Not a family vacation video. Althoigh cute but not as titled. UGH
It literally says "Our family vacation" in the title. I'm not sure how you felt this was 'not as titled'?
@@DareListFamily I'm sorry. The title above does say is.it worth it. Seaweed update. Maybe it was the search engine. Wish you.could have seen it in 1990's it was pristine. No people. Bungalows for $35 a day or less. There were six places to stay on 65 miles of beach. All gone. I did enjoy the family video!
@@thomasbrown5705 was you able to find an update, I looked for a webcam and the only one I could find was off line.
@@yvonnelucas8038 the hotels do not want you to know. A client just returned and said it's horrible.
@@thomasbrown5705 thank you so much! Maybe it will be gone next yr!
how did you stay there and not be scared about the gangs and ugliness of rumours of people being murdered etc. I am scared to travel to places like Mexico or Jamaica, with no friends or family for protection..you guys are brave!
There are some parts of Mexico that are unsafe, but the well-touristed areas like Cancun and Tulum are generally safe. We never felt unsafe at all.
How beautiful! Love this!
Thanks for the Video! We are planning on taking our three year old with us and renting a car. Did you guys take your own car seat or got it with you rental car? Appreciate any details you can provide :)
We took our own car seat since it's free to take on the airlines. We prefer using our own seat where we can for safety!
Wonderful to see Leo's confidence in the water go from not a lot, to no fear, in such a short period. :-) Great to see you guys again!
Yep, he spent so much time in pools, the ocean and cenotes that week he really did become a little fish! Thank you for watching! :D
when is the next video coming out?
Really good video guys. I subscribed after watching your van tour, good work and nice editing in the water shot
Thanks Daniel, so glad you enjoyed it! It's our first video in 6 months, and even though some of those underwater sequences aren't perfect (multitasking to make sure our kid doesn't sink! haha) we're pretty happy with it. :)
