When that All My Friends sample comes on and you check to make sure spotify isn't playing, then you realize Hot Chip's just awesome.
I found a new song to dance to in my underwear. :D
+Adrian Gee Just make sure you're dancing in the dark.
+Adrian Gee Hi check my comment above yours. Have a Great holiday.
+Adrian Gee Is this dude even famous to have his identity verified? Who would even create a fake account of you?
+Adrian Gee SAME!
+Adrian Gee Link please
I'll never forget the first time I listened to this song and "All My Friends" kicked in. My jaw hit the floor.
It happened to all of us lmao
Recently rediscovered this absolute masterpiece after like 5 years. My god it hit so hard
Same here. The entire album is just great.
I know right? Same thing here - both in terms of rediscovering it 5 years later, and it hitting so hard.
Same lol
6 years for me
Mike 0:35 has me questioning my sexuality and making me want to give up smoking
One of the best covers anyone can make, I genuinely think it's even better than the original.
Thanks Hot Chip.
🙌dancing always
I've always thought of Dancing in the Dark and All My Friends to be thematically related... super duper cool
+Rob Silverman-Ascher Nice hyphenated last name, bro.

+Hake Engels Oh fuck off...
2020 everything is fucked and still dancing in the dark to hotchip
This is obviously gonna be the new official last song played at the end of the night at bars.
I'm actually smoking my cigarette
+Arlei Machado Hit fast forward button!
+Arlei Machado smoking is actually pretty bad for you
+Arlei Machado I just lit up my smoke as he said it lol
OK kids smoking cigarettes are bad mkayyy
Avery Fleming smoking is never funny
This went from Mildly Amusing to Excellent to BADASS in the span of about 45 seconds sometime after minute 4. Good on YOU Hot Chip for making me fall in love with you all over again.
LCD STILL LIVES
+Miniclash It took me until about 6 minutes into the song to make sense of your comment. Well played!
Hi Tom!
Iceland Airwaves 2015, the perfect ending to a perfect vacation. They finished their awesome show with this, and I had to run out to catch a plane straight after. As I walked outside the stadium, the northern lights were putting on a show. Unforgettable.
Thank you for this :)
this is why I read UA-cam comments 🙏
I grew up in Trenton NJ and on Springsteen (unavoiadable) as a kid. This is rad. You make the lyrics so endearing to a song that was overplayed my whole life but y'all picked up on it. Makes me cry with a smile and feel good about loving the Boss and where I came up from. Thanks Hot Chip.
the passion in this version is so strong
I would never have guessed how much "Dancing in the Dark" and "All My Friends" have in common.
Is all my friends a show or a song
“All My Friends” is a great song by LCD Soundsystem. You should definitely check it out.
Taking nothing away from them but I think this cover is arguably the best thing Hot Chip have ever done.
Nah!
I feel better, Huarache Nights, or shake a fist
Obviously :)
I kind of agree. The retro footage and the cover itself are masterful. Hard to fuck with the I feel better video though.
Hot Chip are an excellent singles artist, arguably the best England have had in pop since PSB.
However I would say that their finest tune is the Made in the Dark centerpiece "We're Looking for a Lot of Love". Just stunning all the way through.
But yeah, it's a good cover. Fairly brave one tbh, many would say don't mess with a classic, and these Boss fans are unforgiving.
Playing this song while I'm driving makes me feel way cooler than I actually am.
as a bruce springsteen and a lcd soundsystem fan ... this is wow. thanks hot chip! :)
Omgomgomg hot chip did a Bruce cover????? Whaaaaaaaaaaatttttt ?!?!?!????!!!!! 😧😧😧😧 *dies*
I like listening to Hot Chip when I'm high.
Me too.
or drunkie
Always sceptical when someone covers a classic, but Hot Chip absolutely nail this. Brilliant cover, would be absolutely perfect for me if the All My Friends segment was longer though!
I agree about the All My Friends bit being longer!
Miss u LCD
This at the West Holts on Friday night was one of the highlights of Glastonbury! So, so good
+Callum Gamble Amen to that! Caribou on first for a double bill (plus they joined in for the final track) - An incredible blurry mess of awesome fantasticalness.
+tonynibbles Main stage at Green Man Festival. Incredible.
+tonynibbles hahah did the exact same thing, was on acid, pills and coke, fucking mental Friday night.
+Callum Gamble
Yeah, and I was thinking "Seen Hot Chip before, can't be bothered with a 45 minute slog out to West Holts..." DOH ! How stupid was I ??!?
Agreed. I almost died of excitement when they briefly segued into 'All of my friends'.
DUANE!

Thank you for the reminder! I was just about to think "oh well, today's actually quite nice"! And actually, NO! Because the Eighties were BETTER. (and more colorful).
PS: I like you guys# sound. But you really need a nice crushing solo-guitar.
2019 and I just found about this video now 🤗
What an awesome cover, always loved the original version of it, but this is a jewel.
This video is awesome.
However, I grew up in the 80's and don't kid yourself: it was awful. For every good thing that came out of the 80's there were hundreds of terrible things, and the terrible things all had as much exposure as the good ones.
It was very cheesy, such a contrast with the 90s...
Have you ever stopped and think, probably that dude that doesn't like smokers died alone.
There's something purely blissful about this, not sure how they ever got away with the 'Donna Summer' thing, but it's just one of those tracks I will always go to to lose myself in when the shit gets too much.
This song reeks of a Giorgio Moroder production ripoff and it's all the better for it.
they got away with the 'Donna Summer' thing because they are Hot Chip and that is what they do
this is so Giorgio Moroderesque! this is how future retro is done. makes me wanna listen to Sparks's No.1 In Heaven. i love it!
1985(the Eudaemonic Pie)/86/87/1988(Straight Talk)..late night TV..I was there as a child..Friday Night Videos on NBC was the MTV for those with no cable through the 80s(not in this video)..lots of trashy computer software infomercials..we used to see who could guess what was being sold the 1st because the commercials were so bad and useless it used to take a while to figure it out with some.
Everything is Terrible, except this song.
This is the best cover, of any song, ever.
Listened to all my friends by lcd soundsystem on a whim right before this. Got really confused for a second hahaha
This came a bit before LCD Soundsystem made their comeback annoucement for Coachella 2016.
Putting together Bruce Springsteen and LCD Soundsystem in a song was unlikely rad.
Heard this at a club night recently after not hearing it for probably 5+ years. Not sure what changed, probably that this song just now has some fantastic memories attatched.
this clip is a work of art, the song and the imagery is perfect. i love it every time.
TIGERS KIDS IN HIS ARMS.
PEPERONIS NEED TO BREED A NEW BABY
There is only me as father holdng my cherrished childrens by my choosen lady
This band so underrated...music's awesome
The clip of the Straight Up anti-drug video at 0:18 ...which we were shown in elementary school. Wow, small world. And also...DUANE!
Does anyone have a link to the video with Ben and the magician?
I heard this for the first time live at first ave in my home of Minneapolis, I miss live music so much.
Accidentally played this at 75 % speed while off my head and it actually worked, like a melancholic version
this song was made for one of those hyper-beautiful coming of age shots in a film, of a teenage girl dancing on her own in the middle of the dance floor, and the lighting is neon pink and blue and she has decided that she doesn't care what anyone thinks about her anymore
No, since 30 years, haha
Fukin hell what a record.. this is x
They aborded their pregnancy.
HOW SAD.
My lineage progresses with others.
Belo cover!👏😎❤ Amei a versão, uma delícia para 'dançar no escuro' 💃
Its so beautifull to hold ones own child and raise a family. Why dont you start and seek to have one some day too?
Amazing as always guys! Absolutely smashed this song at Glastonbury :D
Where are MY friends tonight?
I knew this cover before I knew the original...coming back to this half a year later after going on a binge of eighties music, I can now appreciate this more!
This reminds me a lot of the opening track of One Life Stand - a song that just builds on large sweeping synthesizers for several minutes.
🔥🔥🔥
Who is listening this in 2020
This voice is lovely
1:59 🖤❣
👇💯
I can't possibly decide if I'm disgusted or thrilled by this. It sounds, superficially, like A Great Big World did an intense disco cover of "Dancing in the Dark" that was partially produced by Giorgio Moroder through the lense of 1977 using instrumentation from 1984. I am verklempt. Deeply verklempt.
I am so excited by my description 7 months ago, I will give it a "like".
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Who is listening this all the time
This voice is beautiful
1:16 💘💗
👇 👇 👇💯
Oh hell yes! Well there goes my idea for that remix but atleast this is fecking amazing!

Meow
I visualize The Killers doing a cover from this music
I’m actually in this video! Two whole seconds!
You're the "There's no perfect person guy"? Awesome!
RIP LCD
What???
Dude obviously never heard of the concept of compression ignition! Harrrrr harrrr harrrr.
I love the LCD flavor!
Bom demais, ouço desde ontem sem parar :-O
Você não pode começar um incêndio

Young Laura Perez Cynthia Martin Brenda
didn't know they had done a version of this until listening to soul music on radio 4 about the song, which I've always liked but never thought much about until now. then went down the usual google rabbit hole and found this. wow. love hot chip anyway so to find this is fantastic. 'There's something happening somewhere'.. well there is tonight..
Very clever cover of a great song
0:35 Hi, My name's Mike and if you sitting there watching this tape smoking your cigarette, well hit the fast forward button because I don't smoke and I don't like people who do smoke.
dunno why, but this tune always makes me wanna ride falkor the luckdragon
it should have been taken for the neverending-story-OST - much better than the aaaah-ahhhhh-ahhhh-original they have used those days.
btw much => better than the original (sry to the Boss)
This track is as festive as life can get sometimes. Incredible.
When I saw this video, the first thing that sprung to mind was the Love For Sale montage from True Stories. Then I found out that in the live performance seen in this video, David Byrne made a guest apperance to perform Dancing In The Dark and All My Friends with Hot Chip. He can be spotted briefly at 2:28. I wonder if True Stories served as inspiration for including the '80s clips aside from the song itself.
I think it's a great cover.
I can finally understand the lyrics.
6.12 - put your FUCKING phone down
Anybody recognize the new beat after 2minutes? After a week of pondering, I suspect I feel love by Donna Summer. Whadya think?
Duane?.......DUANE!
I have never heard this before. I've been dancing for like 2 hours straight. Lmao. I heard some solo stuff I think. I think I have seen a little bit of every member. Its a really great concert! I have been to like maybe 5 or 6 concerts and this has meant the most to me.
I can definitely feel it though. What was that VCR thing?? 😄😆
Some songs should never be messed with. The Boss can't be beaten on this one. I'm sure he just lost a bunch of smoking supporters too! Lol!
I really like the part at the beginning where that lady says "Tremendously, I'm basically a quiet type that stays home a lot" - does anyone know where I can find the full video?
this song and the voice of the lead singer sounds so muce like another song but I can't put my finger on it! help anyone??
This was incredible at Glastonbury!
Glad my children are smarter than me. Their Grandad flew jet planes into almost as far as you could go.
Brutal!!!
Wow Salon.com brought me over here. Really remarkable cover. I love them dropping Lou Gossett Jr. into their mix. An eighties acid flashback...
Cigarettes are cool. IDC what anyone says.... If cigarettes kill, then how am I writing this?
The Greatest Song by Anyone Ever. I only heard it 18 months ago. I regret those 182.5 days. I'm still crying. And I will. Forever. Throw my corpse into the river of joyful tears & let Poseidon dispose of me as he will.
*182.5 X 1.5. Sorry.
A bit Bruce Springstein meets Pet Shop Boys Streets have no Name...not a bad mix.
This is a really crazy idea of Public Access TV that is not portrayed on real Public Access TV.
This is fooking awesome dudes...........
Really good intro; 80's, and early 90's dating and sartorial americana was just, it was just that.
As a classic rock lover and big fan of The Boss, this is pretty sick. Definitely going to keep an eye on these guys.
Springsteen did it first, Springsteen did it best, but Hell I definitely dig this version too.
will they play this tonight??
The 'bevel it cut it' guy had one of the greatest mullets the 1980's ever produced.
Masterful!
