Thanks a million for providing opportunity to listen to this gem and pass on to next generation so that they can develop their taste. To me Ustadji probably redefined Tabla as a sweet melodious instrument
you prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my brother recently =)
@@rishiramnath2764 bro, rela is one of the toughest part of Tabla. So, it's quite difficult to play easily. It may cause to you for a pain on your elbow for few seconds, or on muscle you'll feel little pain for few second. So it's very difficult to play, it needs advanced hands to play. So, I'm giving the main thing but don't try to play! This rela's main interesting part is the usage of bayan with 'thun' bol. This rela basically based on Tit kata Gadi Ghena bol. This Tit Kata Gadi Ghena bol will be played in 4 into or 8 into speed or 16 into speed! In Vilambit laya, this rela will be played in 16 into speed. So now you can understand why I'm warning. And it's filled mostly with tirkit bol

This solo is taken from Gottlieb's "Solo Tabla Drumming of North India". Here is another tabla solo by Ustad Keramatullah Khansahib ua-cam.com/video/CbJUDFcgO8M/v-deo.html
Yes. This is part of a series of recordings made in the early 70s by Robert Gottlieb known as “The Major Traditions of North Indian Tabla Drumming”. There is also an accompanying book, which is very worthwhile reading. The other tabla maestros featured were: 1) Inam Ali Khan - Delhi gharana 2) Habibuddin Khan - Ajrada 3) Keramatullah Khan - Farrukabad (ie this recording) 4) Pandit Kishen Maharaj - Benares 5) Wazid Husain Khan - Lucknow 6) Ustad Alla Rakha - Punjab
