    What people in any tech/mechanical situation tend to ignore is that processes improve. Cameras, scopes, lights etc..that fall under the “budget umbrella” now are oftentimes better than the top of the line as recent as 4 or 5 years ago.

    • @RogerBarrera
      @RogerBarrera  7 місяців тому +5

      That’s a good point. What is now considered “budget” was in fact high end in the past with some things.

    I have the eaglefeather 4-16x44 and the cvlife bipod on my ruger precision rimfire. And the 3-9x40 cvlife for my 10/22. The one on my precision rimfire i got it dialed in at 100yards. Still nice and clear.

    This felt more like an overview than a review. Not sure how you can recommend this especially to hunters so many times when all you really did was just shoot with it one day. Does it hold zero after not being used for a while and then traveling? It's has a lot of claims like being waterproof. Is it actually? No you don't have to do a sage dynamics review but is it somewhat durable for what a hunter is likely to experience?

    • @RogerBarrera
      @RogerBarrera  7 місяців тому +2

      For sure, I was interested in how these zeroed and how the reticle held up especially with the .308. I def wanna try what someone else suggested about shooting out to 400 by dialing in and then seeing if still holds zero at 100 when dialed back. The materials are the same as some of my other mid tier scopes that have held up well. I think a good fall can damage any scope and I don’t have enough time with these to say I’d take it over my higher end gear. I more meant for range use or hunting as I wouldn’t be in a situation defensively where my life depended on it. Thanks for the feedback and checking out the video. 👍🏼👊🏻

      What walking a little and sitting around? You drop your rifle much? Like what is a “hunter” going to deal with? I wouldn’t use it at my old job as a paratrooper but for a range gun yes?

    • @danielscott6909
      @danielscott6909 6 місяців тому

      @@Flemdragon I don't think you meant to put a question mark on the last sentence, so I'll ignore that one. To answer the other questions, I do see your point. A lot of hunters (probably the majority) don't have a lot of movement involved in the process of getting where they're going and the environment is fairly controlled. I forget that sometimes because that's not what I'm used to. For those hunters where that is the case, I agree this would probably work without any issues.
      Where I think we still would need to see how well this holds up for hunters is how well it does with water, since it claims to be waterproof, and how well it holds zero over time.
      This applies across the board because there are plenty of hunters that still hunt in the rain. There are also a lot of hunters who zero prior to season and then travel long distances before actually taking their first shot. In that time, how the gun is handled could cause a shift in zero if the internal components aren't up to par.
      Outside of that, I acknowledge accidents happen. I've seen people put rifles against what looks like a sturdy surface and it tips over on the ground. Here's where my main issue with hunters comes in.
      If an accident as simple as that were to happen, would this scope hold zero? If you're already on a public land hunt that you had to draw for and you only get a few days in that area, you don't always have time to recheck zero. You just have to trust that the fall didn't affect the scope and the gun in a way that will ruin your hunt when the time comes to take the shot. To know the scope you actually purchased is durable enough to handle an accident, as rare as it may be, is what some people are willing to spend the extra money on.
      The problem with my original statement is my last sentence "...for what a hunter is 'likely' to experience?". I should have never said likely to experience when hunters are probably less likely to experience issues where the terrain is rough or where they don't have a blind to rest their rifles. I was thinking of more of the hunters I know and my personal experience. That is likely incorrect and for that, I apologize.

    Good video on this scope. However, I would like to see if it holds zero on both rifles after 200+ shots. I recently bought 3 of the 1-6 and 1-8 but none have been tried so far with more than 50+ shots and really hope that they will hold. Thanks for sharing.

    PSA Sabre line is a great freaking rifle. I can't buy the accessories alone they use above and beyond mil-spec rifles, as cheap as the whole rifle is priced at!!!
    If you're new or not so new to firearms or rifles and you are in the market for a AR, PSA's Sabre Line is an amazing value!!

    There was no "test" here. You need to get good dope on that rifle/ammo combo on a known quality scope. Then swap out to these scopes and dial said scope. This is where the deficiencies will show themselves. But I'm guessing you can't do that when the review is bought and paid for.

    • @RogerBarrera
      @RogerBarrera  7 місяців тому +1

      I can definitely try that. Point of video was to take these $60 scopes out and see what kind of groupings I could get. Like I said in the video, I wouldn’t go running to replace any of my higher and stuff with these, but I would definitely look at these for fun range guns that I need an optic for, maybe a gun for somebody’s kids starting out with them or just something to have on a rifle that I don’t have a scope for.
      So help me out, I need to put on my higher and optics on these same guns, shoot a grouping from 100 yards with those and then do the same thing with these?

    • @promisedlandguns
      @promisedlandguns 7 місяців тому +1

      @RogerBarrera put a quality scope on the gun. Put a target at say...400 or 500 yards. Record how many MOA it takes to dial up to hit the center of said target. Then swap out to the $60 scope....dail the same MOA see if it hits. Then dial back to zero. Put a target at 100 yards and see if it returns to zero. AND you can also do a box test. Dial up from your zero 6 MOA....dial left 6 MOA...dial down 6 MOA....dial right 6 MOA....see if it is still zeroed....
