Summary of Video:-
As per Hadith of Wael ibn Hujur, he saw the prophet (PBUH) pray with his index finger moving up and down in its place while making dua with it.
As per Hadith of Nafei, the slave boy of Abdullah bin Umar ibn Al-khattab (the Son of Umar RA), used to point out with his finger fixed and used to stare at it through out the sitting while doing tashahhud (duruud shareef complete) till the ending Salaam.
As per another Hadith by Wael ibn Hujur, also collected by Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, he had seen the Prophet (PBUH) pointed with his index finger in the prayer. he saw the sahabi pray, and he saw their fingers moving up and down, beneath their shawl that covered up their full body due to the cold weather ( The cold of Madinah munawwarah is intense).
So the Salafis and Hadith people (and some well studied hanbalis) and those who follow the Quran and sunnah. They follow either of the 2 options :- 1) Keep finger raised thru out the tashahhud and keep your stare fixed at your finger. 2) Keep finger pointed thru out and lightly move it up and down as you make tashahhud and duas till you ending Salam.
The other opinions of the 4 Madhabs on this topic are as below:-
Hanafi Madhab:- Raise finger only when saying Ashadu An La illaha (and fold back finger ) and continue saying Illa Allah.
Shafei Madhab:- Raise finger only when saying Illa Allah. Ashadu An La illaha (raise finger when saying Illa Allah).
Hanbali Madhab:- Every time you say Allah or mention Allahs name during tashahhud, you raise your finger. (So the finger get wiggled up and down pretty often until you give the salaam).
Maliki Madhab:- Move Tashahhud finger sideways (right to left). You can see people pray like that in North Africa.
Summary, these are ijtihadi issues. And the evidences are laid out in front of you. You can choose based on what appears more correct to you. This Imam (Dr. Salah) prefers the safe option of the salaf 1) Keep finger raised thru out the tashahhud and keep your stare at your finger (As per Hadith of Nafei).
Other imams may choose the detailed and authentic narration of Wael ibn hujur and move it up and down 2) Keep finger pointed thru out and lightly move it up and down as you make tashahhud and duas till you ending Salam. (like the Shaikh Assim Al-Hakeem).
Both are sound and legit.

@D M khan this is thought of Imam Ebu Hanifa and it’s not part of the sunnah! Part of the sunnah is to point the finger through out entire tashahud and keep looking at it and before selam you put your hand on your leg, and you can also move it lightly up and down still while looking at it and through out entire tashahud until before selam.
Masha Allah I do this regularly bcoz it is sunnah

The post is authentic, and your following Shaikh Assim Al-Hakeem is 100% legit (As per hadith of Wael bin Hujur regarding finger moving up n down in tashahhud)). if possible, read my post above on summary of this video. it helps clarify this video in detail :-)

PLEASE HELP - have a question about this, I have noticed every time I raise my finger during att hi yattu for some reason I yawn every time I say ‘asshadu Allah illaha’ what can this mean?
Shejtan is trying to not let you say that word, is trying to not let you testify the Shahadah.
When you yawn try not to open your mouth, you it is hard fot you bite your lip, if you still can’t put the back of your left hand in front of your mouth because the Prophet صل الله عليه وسلم said that shejtan can enter your body when you yawn and don’t close your mouth

My guess is that they were moving their finger as they were shivering because of cold. So maybe keeping the finger straight, still and looking at it is the closest practice of the prophet.
No one may claim Our Heavenly Father Book , Temple , or Covenant as their own not even kingdom James versions or anybody Muhammad and the Quran.

Is it obligatory to move your finger during saying " tashod"??? , that doesn't undo the prayer .
I am not at all a knowledgeable person -
In my humble understanding the prophet (saws) prayed peacefully and slowly and his prayers were composed and long - now, try reciting things peacefully, slow and long...it will be difficult to vigorously shake the finger at the same time..obviously there is some correlation.
I don’t like this moving finger during praying. Looks wired when people doing this.
What is asked in islam has to be done.. wired or not doesn't matter...
For Eid U Adha..if you are intending to do sacrifice U are not supposed to cut nails and hair for 10 days of Zil Hajj...person looks shabby ..but it is been advised in islam ..so you have to follow..
