That was some nice content. I used to drive with a class A from different distribution centers in PA to New York and Jersey. I'm from Philadelphia. Those trucks can break down at any moment and because I was a driver it didn't affect me but I see what an own goes through and you're doing good by doing pre trip inspections because nobody is going to care as much as you do. Thanks for the good content.
Be smart. Its not about what you make per week, its about what you keep per week. People underestimate how much it costs to own and operate one or these trucks. I much prefer making my 70 dollars an hour during the week, and i have my peterbilt 379 to run on the weekends if i feel like having fun. Prevailing wage should be a goal for every cdl driver. Dont settle.
@@TJBS insane. If I had known how much the overhead was, I never would've bought a truck. But ego ruins men. Think it's better to be poor and have a truck with their name on the door. Pathetic.
You need more hours a day? Then haul more than just asphalt, do gravel and loam delivery as well. Some money is better than no money. Up here, we have 10 hour work days every day. But we haul it all, and load heavy. What days we don't work, are the days that it's snowing.
Did you work for someone doing the dump trucks first or did you get your own truck right away? I drive tractor trailer 53ft dry van locally right now for a bread company. Got my cdl like 1.5 years ago. I like being home every night so im interested in the dump truck game for the future.

Good call on putting back on your stock wheels. Salt can do a lot of damage to your wheels.
