If you have an additional tank, you could store rainwater for washing clothes, washing dishes and taking showers etcetera, and leave the fresh water for drinking and cooking. I enjoy your show very much.
You hole saw going overboard, took my mind back about 40 years lol We were out in a boat fishing for makrel they were easy to catch, My mate was doing the fishing I was cleaning them throwing the guts over board, throwing the Makrel into a bucket of water. I was well into the swing off things all of a sudden I accidentally instead of the guts my mates best hunting knife went over board, we both watch his cherished knife sink he was not amused lol
Skip the ladder and make a longer walking ramp instead better for the dogs and you can roll things onboard either from the side or in the stern. And you might consider getting a magnet to retrieve all things going in the sea😂 Having led strips under the wall plank will increase the welcoming effect just try with the x-mas lights and you’ll see 🙌
MP and Ben, you’re turning your yacht into a home and it is beautiful. Great progress. I feel that you two are blessed. Let don’t vicariously through my phone 30 minutes a day. I’m a sailor that’s landlocked west of Denver. Thanks for all of the updates. Cheers from the Rocky 26:26
You might consider ordering one of those fishing magnets to help try and recover small metal items dropped over the side ,hope this might help in future! We really have enjoyed following the building of Yaba and looking forward to your future accomplishments. Hope you have a great Christmas.
Forstner bits may work better than the cup saw, as they can make a through hole. Of course, it does make one more thing to store. Looking great though!
Just tie a strong magnet on a rope attached to the hole you were drilling, and lower it to the sea floor, & tie off. As Yaba swings side to side on her anchor the magnet will attach itself to your cup saw & then you can pull it back up. 😉👍
I’m enjoying having my coffee and starting the day with your videos, gonna miss it when it’s over. Anyone want to take bets on when the subscriber count turns over to 103? :)
Maybe some kind of work table and mat for working on the transom? Folding saw horse's maybe? You're always cutting and working out there, make it a little easier on yourself. Fishing for tools has to be tiring.... Great episode, 2/3 over already!
You guys are awesome! I'm sorry you lost your tool, but seeing things like that and watching you struggle and have successes is very inspiring for me. I always think I'm the only one that does such things and has ridiculous obstacles arise, then I see you struggle with something and persevere and I realize it's not just me! So it becomes inspiring. Thank you.
Ben you do have a good case of the drops! For me it’s lack of sleep that is the root cause I hope you and MP are getting a good eight hours of continuous sleep! Yes it can be tough on a boat between all the necessary work to keep safe. With the summer heat maybe an afternoon nap will help when you didn’t get your zzz’s with the heat I’m sure a nap on the rear open deck might be the ticket! Can you get mildew proof canvas to make sun and rain shields for the back to help protect the area and offer a bit more shade when lowered a bit. Also have you looked at getting a larger battery to give you a bit more storage? Even if held in reserve to switch in when needed. Conserving is one thing, doing without is a bit different and you are only two. Love all of your magic on bringing Yaba back into a beautiful boat! ❤❤❤
My husband and I had a huge magnet on a rope that we used for when things like that went overboard. You paint the grooves and the edges first with the brush then you do the rest with the roller.
I'd keep the heavy line in one piece. Splice a strong soft eye in one end and splice the other end. One day you may need a towing line and this line will be perfect. Roll on Xmas
The both of you always do,a great job , don’t feel bad about the hole saw , I had a boat in the pass and sometimes things found there way into the water also , besides getting a new hole saw means faster holes ! LOL
Not a bad da other then losing a tool overboard hate when that happens especially Boat Motors lol. You guys have done so much getting that boat redone it was nice to see you two setting down for a dinne Enjoy it looked good!
I know so many of us lose items overboard for one reason or another. Having a strong magnet on a long rope has helped me retrieve items that I have lost over board. Also, I have a 1 L scuba tank that I can just grab and dive in and find what I’m looking for if the visibility and the depth agree. and then, even after all of that, some things just never come back they are a gift to the gods of the sea.
The problem of being efficient is sometimes you can’t get the motion right. I have lost tools that way myself. Hang in there and keep up the good fight. ❤❤😊
Favorite rainy (or dry) day or painting day recipe: fetch a large tumbler. Ice, 4oz good Vodka, 4 oz mango juice, fill to rim with tonic, garnish with lime. Slurp. Sail on, sail on, sail on and on.
First I don't know if you already take vitamins but whenever I know its gonna rain or in winter. I live in Michigan in the US winter is very cold and snowy. We always have a supply of vitamin D. I didn't realize how much it helped 7ntil I moved away from home and found out mom would put it in breakfast.
Ben, the whole purpose of your wooden device's are to be able to release the ropes quickly. By pulling up the wooden device as the hole in which it sits is a bit bigger, and all the rope is released instantaneously. No tangling no undoing. Just pull and your rope is free. Put it back in and your rope is read to be tightende again. Simple old seamenship. Very old.
I was fishing last September, we were motoring and placed my sun glasses on top of my head over my hat and a few minutes later I took the brim of my hat and flung the hat off my head forgetting about what was on my head, the glasses went flying into the water.... OH boy!
Take a trip back to the boatyard and make a ladder. They have the wood and tools to get a proper job done quickly and economically. Talk to the main man when he comes for the Christmas visit.
13:52 You need to make something that is temporary and that can be attached and removable to the top of the rutter like you're doing now. This can be a portable removable tabletop work bench. Maybe you can attach a vise to it or any other type you wish. This way, you're not working on that tiny little surface area you are here.
I still think that you need to put up transparent roll up sections so you could sit out there and not have to put the cushions anywhere. You could attach them at the bottom when they are rolled down with industrial velcro. Just a suggestion. Be safe stay healthy 😊
Hi guys, Ben I didn't see you waterproofing the holes thro' the railings, I do hope you did . MP Seeing you leaving the lower joints white I immediately thought, now you just have to paint the upper joints green/ turquoise to mirror match 🤓
You need to treat the belaying pin holes to prevent rot. I would have used a footprint drill or an auger bit to create the pin holes rather than a cup drill because you can get straight through and not have the problems of lining up the two drillings.
Hi,I have noticed many people using a drill bit a or a hole pressing down and moving it about and the drill overheating when they should just let the drill cut at its own rate.Your belaying pins should not be tight in the hole and should be able to be pulled out easily.cheers,Roly🇬🇧.P.S.i love the contrast between the white and the varnished areas.
I suggest to keep the line one piece and only cut it if an emergency requires it to be cut. It would be bad if the emergency required a longer piece that you had precut. Of course a proper knot can recombine the two pieces but it would take longer to do than cutting. Who knows if the person/people sent to grab the rope are knowledgeable on (quick) rope tying with such a large diameter rope. Lastly, have whatever you plan to cut the rope kept (hanging) close to where you plan to store the rope. Safe sailing you guys!
I personally hate the hand tight chucks. Try getting a keyed chuck instead. They definitely stay tight and using the three tight method is almost fool proof. (three chuck key holes enable you to tighten the chuck by tightening on each hole.)
Your thick rope, cut it in half, eye spice one end on each and the other end back spice and use the rope as springers, An Idea for you to get your self a spoke shave ideal to finish jobs off
I hope you plan to reseal/varnish those drilled holes and possibly make them a tiny bit larger. if the wood swells, they'll grab those pins and you won't be getting them back out. just one random viewer's opinion. if you paint the bedroom a darker color it will make the room feel smaller. for smaller spaces, especially on boats a light/white color is best. again just one ex day-sailor's opinion
Hi Ben you are struggling with that hole saw, they are not really the right tool for large deep holes in hard wood. A large spade bit or a Auger Bit would be far better.
Thank you so much for this amazing video! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
It’s your boat & you can paint it any colour you like. That said, when passengers and crew get sea sick, their face goes green. Green / Blue is the most clinically depressing colour. Anyone stuck on board in big swells will get sea sick and depressed from the green blue coloured walls. It’s the worst possible colour you could choose for long term below decks on any boat. Yes it’s Emm Pees favourite colour, everyone knows that, but it’s going to help make everyone else depressed and sea sick. 🙄😂😂😜
If you are going to have propane gas on board and below decks then you MUST install bilge gas sniffers & bilge blower fans. There will come a day a bottle valve leaks or someone leaves the gas stove on and wind blows the flame out & the bilge fills with propane & just one spark will blow Yaba to a million pieces, & burn her to water level. It’s not an option, you MUST do this. The gas bottle is supposed to be stored in a sealed cabinet with vents overboard to prevent propane (heavier than air) from settling in the bilge & either suffocating everyone while they sleep or igniting with just one spark & blowing everyone to the moon. Just using a portable propane gas stove within an enclosed cabin on a boat is the most irresponsible act. Use it in open air on the back deck if you must. As a vessel master you really are a fail, over and over. For goodness sakes, go to sea school and learn all the things you obviously don’t know. You are a danger to everyone on board. It’s YOUR responsibility to KNOw! Time to man up & grow a set of balls & go learn what you don’t know. Duca did it & you obviously also need to do it. 🙄👎

Mp the white grooves look really nice.

Man-- Wife and two dogs. Perfect
You need a heavy magnet on a good rope to do a little magnet fishing to recover those items that decide to go swimming..
Skip the ladder and make a longer walking ramp instead better for the dogs and you can roll things onboard either from the side or in the stern.
And you might consider getting a magnet to retrieve all things going in the sea😂
Having led strips under the wall plank will increase the welcoming effect just try with the x-mas lights and you’ll see 🙌
"Skip the ladder...". That will make getting onboard from the water a challenge, no?👴😉🤔
Not having a
Ladder for invaders to climb (all those pirate ships 😊) stay safe
I also like the white stripes...breaks up the continuous colour... Def get some epoxy in the belaying pin holes...Fun day! Cheers!
Glad to see you transition to a roller versus brush. 😎
MP and Ben, you’re turning your yacht into a home and it is beautiful. Great progress. I feel that you two are blessed. Let don’t vicariously through my phone 30 minutes a day. I’m a sailor that’s landlocked west of Denver. Thanks for all of the updates.

Love it... 11 pipers piping!!!
I like the planks with the white lines.

My wife's comment when the saw went overboard "Ben is how archaeology happens' 🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
One day this saw will be a valuable relic, a sunken treasure! How cool!
Just tie a strong magnet on a rope attached to the hole you were drilling, and lower it to the sea floor, & tie off.
As Yaba swings side to side on her anchor the magnet will attach itself to your cup saw & then you can pull it back up. 😉👍

I could feel your frustration through the screen when you flung the hole saw into the drink. Poor Ben! The bedroom looks great!

have you ever thought about getting forstner bits for cutting holes? They work a lot better in thick wood.
G'day 😊 guys 🎉
Black fur absorbs heat more than usual, that is why Caillou looks for cooler places to lie down.

You need to buy a magnet for magnet fishing ...
Hi guys, Ben I didn't see you waterproofing the holes thro' the railings, I do hope you did . MP Seeing you leaving the lower joints white I immediately thought, now you just have to paint the upper joints green/ turquoise to mirror match 🤓
Thanks for the enjoyment of this episode! 🤩🤩🤩
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching!
Will you make some plastic panels to seal, off the rear of the boat ? What a shame it gets wet back there .
You need to treat the belaying pin holes to prevent rot. I would have used a footprint drill or an auger bit to create the pin holes rather than a cup drill because you can get straight through and not have the problems of lining up the two drillings.

oh wow! That sounds GORGEOUS!!
Your channel is like a joyful journey into the world of fun and entertainment. Keep making us happy with your funny videos!🥀🚦🦍
I guess you need one of those fishing magnets for finding junk in rivers and ponds. If you get one keep it far away from any electronics.
I think a video on items lost in the water is due.lol
Does Ben ever comb his hair? Lol 😂
8:11 you going to protect the inside of the raw wood in the hole?
the point of a belaying pin is that you remove it to drop the rope
Magnet fishing 😂😂
I personally hate the hand tight chucks. Try getting a keyed chuck instead. They definitely stay tight and using the three tight method is almost fool proof. (three chuck key holes enable you to tighten the chuck by tightening on each hole.)
🤔 Hmmm, dodgy, the chuck key would probably fall thro' the slats on the platform 😉🤣
Enjoy your dinner, don’t worry about the rain, and no , I don’t like the rain

I’m enjoying watching everything that you guys are doing to get your home together, but one question when are you going to start the decks?
We want them ready by Christmas, so we should be starting it soon!!
Your thick rope, cut it in half, eye spice one end on each and the other end back spice and use the rope as springers, An Idea for you to get your self a spoke shave ideal to finish jobs off
Are you going to seal the inside of the holes you just drilled? They seem like a potential site for decay if left raw...

Juggle the pins🎉...m
Do you have a plan to use the engine to generate electricity and charge your batteries when the sun is sparce?
Would a generator help recharge your system ?
Question, do you need a captains license to use Yaba when you are in certain areas?
On a boat that size you need a workshop
Don't forgrt to seal the inside of the holes you drilled for the B'pins.
Shouldn’t those wooden pins be refinished ?
They will!

If your going to keep throwing, oops I mean dropping things overboard, maybe invest in a good 25 lb. magnet
You lose a lot of stuff in the water! 🤔

Start your engine
And the doors ?????
Any boater who say they never lose anything off of their boat is not telling the truth. The sea bed is full of lost tools.
If you had to put a value on Yaba, what would it be worth?
PS: If you don't answer this, I will hold my breath and stomp my feet.
Seal the holes...
Definitely!
Dude you have a real problem losing things overboard, thing before acting and stop losing things overboard, other than that good job on your boat
Professor Confucius 😂🤣😅
A chisel could work better for accuracy...m
Get old sail material and make it into rain curtains for the aft deck ??????????????
