Thank you! One thing you will get here is a honest opinion (right or wrong), along with stats and a detailed thought process to back up said opinion, regardless of whether anyone else agrees with it. Truly don't understand how other people can watch him and not see the obvious talent, along with the age and history of Conner.
@@BH-mp8yn Probably Benson. He's better in the receiving game, but both are relatively similar in that they need an injury this year and next, but have a legit chance to have the job outright in 2026+.
Love Benson for the upside when/if Conner goes down. Irving should get work sprinkled in because he'd have to be a terrible rusher of the ball to be less efficient than Rachaad White was this past season (seriously, he was terrible as a rusher and they have spoken about taking away touches from him), and Dowdle should get most of the passing down work and can hopefully see the field running the ball with a washed Zeke and Dalvin Cook being his competition. Dowdle should have a really safe floor. 🔥🔥🔥
@@2phanatikly Allen is another high upside back. He should be at worst the RB getting most of the work, should Hall go down this season. Isaiah Davis might get some work sprinkled in, but Allen was reported as being a good pass catcher in camp, so potential to be a three-down RB.
Conner is a really talented back and Benson is a rookie. He looked MUCH better in their week two preseason game (had a 20yd run called back) and as recently as seven days ago is reported as 'improving rapidly', and he says it is due to increased confidence. My argument for Benson isn't that Conner is bad or even that Conner isn't more talented, just that historically 29 Y/O RBs almost never have a peak season and he has never once in his career played an entire season, along with the fact that the Cards spent high third round draft capital on him and this is the last year of Conner's contract. I could DEFINITELY be wrong about him being a league winner this season if Conner is able to stay healthy, but next year it should definitely be Benson's backfield. He's realllly good and it isn't uncommon for a rookie to start out slow, I mean even Jonathan Taylor started out slow in his rookie year (although I think Taylor is/was better than Benson). What range do you see Conner finishing (like RB_-RB_) this season?
@@Theodoredarling Agree on the ceiling! The offense is going to score a LOT of points with MHJ, McBride, Kyler and whichever RB is starting any given week. The Cards ranked 6th in Run Block Win Rate this past season at 72%.
@@TheFantasyFootballStrategist I also think that Benson is a fade in dynasty because there’s a good chance Benson might not be given the chance to break out year 1 and they’ll just draft over him or sign a FA to split the work with him year 2 like they did with Tyjae and Brian Robinson etc. I think the reason he’s still in that high end rb2 range in dynasty is because people think there’s a chance he becomes a workhorse year 2 but there’s a slim chance that happens.
@@Theodoredarling They could do that. Why do you think there is a slim chance that he becomes a workhorse? Do you just not think he's as talented as I do, maybe? They have used Conner as a featured back, and while he has a better BMI than Benson, I don't see why they wouldn't give Benson a chance. I also don't see the connection to Tyjae and Brian Robinson in the sense of the coaching staff in Arizona is a different coaching staff and they have tried to use a featured back for a while now. I don't see why they would all of the sudden change their philosophy of using a featured back... Are you worried about Brooks being in a timeshare or being drafted over? Or is your argument primarily draft capital? Because they are the exact same BMI if the BMI is the argument, and while Carolina did trade up for Brooks, they were selected 20 spots apart... I'm just struggling to see how there's specifically a good chance of them changing the way they utilize their RB room...
@@kaizersosai8560 To help contextualize his carries, most of them were when they were in obvious run scenarios trying to end the game, but he was inefficient with his carries. I'd urge you to not write people off this early into their careers. You'll miss out on a lot of good players with that thought process.
@@kaizersosai8560 While Benson isn't remotely as talented as Taylor, I remember that Jonathan Taylor looked TERRIBLE for most of his rookie season, then took off at the end of it. I think he'll get better with time, especially under the tutelage of Conner and Carter, but he could absolutely flop in the NFL. Hope I'm right here, but there's a very real chance he busts. If he does figure it out, he has massive upside in this offense.
I'm happy I cuffed him... currently on my bench but ready to go...
17 minute breakdown on my fantasy guy AND willing to hype when everyone is dropping, that deserves a like and subscribe

Definitely agree!
I think you’re spot on. If Conner goes out, he’s losing his job once Benson establishes himself
Who do you like more Corum or Benson for the future?

I hope so!! I have 20% of him in BBMV !
I got 3 guys on my bench just waiting to become fantasy legends. I went zero RB in my draft.
Benson
Irving
Dowdle

Nice... I got something similar.
Trey Benson
Braelon Allen
Bucky Irving

You are going to lose. I got Benson and Dowdle but I also drafted B Robinson and z white as starters.
Conner looked way better than Benson this offseason
