    Thank you for this video!
    A little bit more info: room size is 1920x1080, and all drawings are displayed in image scale 1, so they're also 1920x1080 or even bigger. Animations were done in Spine and then imported or added from included files using sprite_add.

    Damn... This game is one of the most beautiful and atmospheric GameMaker games I've ever seen, good job and may the developer keep it up! And thank you very much for the video, it is very educational for my purpose!

    Mateusz's style is so beautiful it reminds me sort of somewhere between like a flapjack style of cartooning with those thick ink lines and those water color like splotches. I'm just learning how to do this in my 20s and I'm so excited to try this style.

    What about the resolutions? What size/dimensions was the character sprite for instance? And what kind of dimensions did the backgrounds and other images use?

      Now we are asking the right questions🙂

    • @ellasketch
      @ellasketch 6 місяців тому

      Those are great questions!
      However, we unfortunately can't determine the right dimensions because they vary and depend on several factors (the design choices of the developers, the art style, and the technical capabilities of the game engine...). It's hard to know the exact dimensions of a game just by looking at it.
      Here are some standard background dimensions: HD - 1280x720 px, Full HD - 1920x1080 px, and 4K - 3840x2160 px. For characters, it can range from 16x16px, 64x64 px, and 128x128 px.
      Since I only focused on the art style, I do not have the exact technical information. 😊

      room size 1920x1080, most of backgrounds are 1920x1080, some of those moving parts in background and foreground were a bit wider. Each room has about 4 layers, main bgr - the one that's not moving with character, foreground, background, sky, various clouds layers. clouds are loaded from included files once at the beginning of the game (reusable), each new room loads all background images from included files and then destroys sprites when we leave the room. This is all caused by sheer sizes of those drawings.
