Hi there! I have Italian citizenship and started learning Italian. I highly recommend these textbooks: Nuovo Espresso (A1-C2) and Bravissimo (A1-B2). They are amazing! Happy studies for all of us! :)

Love your resource guides, thank you for making them! One tip for native podcasts or youtube channels is to also find some in Italian on a subject you want to learn more about. For me, that's Italian cooking and goodness... there are TONS of Italian cooking videos out there, some with subtitles in Italian. I even found a great Italian learners book on cooking by AlmaEdizione called "L'italiano per la cucina"! It's meant for learners at level A2/B1 and if you're into cooking... wow is it fun, with a new recipe and story every chapter. There are also audio files available on the publisher's website. They made 2 other books like this.. one for Art and one for Opera. I have the cooking one and I love it!

Music is the reason why I am learning the music too! But my favorite Italian piece of music is Niccoló Paganini's 2nd violin Ckncerto in B Minor. Salvatore Accardo has my favorite performance of the concerto. While I doesn't "need" to know the language to play or listen to this type of music, knowing what the titles of musical movements in music scores mean surely helps with understanding musical composers' intentions for their music

Well, as a musician who just had to learn English to understand what his favorite songs said, might I suggest a certain UA-cam channel (spoiler: it’s my channel) n which I teach Italian exclusively through the translation of Italian songs? There is a section on opera arias and cultural explanations.
      Hope to see you there!!!
      Ciao!

I'm so happy to have found your yt channel that I can't express it. Thank you so much for doing these videos. I was quite desperate because my Italian course will end soon and I didn't have a clueless idea of what the h* I was gonna do. I'm very excited about your Spanish videos as well, as it's my next language objective. Nonetheless, I think is appropriate to thank you in my mother language. Muito obrigado!

When I go to Italy, I hit the bookstores, like La Feltrinella and Libraccio and I will look for books to buy there in the Italian language learning department.

I want to start learning Spanish. I have an upper intermediate level of Italian. Can you share your thoughts on what it is like to go from being a learner of one language to another when the two are similar and easily confused with each other and you don't want to lose the language you just learned?

@@ross2642 That is a very good suggestion! She had a better level of French than Italian when she started to learn Spanish and that's the same case for me. She describes how it's like learning Spanish with this language background in this video: HO IMPARATO IL SPAGNOLO DA SOLA IN 1 MESE

Hi! I find your videos so helpful and these materials for learning that you found are great! Do you have any method for finding good materials like that or do you just dig down deep into the internet?

    • @tbenavente
      @tbenavente  Рік тому +1

The latter definitely 😅 I'd say something that I find really helpful is looking for resources in that specific language, instead of just googling them in your mother tongue/English

Hi. Thank you for such a great video. I am fluent in English and Spanish and have started Italian. Do you know of or use and resources to find a pen pal (or video in today) to speak with to practice? Years ago I became friends with someone who was going to travel to South America and wanted to find a pen pal to write and email in Spanish so he could practice. Video chat was not really a thing back then so it was mostly letters and then emails. He became a great friend and would send me trinkets from South America until he moved back to his hometown in Australia. It was such a good experience and it helped him learn so much faster than with just books. Thank you. A new sub here :-)

Songs are a great tool for learning, and I know of a c h a n n e l which focuses exclusively on learning Italian through songs.
Well, it’s mine , but I cannot suggest it (even without links) because YT deletes my comments.
    But if anyone is interested…
    Thanks for this video!

I moved because my husband is a US citizen but I'm hoping to go back to Europe eventually. And there's just a lot more materials in English compared to Russian, which is why I tend to use the former

Assimil is well liked, with story books, work books. They expensive, even used, ebay, used books run 20 dollars.
