I wish I could buy two, a pity I don't have it in Brazil
Sounds very loud. I wouldn't want it on my fishing kayak
Nice and simple.
What's the battery capacity and how long could you ride with that?
My lawnmower 42v battery are 150wh each, approx. 1h run time at 4kmh médium speed
I just ordered on to put on a paddle boat., how did you build the speed control? do you have a Schimatic? I fly remote control airplanes so i have battery's and i ordered the esc for the thruster also.
my latest version used a RC car remote ... foward/reverse would remove speed span precision so i made it foward only
Fine thank
did you have to set the rudder a certain direction or did it go straight? I've been wondering if you could get by with one motor vs two. Only two directional, right? Front and back.
side thrust doesnt impact direction much , compensated by my rudder... motor can go foward+back to allow seaweed removal...might need two of these if you want to run more than 4kmh... you might want to consicer Bixpy thruster if you want speed
Hi, how much did it cost u ?
300$cad thruster + esc ... 200$cad mower 40v pack + DC converter
Not bad
Seems loud...
Nice👍👍👍good job master..🙏👍
The smile of satisfaction
I was thinking of 2 t200 thrusters mounted on the front. right, left side. For steering . Turn one off go right turn off left go left. I want to do lake trolling at say 2mph.
Maybe use the 20volt output on the dewalt 60volt battery for all day use may need a couple batterys I like your flip up design.
the efficiency curve doesnt favor 20v supply ? these thruster are made for slow cruise...i suggest to use bixpy if speed is needed ?
@@ggtr0nic I have been watching for Bixby sale. Yet to see a sale! $1100 .
in my state I have to register it like a gas boat and pay extra fees. For any electrical add on motors. And put on I'd decals.
Maybe I should just get a hobie itrek but there I go getting exercise again.

Very cool I hope it’s easy for me to build .
Did you mount the T200 backwards on purpose ? If you turned it around, It could increase the thrust: - Thrust-voltage 4s16.8v : Forward max. 5kg; Reverse max. 4kg; min. 0.01kg
good question... can you show me a picture/link about foward orientation ?
@@ggtr0nic The 3D weed guard (www.shapeways.com/product/DJCJCK3XM/t200-or-t100-thruster-weed-guard-rear) and the mounting on a ROV shows the cable on the rear. However the clip on ua-cam.com/video/5SLveWeL3XM/v-deo.html shows different.
@@Fiveblades ok thanks... in te SUP video , they use the same orientation as me : motor case foward
The t200 is like 200 bucks . Wouldn't a trolling motor be better?
MinKota 30lbs trolling is too heavy and require way more energy , brushless motor has 75%+ efficiency while brushed less than 60%...
@@ggtr0nic
Although you are absolutely correct on the weight cost, you're overlooking something on the efficiency. Yes, a brushless motor is more efficient than a brushed, but that's only one factor. The bigger factor in this case is prop efficiency. The bigger and slower moving prop of a trolling motor can produce the same amount of thrust as a tiny T200 with far less mechanical input power and that difference overwhelms the motor efficiency advantage. Take a look at the numbers.
A T200 produces 5.25 kg (11.5 lbs) thrust at 16 volts and 24 amps (384 watts).
A 30 lb thrust trolling motor produces almost triple the thrust with only about 360 watts (12 volts X 30 amps). Basically, the small thruster is wasting far more energy in creating turbulence than a trolling motor does.
@@Andy-df5fjagree : the T200 will loose efficiency at max output while giving better result at 100w or less...done my test with Minkota 30lbs 4 years ago : ua-cam.com/video/RHU1KjP1dA4/v-deo.html
@@ggtr0nic
I bought a cheap chinese brushless thruster that was advertised to produce 5kg thrust, but that was a lie. It's more like only 5 lbs at 20 amps and 12 volts. Unacceptable. I'm currently in the process of modifying it to try to improve the efficiency. If I could get 7 to 8 lbs thrust, it should be plenty for the kayak I want it to power.
@@Andy-df5fj Thrusters are for maneuvering. The thrust they list is likely a maximum at zero velocity. A 14 ft kayak would do over 4 mph with 5 lbf thrust, but that little thruster produces very little thrust at that speed.
Motors with larger diameter props accelerate a bigger column of water, so it takes less velocity for the same force.
AWESOME!
Hola como podria tener uno soy de argentina y se complica comprarlos aca no hay nada de eso

Super!!!
We’re did you get the thruster? I googled it and found nothing.

Hey, did you use the T200 with more than 20V?
no : i want to use my 42v mower pack with a DC/DC converter down to 12.5v .... this motor efficiency occur at less than 20v , approx 80 watts + 13v is the sweet spot for its efficiency ? efficiency graph are avalaible at seller website
@@ggtr0nic which DC DC converter are you considering? I want to use my 48v bike battery packs for my T200 motor at 12-20v.
