Which Civ has the best Condottiero? | Age of Empire 2

- The team bonus of the Italians is providing availability of the Condottiero through the barracks. So today we are going to take a look at the Condottiero and the different stats it receives through different civs. So first thing first we must find which civs have bonuses, besides the Italians, that can affect the Condottiero . Let's take a look. Before we find the most effective bonuses, here are some mentions that don't have such an impact on the Condottiero and we are not going to include them in our comparison.

to be honest for their use i rather have celt bonus so they can close up the distance with the enemy handcanon quickly
Most of the these bonuses are situational. That means that you're strategy works fine if you are good with micro. And true sometimes getting faster on the enemy is more important

I think druzhina should be in 3rd place , it loses to Goth and aztic bonus but it's better than armenian ,teutons and viking bonuses
It's just a test, in real gaming many factor can play their part. Including what you suggest
I like the tests though I feel like Condo vs Condo is rarely ever happening so kinda useless. I'd rather see condos vs. knights in addition to condos vs. arbs since those are the two most common units on multiplayer by far.
Also having a percentage of units and hp left at the end of the test is much more meaningful than numbers from a single test. Not only does it not account for multiple weak units over fewer units at full health, it also treats individual condos with strong bonuses the same as (in this case) weak Goth condos that aren't even fully upgraded.
In the most recent video I use health bars and everything in order to be seen the stats after a battle. Although I don't agree with it 100% but it is requested by few people, I will include it in the tests.

Economical bonus with equal resources means more units for Goths and in these specific tests while the other civs get 12 Condos, the Goths get 6 more, 18 in total.

Ahh ok. So you compared same expensive cost. I thought it was same unit number. So ok more units for goths because the total resources needed. Ty for explaining mate

Noticed that Italians barely even get a mention, even with their UT providing +1/1 armor. Also missed Portuguese gold discount as a bonus.
Civs most likely to use Condos (I think): Italians (only civ to have them in 1v1, and a UT benefits them), Goths (discount is very helpful and extremely potent in early imp; also don't need many techs to make them viable, but are missing the last armor upgrade. Missing supplies means that they aren't competing as much with champions), Dravidians (Condos instantly become their best raiding unit, as their cavalry are extremely lackluster. Wootz steel also effectively provides +3-5 damage, putting them on par with Aztec condos). Malians can use them as an excellent raiding unit (though champskarls are cheaper and usually do the job well enough). A few other civs might use them while tech switching into infantry (Romans are notable, as they don't have supplies to make their Legionaries cheaper and doubled infantry armor makes the tech switch into condos cheaper, as are Malay with their free infantry armor techs).
Most infantry civs tend to prefer using their own infantry over condos (champions are slightly stronger and cheaper, but slower, and several infantry UUs are pretty strong), and condos also tend to compete with hussars/cavaliers as a speedy melee unit (hussars as a trash unit are much more spammable, and cavaliers are just plain stronger and more pop-efficient).
I mention in the first few seconds that I am not going to mention Italians since I am talking about their team bonus.
Now about the rest, you make some good points and I would add that maybe condottiero is also useful to civs that lack champions or in general have incomplete militia line.
Condos can be goid for Persians as Champion substitute.

Reminds me about that multiplayer strat on arena that's caused the ban of slinging to players on ages up from tournaments which is an Italian and a Goth player teaming up, slinging the Goth player to imp so the Goth can power out Condos with a siege tower super quickly.
I used to do that😅 I didn't know it was banned at some point
I don't get why the slavs get such a low score, their upgrade is just better than the aztec one and in massed battles better than the japanese without taking the cost of the uprgrade in account. Also wotz steel is an upgrade compared to the aztec bonus against anything with more than 4 armor so they would have performed as well in the tournament and even better against the teutons
I did some testing if screen and I tried to present the best results. But as you correctly point out, the Slavs and Japanese can work great with micro, I mean in real games.
For albalester test looking at the remaining health percentage compared to total full health of the condottiere armies would be a better calculation tactic

You actually have a pretty good voice! It's a little hard to understand at times, but you have genuinely good pronunciation considering English is not your native language. Your videos are definitely improved by using your own voice.

@@DemonAgeOfEmpires2-wf8lv The one other thing I do suggest is to include real captions instead of auto-generated ones, in case people can't understand your accent. That might be a little time-consuming, but I think people will appreciate it. I know I would.
@@SvanTowerMan maybe in the future, for now it too time consuming to do it. I mean I might need 1 extra hour of editing. But I will keep in mind as I would like that too.
For the third place to condottiero vs condottiero, Armenians should be clear 3rd position since they ve more hp than Vikings
Personally I prefer Armenian condos too from viking ones.

Everyone can have a different ranking but you must stay logical with yourself.
- Aztecs => 8/10. Not 10 because they have no more armor nor HP
Strange but ok.
- Goths => 10/10. They lack the last armor...
Also the pathing is awful. Teutons end with 6 condotierri against the arbalesters whereas the Aztecs end with 5. But the Teutonic condotierri kill an arbalester in 4 hits when the Aztec one kills it in 3. Aztecs are better than the Teutons.
Goths don’t have to be better unit to unit because they have many more units, which makes them better as a whole

They get more units with equal resources.
