500 Days in The Long Dark - Part 23
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 вер 2024
- After surviving The Long Dark for 500 Days on Stalker mode...it's time to try the same on Interloper. There will be no firearms, looted hatchets or knives. We must make our own defenses and tools in order to survive this self-imposed challenge. It's time to see if we achieve victory or die a horrible death like everyone else on Great Bear Island.

The Long Dark Interloper is the hardest mode in Sandbox mode (The other difficulties are Pilgrim, Voyager and Stalker). The game describes that this mode is "For expert players looking for the ultimate wilderness Survival challenge."
In The Long Dark Interloper difficulty, you start with the most minimal resources, supplies are very scarce and Wildlife is rare, but it is more dangerous
- Interloper was a new game difficulty, introduced in v.364.
- The world becomes more hostile to you as you play. Global temperature drops, wildlife and fuel resources become more scarce, and Blizzards become more frequent.
- Apart from the Hacksaw and Hammer, which spawn rarely in the world, you need to create all your own improvised tools (ex. Hatchets, Knives, etc.).
- The best Clothing and Food items do not spawn.
- Wolves are more rare, but also more deadly.
- Wildlife becomes more rare over time.
- There are no firearms in the world.

Don't discount the ruined food completely, once you have cooking 5 you can eat anything other than raw meat consequence free. And yeah, killing a bear and having 30+kg of meat to eat whenever without parasite risk is amazing for keeping well fed going on interloper.
I still wish they added some kinda snow sled you could pull, to move more than 45kg around without being as slow as a glacier... Being able to move a carcass for easier harvesting without freezing to death just makes sense to me.
I thought they added a sled...maybe not. Also I think they should add where you can combine a torch and the spray can and make a makeshift flame thrower that would scare away the game that doesn't scare away easily. What do you think? Cool idea?
I like the idea, but there are enough ways to scare away moose, bears and Timberwolves. Making it even easier, would take away some of the risk of facing them, and make it less challenging in my opinion.
Would make for a cool mod though!
The sledge is coming in the next update. Travois I think is the actual name for it.
Sitting in that cave with all that meat and 3 fires has to be TLD's definition of hood rich
Meh it may be rotting but at lv5 cooking aint no one arguing
43:00 - Try putting the reticle below the wolf's feet to try and harvest it. I've noticed sometimes you have to aim there for carcasses on uneven terrain like he was there.
A tactic I have seen another player on the Interloper level use against the wolves is to throw his torch down then threaten them with a stone but it doesn't work with timberwolves or aurora wolves. p.s. I decided to join in the adventure and I bought the game. I have died from hypothermia, stepping on my fire, giving myself dysentery by accidentally drinking non-potable water and falling off the mountaineering rope because I wasn't fed enough before climbing. Fun! I've been watching your channel for a few years and I'm always excited when I see a post from Accurize 2!
It’s crazy how hard this game is and how easy he makes it seem
I'm playing on Pilgrim but admittedly decided to do Ash Canyon because I was watching someone play there. I'm writing books and one of my settings is very much like Ash Canyon and I have a character who is in a survival situation. I thought the game would help me understand what she's going through better. I does!! I survived for 15 days the 4th time around because I found the Angler's Den. That was when I fell off the climbing rope. Then I decided to let the game do a random spawn and I ended up in Mystery Lake, got myself situated and moved on to Mountain Town trying to prep for Hushed River Valley. At the same time I can't hit a rabbit with a rock to save my life. I can a mailbox but not a rabbit so I'm using snares to get enough hides for a hat and mitts. Appreciate how much I've learned from Accurize2. @@kremesauce
I took a break from everything Long Dark for awhile. Just started watching and playing again. I'm so glad you are still making TLD videos.
kinda getting there with the cooking skills. but the start of the episode was rough with all the cold and blizzard weather... good thing those extreme conditions are very rare around here. i think the coldest winter i remember was about -15°C in daytime so cold but doable with the right clothing. looking forward to the next one, keep up the great work
So thats the thing about home made breads like Bannock. They don't have the preservatives in them that hippie types complain about that make stuff like the sandwich bread you buy at the store now last weeks before getting moldy, which is why said hippy types end up tripping out on mold spores they accidentally cultivated on their "organic" breads.
Theres a reason historically being a baker was such an important job that the church often gave them special privileges. Before people figured out preservatives, you basically had to bake bread constantly to have a supply of it on hand, and pretty much had to eat it within a day or two. French toast became a thing because it was a way to make day old bread edible again so it didn't go to waste.
All this to say, next time you prepare the bannock bread, probably prioritize that over the nasty Cat Tail Stocks that don't go bad anyway.
Thanks for another great episode! I was thinking it would be funny if while you were doing your mass cooking at the bear cave, a new one spawned in next to you. 😅 I finally retired from federal service three days ago, so I'll have plenty of time (especially this winter) to catch your new videos, as well as re-watch some old favorites!
Dinner is served..for you and every meat eater in the entire game! 😂❤❤
Whatever wolf finds that alcove will be well fed.
I don’t mind watching you cook for a long time, it’s really relaxing
This a comment for community engagement, and so the great algorithm in the digital sky suggests these vids to more people. Trying to get my stepbrothers into these videos, as well as my other family. I love these vids, keep rolling and I'll keep coming back
Just found out your channel and this series. I’m currently in the third episode and just wanted to say that I’ve been enjoying your videos for a while, and keep up the nice work man!
I hope you make your way up to the crash site where the plane is at soon
I wasn’t planning on it because there, usually not much there. I might do it since you asked just to check off a box of exploration.
@@Accurize2 OK I totally understand. Thanks for the clarification I’ve been one of your followers since you started your channel.
Love it
Thanks. I’m glad you are enjoying the series.
Sometimes a dead wolf is like that since the last update. Look around at the feet and it might be there that you can harvest the wolf.
Yay! I look forward to your content! Hope everything is going well in your world, Sir!
Thanks. All is well here! Hope you are doing the same.
underrated he da goat
Hey man! The update just dropped, you could play around with the Streamer Pack, i’m sure your editing skills will shine through! Cannot wait for your take on this!
Great video as always and sence u didnt see moose spawn near trainer check lower moutian town may be a moose spawn there. Lower moutian town is m7y favorite places to hunt and one best place to raise cooking archer and skinning. Always 4 to 6 deer there and wokves and if luck moose spawn plus u can get the upper FM platue and can be a moose there to

In such situation - come from the head side and find the point few inches infront of the head, it is an old bug
Accurize. Someone said they have changed the weather dynamics. I don't know if that's true, but a lot of people are complaining about spawns and temp.
Ahh maybe. I kinda just figured it was typical interloper since I haven’t played it in a while. I kinda think having a weather threat like that is good though. It keeps me on my toes a bit more.
Miss you streaming more. I bought the long dark because I watched you play. About 2 years now. Hope you make your 500 days.
Is there a stash inside the church piano?
Maybe I'm confusing with different one?
Maybe. If so I’ve never thought to check there.
So you hunted the bear just to get a piece of him and to get under his skin.😆
I'd notice on the grey green car in the middle of the bridge where you killed the bear, you never checked it for a battery
Hey! Love your stuff. If you decide you want to try something different, I came across a pc game called “Ready or not” which focuses on essentially high stress police response calls for shooter threats. I’m going to get it for myself for my own minor training… but thought you might find it interesting.
I think the flatbread condition was around 30 when you made it. It says the condition will be 20-70 in the recipe menu.
Mooore:)
SHRIMPS ON THE BARBIE MENTIONED 🗣️🗣️🗣️‼️🗣️‼️
I like your voice !!! Its so perfect for the longdark and zomboid gameplay :P
Accurize, why didn't you eat some cooked bear meat just before you left and take a load with you???!
