another great video. i love blended wines, but always did it with the grapes and not the finished wines. I've used some of the same combos you've listed, and they're fantastastic. i noticed not too many people mention muscato, which I've had great success with, and am doing this year as well. thanks for your knowledge and insight. ill keep watching

Grenache in Spanish is Garnacha (not Granacho), FYI. Very helpful video, thanks!

I know you can’t give exact numbers without trying it first but what’s a good starting point ? Grazie

Thank you so much for this ! I am making buying 8 cases of grapes this year. I’d like to blend Merlot and Barbera. I am looking for a nice velvety and aromatic result. How many cases of Merlot and how many of Barbera would you suggest ?

In case Musto doesn't see this, I would suggest 3:1 ratio, so that's 6 lugs of Merlot and 2 of Barbera. It depends on the acidity of the grapes, assuming that the Barbera is going to be sharper than the Merlot, so I'd be leery of using too much. I am making a Zinfandel/Barbera blend at 2:1 and a 100% Merlot this year. Good luck!

@@rpguitar thank you so much ! I ended up doing 5 Merlot / 2 Cabernet Sauvignon / 2 barbera. Your blend seems interesting, I’m sure it will turn out great

sorry for the delay Enzo. I still believe in fermenting grapes separately and blending later on. I will tell you this - Keep the merlot as the largest percentage and add a small amount of Barbera to add some bright fruit.
