Nine-Press Walking-Beam Transfer Line Defines Flexibility at Great Lakes Metal Stamping

- The Cusseta, AL plant of Great Lakes Metal Stamping minimized its overall project cost and optimized flexibility when it opted for this transfer line rather than a huge transfer press, to produce three brake-booster stampings. With the two transfers and a shuttle, they can run the line as a nine-press transfer (shown here) or any combination less than nine. It can run as two separate transfers (five-press and four-press) or as a five-press transfer with four hand-fed presses.

That is awesome!! I started my tool making career in a press room.
I used to run the Seyi transfer setup at Hendersons Automotive from mid 1990;s.Very similar to this.Roger Yates,Peter Lohmann,Phil Beadle,Jim McIntyre,Jason Van Kadteren,Des Carmody,Ron Jarman.
It's wild to me that all of that is running in sync with no issues. I'm used to the presses where I work, which are all older AIDA presses that run much larger progressive and transfer dies.
It's also strange seeing the steel come straight off the mandrel and into the press without a straightener, although I suppose if it's thin enough steel it wouldn't matter too much
Watton mould is a checking fixture manufacturer!Hope could have chance to support Great lakes Metal directly.
Best technology nine press machine
Very good aligned done.....smooth production needs skills and machinery together
Very impressive ! .
we have the 3D transfer system, more stable and fast, SPM to 30/min
tandem line
