Have you photographed with Leica Monochrom camera? What was your experience like with a digital monochrome camera? What would you say is the determining criteria that keeps you on that path of using film? Perhaps differences that you believe are important in using film vs digital. Thank you.
if I may ask something, Why is it that you mainly / only shoot monochrome? What lead you to the decision, and when is it the right choice? I myself am very unsure if i should stick to only colour or monochrome or keep mixing them up? :)
There's no right or wrong. Go with what moves you most. It's an aesthetic at the end of the day like what lens you like to use most. Colour doesn't move me at all. I like to keep things simple. I prefer tones to colour. Colour is too complicated and distracting for me; another thing to consider. And I much prefer the grain/silver halide in b/w film to colour. It's always been black and white for me; I've never used colour except at college when I was made to shoot advertising/still life stuff and professionally when clients stipulated it. There's never been a decision to make for me. My first roll of film in my first camera was b&w; my personal work has always been b&w. Go with your instincts and what works for you. There are some amazing colour photographers out there who produce wonderful work. It's too difficult for me. If you're not sure, shoot both or just shoot colour and turn it into b&w later if you change your mind. Hope this helps.
Wonderful Story Telling. Much Appreciated. Looking forward to your uploads. Cheers.
Big fan of your Video - talking format Matt, they're lovely to listen and watch when waking up and doing the house tasks.
