    Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wa was born and bred in the countryside.
    He has stayed true to his upbringing to date and lives a simple life in the very village that raised him in Kikuyu, without the opulence often associated with Kenyan politicians.
    Ichung’wa, who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, recently spoke to the Nation about family and career.

    Inspiring,on the economic hustle.But there is a big disconnect, between his well schooled background, and his political practice.

    55k in 2002 are 55k in 2020 are two completely different figures. I tend to think it was slightly easier for guys born in the 80s.

    • @pip_rake
      @pip_rake 3 роки тому +2

      Not really. We wasted time on knowledge that was obsolete. At least you guys know what works from our failure. Again we wasted more time looking for work that was never available matching our graduation numbers.

    • @limukiikamathi8162
      @limukiikamathi8162 3 роки тому +2

      @@pip_rake I am basically looking at it from a value for money point of view, inflationary pressures over time, current unemployment rates, increasingly crazy number of graduates by year over time. I meant what someone earning 55k or 180k in 2002 was able to do is probably much more than what the same amount can do today. Also I am appreciative of the fact that there are still more opportunities today presented to us by changing times, technology, new ideas, ways of thinking information and all that. The point o was driving is that anyone who had such an opportunity in the early 2000s and seized it must have been able to do so much.

      @@limukiikamathi8162 yes, i agree. However the education was also out of reach for many too. Over time education becomes more easily accessible but opportunities shrink the same way. I can say he was among the lucky ones
