The Formentor Lighthouse is located in the extreme north of the island of Majorca, was opened in 1863 as part of the installation of various light signalling points in Majorca to ensure greater safety of boats that sailed along these shores at night. But of all the lighthouses built at that time, the Formentor Lighthouse presented the greatest difficulties due to its location, one of the most impassable and isolated places on the island, which, on the other hand, allows it to have the highest focal plane of the island.
