11 aquariums in my room and not one is less than 50gal. I am growing out two bichirs. I also have a spare 125 sitting outside growing plants for next year. That will house the 2 bichirs and 10 silver dollars. Along with a Pictus cat and a bunch of Corey Doras...Nice looking Senegal..
They move around from time to time... Especially when or if you move decor around or it's not enough hiding spots... But I personally wouldn't keep them in less than a 125... Because the smallest of the bichirs species can grow up to 24 inches long... But i have to say thats definitely the most healthy biggest Senegal bichir on UA-cam... Great job on taking care of it
Not sure what size tank this is. Guessing it's a 20 long or 20 gallon high based on the depth I can see. That Bichir is just going to keep growing. It needs to be in a 40 gallon breeder now just looking at it's size, however it will eventually need a 75 gallon. So you just might think about getting the bigger tank (75 gallon) ASAP for the fishes well being.

but usually the albino bichir (smallest bichir) in captivity grows to about 12-14"

You need a bigger tank
Cool fish!
I would add in a couple real plants. It did my tank wonders once i did that.
Honestly this is the weirdest fish Ive ever seen
It’s a type of polypterus. These predate the dinosaurs
