    I'm using this gear oil for my E46 316Ci Coupe, works very well. 1.25 Liter was enough for me.

      I am very pleased here also! just need to be careful at the cold start until the engine reaches the 90 Celsius temps and the gearbox warms up also. Then it's all pedal to the metal :)

    Does the gearbox in your opinion work better on Liquy Molly oil than OE Elf transmision fluid??

      Yes. i was pleased right after the change by the fact it was shifting into 1st much easier. On the low temps though i felt like it was shifting harder, at least up until the engine was all warmed up.

    Yesterday I also changed the transmission oil to 😁 the old 24 year old Renault 231000 km. That said, I used Motul Motylgear 75W80 oil to take the speeds nicely since then. The individual speed is also

      @@vfts1700 Very well then. Make sure the engine oil is replaced every 10.000km also. ideally it would be each 8000Km, that is the sweet spot.

      Asa e. A fost greseala mea atunci. Eu am cumparat uleiul, nu cei de la seevice. Insa intre timp l-am schimbat iar, de data asta cu gl 4 si ulei tot LM, insa nou aparut pe piața.     After 7years and 20thousand km. I changing gl5. mobilub 75w90 shc ls full syntetich with a top tec 5200 75w80 syntetich gl4. liqui moly . 1.4 hdi 200th.km.

      Try to keep the same viscosity and GL. It's not good to replace it with other oil aprovals and viscosity.

      appologies I made a mistake. 2.8 liters were used,s o you need to buy 3 bottles of 1 liter of this oil if you have the same car.

    When the gearbox oil should be replaced?Is there any interval?We have a same vehicle with about 70.000km and it has the factory gearbox oil(15 years old).Service book doesn't mention anything about replacement and a couple of mechanics I asked told me that the life of the gearbox oil is equal to the life of the car.I bet they meant it never needs replacement.Should we replace it or not?

      My recommendation is this. If you don't have any issues with it or you don't plan to replace the clutch kit anytime soon, leave it as it is. After I used this oil I had to replace the clutch kit 2 years after, last summer. If you really want to replace it, there is another better Liqui Moly oil you should use.
      And one more thing. Nothing is forever. Even the car's manual states it should be replaced after 60.000km. But again, if you don't have any serious issues, leave it as it is and replace it when you'll change the entre clutch.       @@m3rovingian Thank you for answering my question!In fact,I just learned that the clutch kit was replaced at about 60.000km(which means the new one has about 10.000km)but the mechanics didn't replace the gearbox oil.Instead,they putted back the factory installed oil because they found out it was in a good condition and there was no need for replacement.I believe that 70.000km might not be too much for a gearbox oil but 15 years are certainly too much.Liqui Moly are decent lubricants but I think Elf and/or Total are the best choices for Renault.At last,the capacity is 2.8 litres right?Which means I need to buy 3 bottles of 1 litre.Sorry for the long text.

      @@dimitrispapas9788 EF that thing...I never head of such thing to put back an oil after they have depleted it...But such is life.
      I trust Liqui Moly more than Elf. I used them as engine oil and LM is clear superior. About Total I don't know, because I haven't used their products.
      Yes, you'll need 3 liters overall.

      That's a very low mileage for a 15 year old car. Perhaps shorter journeys? I would definitely consider replacing the oil. It's not an expensive job.

      @@benjirich Yes,we have it as a second car and we use it only for short journeys as you said.The thing is that the manual doesn't mention anything about replacing after certain kilometers/years.And as I mentioned,we replaced the clutch kit but the mechanics used the same oil because they say that it is "for life".On the other hand,after 16 years,regardless of the fact that has only 70000km,I bet this is not an oil anymore. :P I mean I believe it has lost some of its properties.The cost is about 50 euros(30 euros 3 litres of oil and 20 euros labour).The thing is,there is a possibility of selling or scrapping the car until December.If so,we will risk it.Otherwise,we will replace the gearbox oil...

    La Clio 3 1.6 16V, se schimba uleiul la cutia automata? Am tot auzit discuții in contradictoriu. Cei de la reprezentanta chiar au zis ca nu se schimba niciodata.

      Nu se schimba niciodata ca sa-si frece aia mainile cand vei merge sa schimbi toata cutia.
      Eu stiu ca la automate se schimba obligatoriu la 60.000km. Tot ce conteaza e sa fie exact vascozitatea si clasificarea GL corecta.

    How much oil does it take? I want to change the transmission (Manual) oil in my Clio 3 1.5 DCi but I can see that in most places it's sold in 1 litre bottles. How many litres are needed for this? Thank you so much

      @@m3rovingian I thanks a lot for the link, although there's a lot of wrong info on that website, for my model (CLIO 3 1.5 DCI 2011 - 90HP) the engine oil is RN0720 5W30 and not 5W40. Also the Timming belt change is at 120.000kms and not 150.000km as it's stated there. Also there's no info whatsover on the oil/lubricant capacity of the Gearbox. Thank you so much for sharing how much did you use, I will buy 3 liters and that should do it. Thank you

      For the diesel engines indeed the 0w30 or 5w30 are the best oils to use

      m3rovingian m3rovingian that just tells you a product for the oil, nothing about the capacity. But it's fine I know the gearbox oil is GL-5 75W80. I've read on online forums the capacity should be around 3.4L, so 3 liters will be more than enough for the change. Thanks

    Use only ELF Tranself Nxx GL-4 gear oils for Renault and nothing else!
    Never ever use any gear oil that is GL-5, it will cause damage!

      Right! I have destroyed my gearbox in 1 year after using the same oil after watching this video. This gl5 destroyed all the soft metals in the synchronization gears. 1000 euros expenses to buy another gearbox.

      I recorded as much as I could. I couldn't get under the car when they poured in the new oil. But I can tell you need to fill it with oil until it drips outside a bit. That's when you know you filled it up completely.

      @@m3rovingian yeah I saw that GL4 in comments...I have 160000 but this was not change ever...so time is up for it. recently I changed motor oil and it was not big deal...but this looks more complicated for me. :-)

I did it here at almost 60.000 km but the clutch was abused by my city driving at high revs. I replaced that at 81000km and the car drives better than when it was new. Now I have 93000km made. All is perfect. Just make sure you find a good mechanic and use the best parts possible.

    Aloha boy :) :D its me your best friend :D i see this video because youtube... hmm i never change elf oil NFJ for another. Here i am not sure if it is good. Many people says that for renault cars only elf because if you cant risk. I really dont know. Elf NFJ originaly support API GL4 and not 5 hm. On Oilspecifications is API GL5. It is better this oil? I never change brand so this is why i am asking. And also i need replace this after 6 years maybe..And yesterday i saw exact oil from Liqui moly and also i saw this oil LIQUI MOLY TOP TEC MTF 5200 75W-80 which is API GL4. I used Liqui moly oil guide (for right select).

      ​@@m3rovingian Yea...you replaced clutch because you accelerating up to 5000 RPM? i do it sometimes (because maintenance) etc.. There will be no problem with this..Clutch is only used if shift gear

      @@mptraxx5317 I put the clutch replacement on the bad quality of the parts the car came with from factory. I also had to replace the entire suspension because I had 3 springs broken. A friend of mine said he never heard of such a thing. Now the new clutch which I replaced last year feels better than when the car was brand new. Don't worry about the revs. Just don't abuse it. In my case since I drove the vas majority inside the town it was expected. Make sure you don't abuse the revs in the first 2 gears. from 3 and 4 you can get serious with the revs. :)

      @@m3rovingian I had aslo replaced front springs because i jumped into a hole :D bad road :D i repaced rear shock absorbers i do it yourself with 2 jacks :D risky but ... :D replaced. i did also spark plug replace battery is from 2009 second :) It is oil real better than elf? Now Elft NFJ does not exists and was replaced by ELF NFX which is mix NFJ and NFP as one product.

      I already replaced the entire clutch kit now. The 81.000km I drovemostly in town and th high usage of engine break tooka toll on my car's clutch. Now with the new one and the new Liqui Moly MTF 5200 75W-80 GL4 Gearbox Oil I put in it it works better than it did when it was brand new.

      @@m3rovingian engine break does not cause clutch wear. Leaving clutch pedal half way down for too long generates heat and clutch begins to wear. Also higher rpms when taking off and leaving your foot on clutch pedal make clutch degrade faster.
      You should not worry about engine breaking as long as you lift your foot all the way up from the pedal smoothly.

    Deci cum se simte? Sa stii, cel mai bine percepi in mers sau la rece....pe loc daca schimbi vitezele practic simti doar lipsa/ prezenta jocului in timonerie ( schimbator si restul),mai putin uleiul...
    La iarna sa vezi dimineata la prima pornire cum se simte....sau cand este ff incinsa, cum se aude si cum schimba...
    Ffff curat uleiul....baiatul avea partial dreptate, mai mergea ceva, dar nu ai facut nimic rau, trebuie doar atentie cand il pui pe cel nou sa nu bagi mizerie inauntru....

      Mie imi place rezultatul! Chiar daca nu e ce speram eu, din necunoastere, totusi in viteza 1 si in marsarier mai ales intra acum perfect. Inainte imi agata in marsarier si trebuia sa eliberez putin ambreiajul sa o ia incet de pe loc, pentru ca levierul de la schimbator sa mearga in marsarier pe toata cursa. Acum problema aia a disparut. Eu zic ca am facut bine. Se vedea si in vascozitate ca cel nou e superior. Ala vechi, chiar daca era inca transparent, sunt sigur ca era inferior la ce am pus eu acum.
      O sa-ti spun in timp cum se simte, mai ales ca o sa fac maine un drum lung.
      Faza aiurea e ca am vrut sa schimb si lichidul de frana cu Ferodo 5.1, si s-a rupt purjorul de la etrierul stanga fata cand a incerct sa-l deschida...De asemenea cilindrii receptori de la ambele roti din spate sunt intepeniti. Am dat deja comanda la Autoeco pentru etrier TRW, set placute de frana fata TRW si cilindrii Ferodo. Totusi cred ca o sa le zic sa trimita doar etrierul si cilindrii receptori, iar placutele de frana le iau originale de la reprezentanta Renault, sa nu ma doara capul, chiar daca ma vor costa 170 lei placutele.
      Etrierul e 219lei, iar ambii cilidrii sunt 170...Am ramas cu un gust amar, insa asa-mi trebuie daca am stat 6 ani fara sa bibileasca nimeni țumburușii aia de la frane. S-au ruginit calumea.

      A inceput sa-mi apara si rugina la puntea fata, de la cum a stat masina in apa pe strada cand ploua la mine. Ai vazut ca se face paraias. Cred c-o sa iau solutie Nigrin din Dedeman, ca sa stopez rugina si apoi un spray cu zinc peste.

      @@m3rovingian Hmmm...la aerisitoarele de la frana trebuie un ritual...cu o sapt inainte sa le desfac, eu dau cu degripant si lichid de frana acolo pe filet...dar la greu....odata deafacute, cand le repun adaug si vaselina in capul lor si pe filet....nu am avut prob...
      Nu arunca banii pe placute de origine, alea trw sunt ff bune daca nu mai bune decat cele oem....renault nu face piese, ci le cumpara de la trw ate etc....iar treaba cu aerisitorul se rezolva, inclusiv daca e blocat in etrier...
      Stiu cum e cu cilindrii pe spate, iam schimbat si eu acum 100 000 km.....e ceva de munca

      La Mine aerisitorul s-a rupt pur si simplu deci nu mai e nimic acolo, mustiucul ala cu ventil, sau ce-o fi.
      Bine atunci, o sa las comanda asa cu placutele TRW.
      La Renault m-ar fi costat etrierul 500 lei refurbished sau 800+ nou....
      Cilindrii cred ca voiau 300 lei pe unul...

    Sincer, imi pare rau ca ai bagat LM. Ai dat multi bani pe o calitate mediocra. Sunt sigur ca uleiul Total/Elf este mai bun si mai ieftin.

      Pur si simplu n-are cum. Am folosit elf la motor. LM e peste cu mult. Insa iti respect opinia.

      @@m3rovingian Daca urmaresti atent, e un tip Stephan de la LM care vorbeste cu mecanicii americani. Le explica uleiurile LM si incearca sa i convinga(fara reusita, zic eu) ca grupa de uleiuri de baza 3(hidrocrackat) este sintetica, cand defapt este minerala. Liqui Moly vinde ulei mineral cu aditivi din grupa 3 si il da drept ulei sintetic. Adevaratele uleiuri sintetice sunt din grupa 4, sau PAO - PolyAlfaOlefine.
      Total si Elf vand uleiuri din grupa 4 la jumatate din pretul lui LM, care vinde grupa 3, inferioare. Aici ma refer la uleiul de motor, dar eu zic ca se aplica la companie.
      PS: Acum am vazut ca e brandul tau favorit. Al meu e Total. Vezi ce zice 99Vehicles de Motul, Liqui Moly...de Castrol nu mai zic, nici nu mai trebuie mentionat, ca e jale.
      Urmareste canalul ProjectFarm care testeaza uleiuri, chiar si LM.

      @@aig0039 Am urmarit si Project Farm si sunt abonat si la 99vechicles. Eu sa stii ca am fost foarte multumit de comportamentul la motor. Cu Elf mi se supraincalyea motorul cand mergeam pe coclauri in Pestera Bran, Drumul e foarte abript, desi e asfaltat. Cu LM nu mi+a pornit niciodata racirea. Cu Elf imi amintesc ca da. Au trecut multi ani de atunci. Din cate am inteles si LM vinde ulei full sintetic: Sznthoil High Tech. Dar nu pot crede ca toate celelalte fac parte din grupa 3. Cu tot respectul pentru 99vechicles. n+o sa ma apuc acum sa bag Ravenol in masina ca le vinde el pe site :) Urmatorul schimb de ulei il fac cu Synthoil high Tech. Cel pe care-l am acum e LM verde ala Molygen, iar foarte bun. Dar synthoil-ul ar trebui sa fie si mai si, tinand cont de pret.

      @@m3rovingian Da, dar iti dau exemplul meu. Norma de ulei VAG 504/507. Varful de gama Total Ineo LL, 100% PAO, 26 lei/litrul, Liqui Moly 504/507- 50 lei. Unde e raportul calitate-pret??
      Liqui Moly mi se pare foarte scump pt ce ofera. Asta e parerea mea. Ulei la supra pret, Castrol mi se pare calitate foarte slaba. Si Motul e scumpicel. Faza cu made in germany, mi se pare trasa de par. Au uleiuri de 60 lei litrul doar pe marketing, nimic deosebit.
      La ProjectFarm LM a pierdut din prima tura in fata unui ulei de supermarket de 4 dolari litrul.

      @@aig0039 LM are 20 de tipuri de ulei full szntetic. printre ele se numara asa cum ti-am zis, Synthoil HT si cel 0w40 Synthoil Energy sau ceva de genul asta. E posibil sa-l iau pe ala de la Automoly. Costa 283 lei 5 litri cu transport gratuit. Si synthoil HT 5w40 e deosebit dupa mniune, insa fiind sub 249 lei m-ar costa si transportul asa ca s-ar apropia de pretul celui de 0w40. EU sunt foarte multumit de marca fata de ce am incercat pana acum: Elf si Motul. O sa vin cu mai multe review uri in viitor dupa urmatorul schimb de ulei.

      I had it for 6 years and almost 60.000km. Also the oil I used Liqui Moly is better quality then the Elf used in my Renault. I want to have the car running in the best way possible for years to come.

      @@joesaric1 That is a different viscosity. This one is 75w80. I like Liqui Moly the most.

      @@m3rovingian I put in my yaris Mobil1 Shc 75w-90 as specified originaly, 1.9 litres, but the old oil was black and almost like water. It has been 10 years and 44.000 km in the car, still first gearbox oil.
