I'm glad you and T were okay! My bestie lives in Tokyo, and I was so worried during this typhoon because I kept seeing updates on instagram. The damage (to land and lives) has been horrible. My heart also goes out to everyone who was affected by the typhoon.
Same. Those poor families. Social media is good for news coverage but also someone scary bc you’re watching and not hearing anything from the actual news centers
10:24 you can see someone walking down in the bottom right; I really hope that's a safety worker! Glad you're okay, stuff like this really breaks my heart.
You're part of my morning routine now hahah, I wake up and I immediately watch your vlog! Something about your vlogs is just very relaxing :D You're like an older sister. Will you do vlogmas as well? I saw the typhoon through everyone's insta stories and videos, it looked super scary. Glad you're safe!
Glad you and T are okay. I am also glad you vlogged about what’s happening with the Typhoon in a serious manner and kept it real . Some J vloggers are using the entire situation to get more views by using clickbait and being disasters toerists.
I wasn't able to be online watching IG Stories live, nor see them before they timed out. Thanks for making this record of what you experienced. I do recall getting the Earthquake alert, and being in shock for a moment as this whole new layer of disaster was thrown in just be be extra Japanese about it. I will say I prefer a Typhoon over a earthquake without warning. At least with storms, you can prepare.
That is another great thing about you Jenn. You have such a big kind heart and are compassionate for the plight of others. 10:27 Driving into deep water on a roadway and getting stuck is an international phenomenon. 🙄 Every year during rainy season I would tease my fire captain about having to go rescue a yahoo who did not read the warning signs or went around the barricades and got stuck because of an overflowing creek. Of course, I got the evil eye.
Jen, hope all is ok with you and T. How scary is that. Sigh. I'm landlocked, the worst I endure is a blizzard. Thinking good thoughts for you and everyone. On a side note, loved the weather guys pointer with the yellow ball on the end... LOL
Must be such a scary experience! Especially because there is nothing you can do about the situation. But glad to see you are doing well. On another note, love those glasses on you!
I feel for those affected by the storm. I’ve been through 4 really bad hurricanes (at least that I can remember) and several smaller ones. The last bad one to happen here was 2 years ago and people are still not back in their feet. I know that pain and fear all too well.
That was such a long day. Glad it's over now and you didn't get a blackout or have to evacuate. I didn't have to evacuate either and my power also never went out. But what a long day.
I did see a few of the images you and Elizabeth posted before being cut off. It wasn't a fun night not being able to know everyone was okay as soon as I should. I always feel better knowing things first-hand.
The damage level from this one was just insane, last year we got evacuated during Typhoon Jebi, mostly as a precaution as we live quiet near a big river whose banks were almost breaking. It was scary especially for the children. I also have friends who are still in evacuation centers. I always amazed at the strength of people who live here in Japan and go through these things🇯🇵❤️
You guys were hit hard in Osaka last year though !!!! They were using footage from that before this typhoon hit to remind people just how devastating a typhoon could be
Glad you’re ok, my heart goes out to all those who lost so much and the families of the people who were killed. I really don’t like big storms but we get them much more often here now. We lose power frequently, the government sold the power company to some private company and they don’t look after the equipment like the Govt. used to, especially because we live near Peggys Cove so countryside gets fixed last.
A friend of mine also in Tokyo had her place flooded. She, her husband, and kids are all okay thankfully. For some reason, all the damage isn't being reported much over in the US. A lot of people think nothing much happened. :(
I felt like that was the case because I seen some comments on other peoples videos and I was like… Do you not see the news? But it makes sense if it’s not really being shown over there. I’m glad your friends are OK, but I’m sad to hear that their house was flooded
@@LayersOfJenn Yeah, the general consensus is that everyone knows a typhoon hit but "it's okay nbd" or maybe only 5~6 people died. It seems like we have to go and specifically look for the news articles that cover it, rather than it being brought to us. It makes me uncomfortable to see this happening, honestly.
Hey I was just thinking about in the beginning where you said people have been telling you it’s a myth go tape the windows. I live in Hawaii and we have hurricane season every summer and we always tape our windows. The tape won’t stop damage but it at least keeps the broken glass together and any little bit helps, lol. thanks for doing Vlogtober!
Yeah… I was hearing about it being a myth, then I also heard that if you tape the windows the shards get huge and that becomes more dangerous? I don’t really understand it but for me I don’t have to take my windows because of the wire that’s inside of them!
Every time I watch this my hands sweat....IDK how youguys deal with it. Glad you & Sarah and Emma were all okay! I feel terrible for those who had to evacuate and all of that horribleness. I had a tornado two miles from my old house once....I was in another city visiting a friend (this was years ago) and my Mom told me not to come home until she knew it was past us. So I hid in a bathroom in a local business with a family friend (who owned the business) until my Mom said I could come home (my Dad was in another state/time zone for work and wasn't home...bad time for him to be gone). When she said I could, I BOOKED it home and stayed in my Mom's room all night LOL! It was terrifying. The sky was a pitch black I have never seen before and the wind was just insane and it was the most terrifying thing. I can't imagine typhoons and what they're like for people there.
After experiencing super typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines, typhoon Hagibis doesn't even came near the devastation and death the Philippines had experienced. But then again my thoughts and prayers to the victims, their families, and to the people of Japan
@@LayersOfJenn if they have the accordion type they are really easy too. It's nice you just pull them out when you need them and they just fold away when you don't.
I’ve evacuated from a hurricane while on vacation before and it’s not fun and scary (even in the “safe places” set up for evacuees. ) While we were able to return to our homes, some were not lucky. My heart goes out to those who lost homes or are dealing with storm damage. In the US, the Big network’s meteorologists are often sent right into hurricane areas to report live and get blown around. Do Japanese weather men/women do the same thing? I always thought it was terrible and dangerous but people seem to want to see it/how bad it actually is.
I have one fake plant! I actually don’t want plants because I am really scared of insects… And I had a huge plant before, and it died I never replaced it

It’s probably your internet or server. Sometimes when I watch other people’s videos too it does that and then I refresh or go back a few seconds to rewatch & it’s fine!
