Laura, I think it’s great what you’re doing and building your own investment pot will be inspiring for many! I love that you have come here to talk about small dividends! It’s a beautiful thing to see them come in every month and build up overtime! If you keep it up just wait for the month where you break £20!!

You are doing really well! The longer you stay in the market, the more experienced you become. Remember not to put all your eggs in one basket and don't invest money you can't afford to lose. In the long run, if you invest in well-established companies through Dollar-Cost Averaging, you are almost guaranteed to make good returns. Keep up the great work and enjoy the journey to financial success!

Omg, I am so happy I found your page! I just started investing myself, and seeing all these UA-camrs with over 500K portfolios has been overwhelming. It's refreshing to see more realistic results.

I do find your videos interesting, but wondering why you favour dividends? I lean towards index funds (The Vanguard FTSE global all-cap acc fund mainly). I've seen 50% growth in the last 2.5 years and done absolutely zero work. I just pay into it regularly.
"Time is going to pass anyway" - I'm going to copy that for when I'm trying to persuade my family to sort out their pensions/savings, thanks.

I have started a dividend portfolio, and am going to try and get it to pay out every month, I do already have a few dividend payers, but I never really took any notice,
First was Greencoat wind, which I bought a 1000 shares, having forced octopus energy to pay me back my over payments, but I have a couple of others, that I have a few hundred pounds in,
First goal, to get paid a £1 a day for 2025, I think I am on around 50p a day, though it’s paying sporadically and not every month.

I love the concept of moving up through currency. I haven’t worked it out for this year yet. Surely I’m in the silver now!

£60 a year on an app you like, that could be more money from a paying dividend. I got up to about 6k on my trading 212 ISA and had to withdraw about half as labour cancelled Rail project down York that I had just started on. Back in work now but with Xmas and kids I doubt I will be putting much back in until January.
I'm from Sunderland and you must be from The Newcastle area? Nice to see your progress.

@lauralevelsup have you had a look at the snowball analytics app? You can set your 100k mark or let it tell you when you will hit your targets for dividend payments. I think they do a free monthly trial, it's really good because it shows you your yearly dividend payments and has a load of progress charts. I find it motivated you to invest more.

@@Foster_85 I pay the £60 a year for Freetrade, but I do have a portfolio with them of £50k, and a similar amount in trading 212,
I am considering moving, but also starting a SIP, so that may not matter
You get used to trading 212, and you can separate your dividend payers from your growth companies by putting them in a custom pie, but I am too lazy to bother with that, 212 is the best isa currently and you need it into an isa account, because in a few years you will have to be careful with tax,
I emptied my general investment account with Lightyear into 212, about a year ago, when my account had losses, and if I hadn’t done it then, I would be paying tax to move it today, sort it out now or be forced to sort it when it’s inconvenient.

Laura i suggest you invest in low cost indexfunds as you are young and growth will suit you better than dividends will. Many people falsely believe that dividends are free cash but actually they are irrelevant. Do not get me wrong they are an important part of total returns but those dividends are paid out of the value (stock price) of the company. This means that effectively you are taking a pound out of your left pocket and putting it in your right pocket. The reason people do not see it that way is because they get it in cash instead of numbers which is just a mental accounting bias. Only total returns matter
