1984 Max Harvey Auckland Cup - Alexandra Park, Auckland: Enterprise

After being back on the fence for most of the trip, Peter Wolfenden moved Enterprise into the clear with 600 metres to run and he was just too strong for the ever-consistent Our Mana (Colin de Filippi) with Dillon Dale (Don Dwyer) running on strongly for third money after breaking at the start. Win favourite Hilarious Guest (Robert Cameron) saw daylight far too late and was next in with two of the less fancied runners, Jilaire's Chance (Derek Jones) and Joy Boy (Trevor Thomas), next to cross the line.
Enterprise ran the 2700 metres in 3:27.4 (2:3.6 mile rate).
