Golf+ - Amateur Daily Tournament - July 11, 2024 - Valhalla

Shot a 64 (-8). Valhalla continues to be my nemesis. Whether it's close putts, or missed greens, I just can't ever seem to put it all together to go really low. However, I'm not upset with this round. I did shoot 8 under with almost the hardest settings. Back tees, Hard pins, and Moderate winds. It's still a tough course on those settings. The big key is I didn't make any mistakes. No bogeys and I saved when I needed to. I should be top 15 easily (T-12 right now), which is decent for me at a Valhalla tourney. Being the toughest settings is probably the reason for the high finish. The tougher Valhalla is setup, the better I seem to do in relation to others, even if a few blow it up (1st place is -14, but 5th is only -10). If this was middle tees, easy pins, and low winds, 1st place would be like 21 or 22 under and 40th would be like 15 under. I'm happy with 12th or so as it's a good start to the week!
