The thing with the G1 sunstreaker is if you want a brand new 1 you have no choice but to buy a chinese knock off (unless you are lucky enough to find 1 that was never opened and played with) because the hastak mould /tooling was destroyed years ago and thats why there hasnt been an offical reissue since the 1990s.
Hi Dean, need to thank me,sir...i just dont have the space anymore because of my model kit collection ....and sure i could have sold them but decided to donate them to you to help your collection grow and i couldnt think of anyone more deserving and i KNOW you will look after them and treasure them so they went to a good home....and it pleases me no end to see you getting immense enjoyment from what i donated to you.....
Awesome Collection! -bringing back memories as it's the only childhood collection I don't still have- ooh it's tempting to start again! ;) Great Donations from Damien too! :)
I love so many of these. One of my favourites is Warpath, I used to take him everywhere. Also love Ultra Magnus, such a clever transformation that incorporates the trailer. My favourite Decepticons are the seeker jets, especially Thundercracker. Blitzwing is another great toy, and let's not forget the awesome Soundwave, one of the most iconic bad guy toys of my childhood! Now I want to get all my Transformers out of storage!
Fun video! Thank you! And thank you, also, for being part of the RIRFIB gang! Rumble is red, Frenzy is blue, Enemy is BOTH Just to mess with you. Huge fan of Soundwave, and I missed out on the original, so I had to get the reissues.
Great video, Dean! Just like yourself, completing the 1984 wave was special to me too. My favorite childhood Transformer that I owned was Metroplex, as he was a city, rolling battle platform & giant robot (plus I knew I had no chance of getting Fort Max back then 🤣).
Definitely Soundwave, but Megatron as the P38 was just the coolest thing *ever*. Never had either, but knew kids who did. Like you I have a reissue Megs & Walmart Soundwave sealed in that fantastic box art. I'm perfectly happy with reissues & the odd KO; it's all about the "vibe"!
Oooft!!!! What a collection Dean! Like you the KOs and reissues don’t bother me at all, I think they are superb! Soundwave was always my favourite (that voice gave me shivers!) but as a toy Jetfire was always circled in the Argos book! Lol Great look at these man, really enjoyed it 👍
@@MonkeyboysToys yep..same voice and same voice actor....also the same voice and voice actor for "the boogey man" and ray stanz from the real ghost busters,"scooter" from the gobots and even all the animal sounds from the simpsons as well as "Freddie" from some of the scooby doo series through the years.

I recommend getting Takara reissues over Hasbro. As the quality of the plastic and stickers are a lot better. Also you sometimes get extra features like taller smoke stacks on Prime and a strong spring in the trailer, etc. My favorite G1 Prime is a Takara reissue that has tampograph autobot symbols on his shoulder. My favorite Transformers has always been Soundwave, plus you get his tapes as a bonus. I still need to get a reissue G1 Rumble/Frenzy.
Fantastic collection! So good we can use the reissues etc to help complete our collections . Soundwave too was my favourite, along with the cassetrons 👍🏽
I’m glad someone decided to release reissues of the transformers g1 toys. I was able to get the astrotrain reissue. I also like to collect other transformers g1 merchandise that aren’t toys too.
I casually collected Transformers for around 25 years, just buying the occasional one that looked cool to me. That did add up to hundreds though, but it was a random bunch pulled from many series. They were all stolen recently. They were all stored in a shed in my backyard. Someone broke in there and took several boxes of Transformers and 8 boxes of comic books. That makes me believe whoever stole them knew specifically what they wanted, but I haven't any idea who it was. I've always had a goal to collect the full set of 1984 releases, and I still would like to do that. Reissues would be okay. Actually, preferred. The reissues would be easier to get in decent condition and should be cheaper.
PERFECT collection. Defo what I would like to try and get myself. As a kid I had the red bumblebee, part of that Takara Micro change stock clearance at the start of the line. Always annoyed I didn't have the traditional yellow.
Great collection and great tour! I actually have the KO Sunstreaker myself as I wanted to have a box to display my vintage one without breaking the bank. The quality is of the figure itself is really really good - I was genuinely impressed.
In april this year I also started collecting G1 Transformers. I'm collecting vintage G1 originals but also official reissues and also a few modern Legacy, Studio Serie 86 and Kingdom figures and I also have two K.O's from China (Reflector and Soundwave) in my collection. A G1 Megatron was very hard to find for a decent price but a few days ago I found the japanese Takara Tomy Black Edition Megatron Reissue mint in Box for 150 Euros (buy it now) on ebay Germany and bought it right on the spot. Very nice figure and with working firing machanism. 😎 I have around 80 Transformers in my collection so far like Encore G1 Optimus Prime, Walmart Starscream, Skywarp, Black Edition Megatron, Blaster, Tracks, Jazz, Ravage, Steeljaw, SDCC Soundwave, 5 Minibots, Constructicons gift set, Combaticons, Stunticons, Dinobots and many more. As a kid I loved Kenner Star Wars (I have a 98% complete collection), Gi Joe, Bravestarr, Masters of the Universe, Starcom and MASK but Transformers were always my favorite toys. My favorite Transformers are Soundwave and Ravage. Never had them as a kid but always wanted them. Sadly I could never find them in any toy store here in Germany. Now I have two Soundwaves in my collection (K.O. with box and the San Diego Comic Con edition with its 4 cassette mates). BTW: I also have the THF (ToyHouseFactory) Masterpiece Sonicwave/Soundwave figure with THF Ravage, Rumble, Frenzy, Laserbeak and Buzz Saw. He looks freakin awesome.
These are fantastic Dean! I had so many Transformers as a kid, that just seeing these brings back fantastic memories. Soundwave was my favorite as well. How could you not have him as your number one? Hahaha. I love that there were so many reissues, knockoffs etc that people could complete their collection for viewing and enjoyment without breaking the bank. Absolutely nothing wrong with that in my opinion. When I was growing, up my uncle purchased all of the original G1 Transformers and kept them sealed in their boxes, around the time the first Transformers movie came out he sold everything and made it pretty penny. Had he only known how much they would actually appreciate in the many years afterwards. I'm sure every time he thinks about it now, he can't help but to cringe a little bit wondering about how much money he left on the table by not holding on to them a little longer. Oh well, you never know how the market will go, but regardless, it's great to see these guys getting some spotlight time again. I only wish that I had some extra space to showcase a wonderful G1 collection like yours! Thank you for sharing.
I'm 100% with you on displaying Soundwave without one of cassette kids in there. It looks weird. I traded my childhood Soundwave to a friend for a Starscream. A legit playground toy deal. Glad Wally World did the reissue along with the 5 main cassettes so I could get a G-1 Soundwave again. I've got a good number of G-1 reissues from the early 00's that look awesome to display with the boxes, but I've still got my one armed Sideswipe, the first Transformer I ever got. Love that one armed guy!
Watching again and just realise you mention the commerative Skywarp and Thundercracker were toys r us exclusives.....ah dont you just love it when hasBLOW come out with their "exclusive" nonsense as i got mine in Dublin City Comics when the commemirative series were in production.....also we dont have toys r us here either.
Wave 1 is the way to go and the wave that I remember as a kid. I have no interest in any of the other waves after that except for maybe Shockwave and Jetfire.
Please leave a comment below to tell me about your favorite G1 Transformers.
