It is always great to Dream about my idol Kris Kristofferson since I was lucky enough to see him live and in concert at The Maui Arts & Cultural Center. I went with my son Chad and it was the. BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!! I will never forget it. I hope he will come back again to The Maui Arts and Cultural Center because we would love to see him live and in concert AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

Discovered Kris and his music late, into my sixties I think but he became my favourite singer and I only heard “Thank you for a life” for the first time on the Tuesday before he went home. I didn’t even know he’d gone but I played it in church Sunday morning before the sermon because it touched me so much I wanted everyone to hear it. Monday morning I heard the sad news. But it’s not so sad. I know I’ll get to meet him where he is now.
I sincerely doubt that anyone who knows anything about songwriting would underrate Kris. Doing that would only expose their lack of knowledge. I am an amateur singer/songwriter. I'm below average as a songwriter. Kris makes legends like Lennon/McCartney, John Fogerty, Bob Dylan, and Woody Guthrie seem rather simple, and yet they are everything but that.

I remember reading an article when Kristofferson met his wife and how it was a good time to meet her . She was grounded he was invested in his daughter ‘s well being , he said she was beautiful and was assertive towards him he wasn’t sure , she , his wife now was-in college and they hooked up and she was the best thing for him and he loves babies! In 1960, Kris earned a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford University. It was at this time that he began writing music. After graduation from Oxford, he joined the Army as an Airborne Ranger Helicopter pilot at Fort Rucker, Alabama, where he achieved the rank of Captain. In 1965, Kris turned down an assignment to teach English Literature at West Point, and decided instead to move to Nashville to pursue his dream - a career in music. This was something that his parents never forgave him for because “it went against everything that they stood for”. While working to advance his music career in Nashville, Kris joined the Tennessee National Guard. Kris did not even marry Rita Coolidge until 1973, and that 7 year marriage was a very, very small part of his life. Discovered Kris and his music late, into my sixties I think but he became my favourite singer and I only heard “Thank you for a life” for the first time on the Tuesday before he went home. I didn’t even know he’d gone but I played it in church Sunday morning before the sermon because it touched me so much I wanted everyone to hear it. Monday morning I heard the sad news. But it’s not so sad. I know I’ll get to meet him where he is now.

I sincerely doubt that anyone who knows anything about songwriting would underrate Kris. Doing that would only expose their lack of knowledge. I am an amateur singer/songwriter. I'm below average as a songwriter. Kris makes legends like Lennon/McCartney, John Fogerty, Bob Dylan, and Woody Guthrie seem rather simple, and yet they are everything but that.
Only underrated by you maybe. You have no idea how many of his songs have been covered by every kind of singer.

I am very well aware of the vast amount of artists that have sung Kris' songs. When I'm on stage, I mostly sing Kristofferson's songs. As a lyric writer Kris i is in his own league.

I remember reading an article when Kristofferson met his wife and how it was a good time to meet her . She was grounded he was invested in his daughter ‘s well being , he said she was beautiful and was assertive towards him he wasn’t sure , she , his wife now was-in college and they hooked up and she was the best thing for him and he loves babies! nancy cordero, Your statement that Rita Coolidge “made that man” was just about the most ignorant thing I have ever read. You obviously know nothing about Kris before he met Rita. In 1960, Kris earned a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford University. It was at this time that he began writing music. After graduation from Oxford, he joined the Army as an Airborne Ranger Helicopter pilot at Fort Rucker, Alabama, where he achieved the rank of Captain. In 1965, Kris turned down an assignment to teach English Literature at West Point, and decided instead to move to Nashville to pursue his dream - a career in music. This was something that his parents never forgave him for because “it went against everything that they stood for”. While working to advance his music career in Nashville, Kris joined the Tennessee National Guard. Kris did not even marry Rita Coolidge until 1973, and that 7 year marriage was a very, very small part of his life. Kris Kristofferson MADE HIMSELF into the man he is today - the greatest songwriter who ever lived.
