ShadowCrystallux!!!! Hahaha i loved your El-Cid running around with a gazillion knights chasing you. Awesome the way you saved Denia was cool. If you dont manage to save Denia, then you have hordes of paladins, champions, rams, onagers and trebs who will be on your ass. That makes it insanely difficult to save the wonder. I saved Denia by building a Gate/Wall next to the Berenguer's Gate (by doubling it) and stopping the initial Berenguer's attack. The AI doesn't expect this behavior and just stops. Then, you can destroy locked Denia's Gate (change a diplomacy with Denia to enemy for a short time), and now you have got an open map to peacefully boom and enjoy! The initial army of Purple was scary, but you can Cheese it! :)
Years ago I played this with cheats on. I used the cheat where every building and units would instantly be built or trained. When I arrived at Valencia I was shocked to see that the Wonder was instantly built, more so, I won in an instant that I don't even know the reason why... 😆😆
why spend the resources on imperial age and cavaliers when you can steal the enemy's? Clever strategy! Thanks for the video. You can also choose to delay the attack and save (some of) your base in denia by walling off the front and west entrance. This will increase the time of their trebs to start attacking, and they will also leave a couple more buildings alive bc of AI pathing. If you wall off the gate after the cliffs, they will then go the long way back around, giving you plenty of time to convert some champions and cavaliers to fend them off when they inevitably attack the middle/north sides. The wall off of the southern bridge also allows you to focus almost all of your defenses on the north side, leaving you to focus on the wonder. (some, however, will still go for the middle where the castle is). You will have a small defense force for the majority of this map so this is really in your best interest, since its not optimal to split a small force around 3 key defense areas. Also, make two missionaries in Denia, then break them into groups of two in your control groups. This gives you much more flexibility in conversions, while still converting the enemy fairly quickly (esp after the castle age unique tech)
@@ShadowCrystallux I did this mission last night. It was so hard! The monks did help convert a few of the soldiers. I find where you build a castle helps attract their attack force in a different direction. Probably something to do with the AI. I was lucky though. I noticed the time I did the mission, I wasn’t attacked as much as every other time I failed.
01:20 - Gameplay Starts
03:00 - Defending Denia
05:30 - Arrival in Valencia
06:00 - Defend Valencia
23:50 - Victory!
I used your monk strategy to beat it in hard mode, thanks for the video man!
Glad it helped!

That's genius with the double gate 11, it is so much easier to complete this mission with that initial army delayed or destroyed :)
Great playthrough! Thanks!

I think it's Aegis or something right? Your story gave me a chuckle. Thanks for sharing!
Woah, tried 3 times doing this mission. I didn't even think that monks could play a major role, thanks for the video!!
Yeah, using the Persian's Elephants against them really helps in winning this mission imo!

Thank you! I love using Monks like this 😅
You made that look easy.
Thanks! It probably makes up for some of the missions I made look more difficult 11
