Yep I do the same when changing my tilt bucket. I shut the machine down and push the auxiliary pedal to relieve any back pressure. I also use a makita ratttle gun to do and undo the screw hitch. Just make sure you use a low impact setting and don’t over tighten it or you will shear that bolt, it doesn’t need much tension if any at all.
Hello Simon, I'm comfortable with a 800mm bucket on my 2 ton machine but I personally think a 1000mm tilt bucket would be a bit much for a 1 ton machine. When you consider the weight of the bucket plus the tilt ram, add on the weight of the material and it gets to be quite a lot for a little digger. If you have a quick hitch that puts the bucket a bit further out from the machine which does make a difference to stability. I use the tilt bucket as much if not more than all the other attachments combined and I've never really had any desire to get a bigger bucket. That's my own opinion but I'm just an old guy playing around on my little Chinese digger, I'm certainly no expert on such things. Cheers
@@dinomite_diggers3453 Thanks for that. Your reasoning is exactly what I was thinking. I contacted the dealer (I'm in UK) and he assures me that it will be OK for a 1000mm tilt since I only want to use it for grading and spreading top soil. If it becomes a problem I'll buy a smaller bucket, since they're so inexpensive. We seem to have very similar grounds maintenance needs for a Chigger. Thanks for your content, it's helped me make the decision to buy one.
Good video. I've got a similar sized machine but still am spooked a bit on different grades and moving stuff around. You were able to move some pretty big stuff with the thumb. It didn't look tipsy but had to have been a little bit. Was there a butt pucker factor you learned to deal with or is that machine really stable?
Hi Joel. I've never worried about this digger tipping, when I pick stuff up I keep it low and if the machine starts to tip it will only go until the bucket hits the ground. Bringing the bucket in closer will usually solve the problem and if it doesn't just let the load go. Sometimes just picking up a heavy object from a different angle will help. We are currently making an extension for my digger and if it works I'll proudly post it on You Tube, if it tips the digger over I'll just keep quiet about it. The more time you spend on your machine the more confident you'll get, just be careful though.
thanks for the video you make very interesting content you mentioned a while back it was a demo model what kind of money did you pay this would be a ideal size for me we are up in the waikato just outside of hamilton
Hi Brian It's a pity we didn't post this video a week earlier because I spent a couple of days this week up at Matangi just outside of Hamilton. Could have caught up with you. This digger cost me $24000, it was a demo with about 50 hours on it. I've had it 8 months but a comment on one of my previous videos would suggest the price has gone up since then. cheers.
@@nanazhang429 Hello Nana That's good you have a cheaper one, what make and model is it? How much would it cost in New Zealand dollars to get it at my place? Sometimes we buy cheaper and get a very good deal, sometimes we buy cheaper and get a bucket of shit. What size is your bucket?

Hi, looking for some advice. They also make a 1000mm tilt bucket, do you think that might be too big for a 1 ton machine? Thanks.
