This was fabulous ladies! A true show of how life rolls when you have kiddos. Happy Easter 🐣
You two are so adorable! I’m so grateful to have collaborated with you on this! ❤️❤️❤️
Happy Easter ladies. i find it really odd that people complain about free content. I love you sharing your yarn and projects - chew as you please :)
I'm knitting the Donegal luxury tweed aran by Debbie Bliss. It is cabled done in pieces and worked bottom up.
Happy Easter!! Wonderful episode and loved seeing all the new yarns. The pressed flowers shawl is still on my list of shawls to knit. I've recently finished my nightshift shawl and I love it! It's a really nice transitional piece.
So glad to see you back.
Happy Easter! From St.Louis Missouri!
Wonderful family episode! I love to knit shawls. My favourjte two patterns ar "Exploration station" by Stephen West. Also a swedish pattern called "Jämnt ojämn" by Jennypenny. Its on Ravelry as "Even uneven shawl" I think. Its the most fun knit all cathegories I ever done, so I recommend it.
Good Morning ☀️😃🌞
I sorry should add to help keep tract of were you are on ALL. Your WIPS never loose your place ever!
for me garment knitting brings me great joy. and that is okay.
timberline by jared flood is a great cable cardigan
My “in a funk” knit shawl is Verticies Unite. Everyone needs a small size (scarf ish) and a large size (regular shawl size, not his usual shlanket). I have made 2 for me, and 2 more for others.
I’m knitting Exploration Station shawl by Stephen West. It’s very fun!
Ladies - i am still a huge shawl knitter. I go through phases where i knit nothing but sweaters for months then i wake up one day and all i want is shawls in colors i have never knit before. i am the same with socks. I am not sure if its driven by seasons or my metal health - but yes, shawls are a really important part of my knitting.
I am still an avid shawl knitter, but knit more than I wear! One of my Al time favorites and one I get the most compliments on is Moonsisters by Caitlin Hunter.
Chelsea, I feel you about the cabled sweater. I put one down for months and had a heck of a time figuring out where I was. Since then, I always mark where I left off whenever I put a complicated project down. I use a knitting journal and knit companion. Things happen that unexpectedly interrupt my knitting all of the time. This new practice has saved me. Go for the cabled sweater. So nice to see you both. Have a wonderful Easter weekend.
Your sweaters are just gorgeous!! Making me want to knit a Seasons Cardigan! Ozetta had a shawl called the Winter Tales Blanket Shawl that I’m dying to make. Also just started a Perfectionist Trap shawl. Definitely still into shawls but I think it’s similar to the sweaters - I want practical and classic shawls now!
Happy Easter to you! My favorite cabled sweater is Affiknity by Patty Lyons. I highly recommend it. I’m currently knitting my third one! It calls for worsted weight. The pattern is unisex and includes both a pullover and a cardigan with options for boxy or waist shaping. It has a shawl collar and pockets. The pattern is a bit pricey. But, there are soooo many amazing video tutorials every step of the way. I consider myself an advanced knitter, but I learned so many amazing tips and tricks. It was worth the price.
well you did it, just bought the season's sweater pattern. This year I'll be making socks for me, and sweaters. Not s shawl in sight
I love the Painters Pallet, would you consider dying this color? I would love socks and a DK for my blanket. Happy Easter 🐰 🧶❤️
I love dk wt I am making a Corner to Corner Blanket with mine….
Love the sights and sounds of family life! Thanks for sharing!
I love the process of knitting shawls, but they sit on the shelf. I have tried to scale down on the amount I knit.
I love shawls - I have knit maybe 5..only one for myself though, but I wear it daily in the winter from Dec-March basically. I definitely plan to knit another. Nothing enormous though..i need it to actually wrap around my neck nicely in my parka (I'm in Canada). Have a look at the Soiree sweater by Emily Foden..it's really boxy and the cables are loooovely..though mostly detailing the arm and sides..maybe you are looking for something with cables all-over. Happy Easter to you both and your family!! :)
I enjoyed spending time with all of you. The laughter in the background kept me smiling. Love both the painters colorways. 💜 hope you have a great Easter! 🐇🐰🌷🐣🍫🍪
Hey ladies! I love Thea Coleman's cabled sweaters. Swoony.
Interesting question about shawls - I wear the ones I’ve made over the years, but as I’ve got a great selection in an entire rainbow of colours or neutral options … I no longer feel the need to make more atm. I make then for gifts for friends quite often instead 💚
Loving your chatting !!
Adding more comments as you talk…
Cables - have a look at Thea Coleman’s collection - I’ve got so many of hers in my queue I love them.
I’ve made some in pieces and some all in one either top down or bottom up. All depends on the look you’d like. 💚
Are you guys having an online open weekend again as well as the in-person one? I really enjoyed that last year and would love to do it again. I don't get Easter off, I work in a museum. The only holiday we get is Christmas. I was lovely to hear about your plans for the open weekend and seeing that cute little knit squirrel. I am very tempted by that, but my queue is humongous!😂
Happy Easter! Love when you show real life!! Enjoy your time together 💜🐰
Oh my goodness. The girls are so cute! Love painters smock and palette. ❤
Such a fun episode! Great to see the kiddos! Love the new colorway! Happy Easter 🐣🐇
Omg! I loved everything about this episode! The girls were the icing on the cake! Happy Easter! ❤❤
I knit shawls for gifts. Love doing it and gifting them.
So awesome! Loved the chaos and really who cares if it was chaotic?! That is typical of a holiday get together so I felt at home. ❤ I am so excited about the advent calendar and SO hope I am able to order. You guys are amazing and so appreciated!!!! XOXO Happy Easter!
Hi Sue and Chelsea very excited about the Advent project when can we put in an order.?
This was the best!!!! Got my advent, got my April minis and got my painters smock micro set. I’m addicted to the jelly roll blanket. I’m doing both. Holding yarn double and using DK and it’s working great. I am with you all - simple knitting. Socks blankets and I am making a Musselburgh hat. ❤❤ happy Easter 🐰
Enjoyed seeing the girls! Both are adorable and charming!! Happy Easter to all of you.
I wanna knit sweaters but I just need easy so I can get used to the format of them ,maybe you could suggest some basic easy cardigan sweaters
OMG this was such fun! So great to see the littles. Maybe next time we can see the puppers too? ❤😊
I love shawls! Currently, working on a shawl while watching you ladies.
My first cabled cardigan was by Nora Gaughan, which knit up very quickly. I’m working on the Crossvine now, free pattern by Berroco. Almost done!
I think shawls will always be big in the designer community. I rarely wear my shawls, but I LOVE knitting them! I'm currently knitting on a Pressed Flowers shawl, and so enjoying the knit! .Joji Locatelli has a lot of cabled cardigan patterns. My first thought was All Of The Lights. But do check her out, she has quite a variety.
Happy Easter to all that celebrate! A cable cardigan to definitely check out is Citadel by Joji Locatelli. You will never tire of the cables and pattern changes - but the selling point for me was the POCKETS!! I made a spreadsheet of every row and crossed off as I went along. It is my most loved sweater!!
I’ve never gotten a Christmas advent set before, but I think 2023 is the year if I could snag one of y’all’s!!
Hi gals! When I think of cabled sweaters, I think of the traditional Irish knit, Fisherman's sweaters that were popular back in the 70s. I knit one when I was 14 (I'm 68 next month). I still have it and still wear it! Also, talking about blocking acrylic garments, there is no need to block. It doesn't change the fabric at all. I do, however, block cable sweaters and colorwork sweaters. A must for natural fibers like wool, both superwash and non superwash. The wool "blooms" when soaked. It makes a difference. I live in Vermont, the next town over from Stowe. When I go shopping in Burlington, I keep my eyes peeled, hoping I might run into you somewhere. Maybe at Must Love Yarn shop when I stop in there, lol. I make small shawls that can be wrapped around my neck as a scarf/neckwarmer. Lord knows you need that neck warmth in Vermont!
for cable sweaters I knit the billie sweater by sari n last year and probably wear it at least once a week. It is knit in one piece in the round but the pattern is easy to memorize once you start, I highly recommend
I just got my first Advent set from you! I’m so excited!!
Personnaly I don’t like the chaos behind the scene. I could understand if you are alone with the girls but someone there to take care of them, why don’t they go upstair for the time you are recording?
