I didn't realize this was Kor until that image of the classically trained musician himself was shown and made me do a double back. Threw me for a loop as a spilling the milk fan
Dude, I loved this video, I got sooo pumped when you brought up Carmen. Smiling throughout the video. Would have loved to hear more but totally understand time. Great stuff man and thanks for the shout out! :D
Great video! I love the Tatami Galaxy score. I haven't thought about it much in terms of theory, but it just sounds so beautiful and is a huge part of why I consider The Tatami Galaxy to be a masterpiece. I also love Michiru Oshima's scores for Bloom into You and Night is Short, Walk on Girl. They're just so gentle in some way. I love the instrumentation and the tone of the strings.
Michiru Oshima has over time edged their way into my all-time favorite anime composer slot, I just love all their scores so much. Still need to finish Bloom into You, but what I heard of the soundtrack was fantastic.
this is such a good analysis I'm blown away with the detail you put into it!! im especially glad to hear the Carmen similarities in Ozu's themes, it kind of reminds me of an OST in Kaguya-sama S2 (Shin'en to Fuanan or something) when Kaguya threatens Miko to drop out of the election race and there's this malicious-sounding clarinet and strings going on at the background. thank you also for enlightening us about Tatami Galaxy's composer, Michiru Oshima!! super cool she created concert pieces for *the* Hillary Hahn!
An insanely detailed musical analysis, I didn't know that I needed this
Thank you! Always glad to fill the niche no one knew they wanted ;)

Ozu's theme is my favorite and I never noticed that it sounds like Carmen!

based on the video title I didn't realize this was going to be a musical analysis, but it's a welcome surprise. Great essay!
Great analysis! I'm so glad someone took the time to look at this amazing OST. Subscribed.
Found this really late, but excellent analysis. I used to play piano but I never learned all the musical structure you revealed to me here.
Glad im not the only one who notices how thoughtful the ost of this show was.

Thank you! I'll do my best.
your welcome, also I checked out "that music nerd"'s channel, it's great, thanks
Loved hearing this analysis! Tatami Galaxy has one of my favorite soundtracks, and I for one eagerly anticipate that song-by-song breakdown. ;)
Amazing analysis. Will you do Mind Game, Kaiba, Ping Pong/Devilman crybaby? All by the same director and I think they're all great in their own ways.
I definitely want to cover more of his stuff in the future! I love Yuasa's style.
I recommend Haibane renmei & texhnolyze two of the best anime soundtracks and shows out there
Never mind, Just checked your channel
