Love it and thank you for producing this. The history of the lesser occupants and staff of these great houses is as interesting as the history of the houses and their "important" owners. More please.
Glad you liked the video and yes, we have more films like this planned for 2022. House servants and stables staff will be amongst the first that we release.
Yes indeed! We're already planning some similar films for 2022 and the first ones will cover some of the life stories of servants that worked at Wentworth Woodhouse.
It varies, from young children, such as Lady Henrietta, to mature adults. Most of the portraiture that was at the House is long gone, but archive photographs reveal a very broad age range in terms of the subjects.
@@OfficialWentworthWoodhouse Thank you people so much for responding to everything, other country houses like Castle Howard aren't as active on their UA-cam channels as you people, I really admire you people because you do your best for the history of this wonderful place
the portrait on 2.48. . . 3rd from the left, , ,i think thats thomas wentworth,1st earl of strafford (2nd creation) . . .notice how small he is! . . .i wonder why lol.

@@danielhopwood5985 lol i thought so too, but is that really Earl of Stafford? because i thought the Wentworth Stafford and Watson Wentworth had a falling out (although the former bought a house just miles away) the Stafford were shocked when the fortune was given to the watsons... which assume the name wentworth. maybe this was the reason for such potrayal too? but again i thought they fell out and the two cousins seemed to rarely communicate

@@danielhopwood5985 I don't believe the painting includes the 1st Earl Strafford who would have been 60 at the time the portrait was painted. The Yale Center for British Art who owns the portrait lists them all as Finchs or married to a Finch in the First Marquess's case . According to their description Lady Mary (Finch) Watson- Wentworth sits centrally surrounded by her children, and the remaining female figures are her sisters and a Nurse carrying a child; the men are her two brothers and her husband. The Marquess was supposed to be very small but the portrait artist does seem to be making a point!!! The Earl of Strafford was not part of the Finch family.

Thank you! We have more in the pipeline so please keep watching 🙂
Brilliant. The first of many I hope.

Really enjoyed the information provided by the clip. Looking forward to many more. Thank you.
You're very welcome, and we do have more films on the subject of people who lived and worked at Wentworth Woodhouse for release in 2022.
♥Great history - courageous woman, indeed!
Thank you. She certainly was.
I wonder at what age people would have their portraits back then, Lady Henrietta certainly looks quite young in this portrait...
