you may be laughing however after testing horus runick i can say that that deck is actually insane you draw up to 10 cards per turn (but 7 cards almost always) your lvl 8 draw punishes your opponent hard for outing fountain hugin is an insane protection for both fountain your monsters and your permanent spell the trap is insane discard fodder for hugin too you got insane recoursion because those lvl 8 just keep resummoning hugin and glory synchro into chaos angel making space in the extra monster zone you always win in time because of coach king and your beatsticks your link game can be wild there are very annoying and good XYZ 8 plays like the new extra deck rip coach king (which lets you draw even more) a monster negate a spell negate basically anything you want your permanent thins all of your hours engine cards into your grave so you keep drawing your runick interruptions and the board is super sticky it does die to well placed handtraps tho
this deck just needs more ways to get to sarcophagus and either protect or recur sarcophagus. If you get sarcophagus on field this is as many rank 8's as you could ever want and rank 8's are fantastic
If Sarc is removed you get to trigger all the effects, drawing, adding back from grave/banished, etc. You can draw/add back handtraps and be safe from battle unless they nuke your board after. With Protector up getting nuked isn't even the end.
Yeah, I've been messing with this deck and it is fantastic. Rank 8 toolbox is so good along with There Can Be Only One trap card. So far the only deck I lose to so far is Exosisters which shut me down completely.
I can imagine this being a similar situation to the adventure engine. This is a 7-9 card engine that gets you easy Rank 8’s. You can either get 2 interruptions, or a free draw 3 with this deck. And it’s an engine that has 6 starters. I imagine this will work with any deck that doesn’t want their cards in the hand and likes the graveyard, or has space for what is essentially a free engine. It also gives every deck a free grind game as once it’s set up, each Sarcophagus becomes a Soul Charge.
Yeah. 3 of the first horus, 3 of the sarcophagus, 1 each of the other horuss. Gives you easy rank 8s and grind game. Pretty good brick to payoff ratio and presumably even if you only draw the bricks you can discard them for something
From what the direct Japanese translation for Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV (4/6/8), it's "Horus' Black Flame Dragon". Meaning that the Black Flame Dragon isn't Horus, but his pet which makes sense since he's the Falcon God. Maybe Horus will be a Rank 8 XYZ monster for this small archetype.

Can't help but think of runicks with this. Runicks are great discards bc they replenish themselves, the bricks can be discarded for hugin, hugin protects your sarc and trap, this engine doesn't have a field spell to compete with fountain. I imagine an end board of giantrainer plus chaos angel with fountain sarc and hopefully the trap plus 400 cards in hand. Horus package is 3 searcher, 3 sarc, 1 of each of the others, 1-3 traps, 3 trade in and 3 tcboo.

So I feel like there is a way to consistently get into the horus cards as long as your able to make timestar magican a rank for that needs 2 lvl 4 pendulum magican monsters because timestar is a generic dark spellcaster searcher. If your able to setup scales with pendulum call or shs engine and harmonizing magician to special another magician from deck you can make timestar and search for glory of horus. For example say you open skullcrobat joker and shs prodigy, normal joker activate effect add harmonizing, activate prodigy scale benki, synchro a, lvl 8 scale prodigy, pendulum summon harmonizing activate effect summon celesial magican overlay for timestar magican, activate effect and add glory of horus. There is probably a better way to accomplish this but that is what I came up with after 5 minutes.
I know it might not be the meta way to play the engine, but Horcust has so many little synergies that it's crazy. -Naturally, knightmare, skeleton, and world wand make perfect discard fodder (harp horror to 3 when ;_;) -No restrictions on the horus monsters, so in addition to free rank 8 plays you get free link materials -Ding is a rank 8, and also protection for sarcophagus -World wand is a level 8, giving you another trade-in target -shitloads of draw power, with trade-in, orcustrated return, and giantrainer I'm still experimenting, but this deck is so much fun
From what I tested small world is an absolute must in the deck whether you reveal another level 8 or a hand trap you’ll have access to glory of Horus which gets you sarcophagus
a stratos for the sarc is the obvious fix, but i think a field spell that searches it on activation and protects either the sarc or your grave from your opponent would be cool
If the deck turns out to be consistent, i think it can be a deck that Tri-Brigade can support. For the Draw 3 with Coach, you can use engines like Mercurier-Albion-Branded Sword for "free" discards + Nerval/Kitt and 3 of the 4 are Tri-Tipe monsters(Beast, Beast-Warrior, winged-Beast). It may be copium, but set a Draw 3+ building GY is pretty good. It depends on how consistent it gets
Discard 2 runick spells for the sarcophagus’ 2nd effect, activate fountain and 1 more spell, get 2 foolish burial and retain hand card advantage. This is best case scenario but I see why it might be use
I think the goal of this deck is to force your opponent to clear the sarcophagus and than we go + infinity. The target protection actually make sense if they are trying to force the destruction of sarc.
Been testing Runick with it - seems pretty solid. You are likely to draw the sarcophagus/its searcher with the Draw 3 and it can make Chaos Angel super easily after you put the searcher Hugin on the field. Generally, very control-heavy but that's a playstyle I can get behind.
I think floodgates will have to be the life of the deck in the ocg. It’s something that eventually must be removed from the field to trigger effects while comboing well with the roach to try to dig for sarc to start the engine or even just end the game on the spot. I could also see some deep draw shenanigans with coach king and trade in synergy but we’ll see ig
I like how the spell is a soul charge for 4 every turn from turn 3 onwards. And you can protect it by bouncing it back to hand using Champion Sargas's effect. Also souls dumps Imsety albeit that probably isn't that useful.
The problems of the deck are obviously hand-traps, but I feel like you can easily work around those. Horus Cards plus Trade In give you a shitload of draw power. Since you don't need your normal summon you could even play Aqua Dolphin to snipe Ash. Even better is probably Dragged Down Into The Grave if you can manage to set everything other than the horus cards. That way you can also rip the hand traps. The Ishizu cards let you mill even more and every mill just means extenders. If you want to go full turbo you can even play Into The Void, since you won't have a hand after using Sac four times anyways. Also, normal summon Infernity Necromancer just sounds funny in this deck. I feel like there are just a bunch of tools to abuse this
Tri types, so you can use a small package to send kitt with the horus searcher, which is basically full tri-combo. Though you dont really wanna get rid of them from the grave with banishing them off, it can be a good backup plan to have a nervall in grave for emergencies. Also, you always threathen OTK with draglubion. Summon drag, summon numeron dragon, summon another rank8, and attack with 16K.
My thoughts: This has the potential to OTK with big monsters, and establish a 4horus board. The sarcophagus protection effect is better than you think: they can’t lightning storm/raigeki/dark hole your board because it doesnt target. And mass destruction would be the biggest weakness of the deck. It forces the opponent to target a card and remove it from the field and your monsters would trigger. You can splash ishizu cards, tearlaments, adventurer engine to this deck. But it loses to shifter and other banish effect. Also like in runik, if your opponent remove your spell, your deck is dead. You dont have a built in omni negate, or follow up if your sarcophag is removed. I think this deck is rogue at best, but a really good one and it would see a few tops on t2 events.
Imma be real the danger dark world build could make this deck crazy somewhat… get enough dangers on field skulldread link then draw the sarcophagus summon a full field of Horus monsters potentially otk time to craft the dangers
When I first saw these I thought they were awful, but then more I think on it, these seem really usable, maybe not as they're own deck but with a good engine like adventure, I think a midrange rank 8 toolbox style of deck would be very solid.
feels like this deck need limitation like eternal soul (destroy your card if the main spell/trap get destroyed) but instead this deck just plus if the sacrophagus is removed. this archtype could easily break meta like crazy with more consistency support as this is only just the first wave
If they get something that get the spell/trap more consistently they would actually be used competitively Other than that its just runick horus control With a game plan of keeping them for the first turn the on the 2ed you go for coash maybe sargas And if you dont have a good floodgate or good amount of runick monsters in first turn you straight up go for coach
The archtype loses hard to Evenly Match since the goal is to put 5 cards on field. It’s true that it provides 2 free XYZ( either for control or for F0). What I like is that they raise the ceiling of rogue strategies like Ra: putting 3 Trade In and potentially 4 fodder tribute with the Egyptian flavor sounds amazing to me
You don't really need to keep them on the field. I feel the way to go is more like you go for Coach, draw 3 (or any other generic rank 8s) and then use the trap to flood them back during the opp's turn.

You would have to have some good engines or draws in order for the two cards in hand to be worth it, or to have more than that after sending 3 cards from hand, and 4 if you open with pharaonic sarcophagus instead of the searcher
It is nice that you will be able to summon the Horus Lvl 8 on turn 3. Dump lvl 6 with spell summon it with trap by baiting something out attack and summon lvl 8 in endphase. Its not an easy effect but the reward of a one sided IO is worth a few hoops
so they either need a durendal/abyss actor field spell to force removal OR they are meant to be played alongside floodgates so the opponent has to remove them
So we play Runicks. Baits Ash, baits Ogre, can dig for horus starters, doesnt mind getting discarded. Imsety + Hugin is also a chaos angel with both effects which solves the BP problem. Also Assault synchron is easy baronne lines to protect your sarc from ogre. Overall I think the main boards the deck will make turn 1 will be a rank 8(probably NR38) + Hapy and Duamutef as back up. From then on you will go through a giantrainer every turn as it frees its materials instantly so you can resummon hapy and duamutef to keep on board as removal deterrents. Also obviously just huge kill pressure with all 4 together as duamutef grows to 4800. It would be an absolute shame if the only reason this deck didnt see meta play would be cuz they didnt give them enough consistency pieces.
Exchange of the Pharaonics, then Normal Summon Qardan. But since Sarc's Third Effect occurs during the Damage Step... How does this deck deal Battle Damage? ... Maybe this deck turbos out the Sky Overlord Heliopolis, then use the XYZ Card that floats Heliopolis into Draglubion to go Numeron Dragon for-Game? Also, WAY TO COACH, GIAN!
Ah, like Exosisters? I certainly hope not, because the reality is you can't force your opponent to do shit, and you end up getting utterly destroyed by them.
Support for shaddols different attributes and graveyard effects also a good way to discard cards for those juicy effects. Honestly im sad shaddols dont have a faster way to search their spells/traps or a way to get them from grave without sending a fusion to grave
Runicks clearly work the best with this deck, its not even a debate, draw 3 discard runicks add them back. Opponent has to try and break that board with a battle phase only.
ohh cool i really like the agypten gods (not sliver etc ;D) so really liked the anubis cards sadly they are no archetyp but maybe the horus cards will be my cards =)
Ich würde magicians Souls für das Deck vorschlagen. So kannst du den Sucher in den Friedhof bekommen und vlt in was gutes ziehen. Aber das Deck sieht mir eher nach Ner otk Maschine aus. Finde es etwas schade, dass das Deck gegen ein raigeki verliert, aber wir werden ja sehen, wie es wird. 🤷♂️
This would be sick. But the way they have the archetype set to play out...I think the go-to would be a Rank 8 Xyz retrain of Big Papa Horus, getting more effects turned on based on the number of Horus materials attached to it. Or a main deck Horus Lv8 retrain that respawns itself from the grave, by either having or saccing a certain number of Horus monsters on the field. To fit with the Sarcophagus theme/playstyle, kinda like how Lubellion works with how Bystials summon themselves but doesn't summon itself the same way.
Think this new archetype is more of a fun gimmick relating to the Egyptian mythology. Horus basically died and came back, which is the whole mechanic of these cards. Sucks it isn’t actual support for the lv archetype tho. Could’ve done a fan service like the Egyptian Gods support.

feels like this deck need limitation like eternal soul (destroy your card if the main spell/trap get destroyed) but instead this deck just plus if the sacrophagus is removed. this archtype could easily break meta like crazy with more consistency support as this is only just the first wave
If they get something that get the spell/trap more consistently they would actually be used competitively
Other than that its just runick horus control
With a game plan of keeping them for the first turn the on the 2ed you go for coash maybe sargas
And if you dont have a good floodgate or good amount of runick monsters in first turn you straight up go for coach
The archtype loses hard to Evenly Match since the goal is to put 5 cards on field. It’s true that it provides 2 free XYZ( either for control or for F0).
What I like is that they raise the ceiling of rogue strategies like Ra: putting 3 Trade In and potentially 4 fodder tribute with the Egyptian flavor sounds amazing to me

You don't really need to keep them on the field. I feel the way to go is more like you go for Coach, draw 3 (or any other generic rank 8s) and then use the trap to flood them back during the opp's turn.
@@tylerschuler6853 why would you use a single Omni negate XYZ when having a monster negate with Galaxy lord AND a Spell negate with Harbinger? To name a few of good XYZ couples
@@MateFold They are asking because you said the board loses to evenly matched, implying that there is no way to make a rank 8 that can negate it. The only one is lancelot.
You would have to have some good engines or draws in order for the two cards in hand to be worth it, or to have more than that after sending 3 cards from hand, and 4 if you open with pharaonic sarcophagus instead of the searcher

It is nice that you will be able to summon the Horus Lvl 8 on turn 3. Dump lvl 6 with spell summon it with trap by baiting something out attack and summon lvl 8 in endphase. Its not an easy effect but the reward of a one sided IO is worth a few hoops
Punk and Runick can draw many cards in their standard gameplay so they can act as an engine
I don't think it's that inconsistent if you can play 2 desires, 3 trade ins and dangers if you want
so they either need a durendal/abyss actor field spell to force removal OR they are meant to be played alongside floodgates so the opponent has to remove them
Playing dangers for more eights and for draw power seems like the best play because these cards want to get into the grave

So we play Runicks. Baits Ash, baits Ogre, can dig for horus starters, doesnt mind getting discarded.
Imsety + Hugin is also a chaos angel with both effects which solves the BP problem.
Also Assault synchron is easy baronne lines to protect your sarc from ogre.
Overall I think the main boards the deck will make turn 1 will be a rank 8(probably NR38) + Hapy and Duamutef as back up.
From then on you will go through a giantrainer every turn as it frees its materials instantly so you can resummon hapy and duamutef to keep on board as removal deterrents.
Also obviously just huge kill pressure with all 4 together as duamutef grows to 4800.
It would be an absolute shame if the only reason this deck didnt see meta play would be cuz they didnt give them enough consistency pieces.
Hugin is enough to protect sarc, and vanguard can recycle hugin back to extra deck

Support for shaddols different attributes and graveyard effects also a good way to discard cards for those juicy effects. Honestly im sad shaddols dont have a faster way to search their spells/traps or a way to get them from grave without sending a fusion to grave
The graveyard effects don't work, unfortunately, since sarc sends for cost, and shaddols need to be sent with an effect

If you put Danger Engine and Small World. Theres no way you cant draw the Sarcophagus or add it consistently unless u very2 unlucky.

They just decided to make the worlds Stickiest Archetype but the end board is just haha vanilla 2500-300ATK Monsters
Runicks clearly work the best with this deck, its not even a debate, draw 3 discard runicks add them back. Opponent has to try and break that board with a battle phase only.
Just make a trap that makes send cards into fuel

Ich würde magicians Souls für das Deck vorschlagen. So kannst du den Sucher in den Friedhof bekommen und vlt in was gutes ziehen. Aber das Deck sieht mir eher nach Ner otk Maschine aus. Finde es etwas schade, dass das Deck gegen ein raigeki verliert, aber wir werden ja sehen, wie es wird. 🤷♂️

watch they release a Horus boss that summons a Horus monster frrom your hand/Deck ignoring Summoning conditions to promote their old man.
This would be sick. But the way they have the archetype set to play out...I think the go-to would be a Rank 8 Xyz retrain of Big Papa Horus, getting more effects turned on based on the number of Horus materials attached to it.
Or a main deck Horus Lv8 retrain that respawns itself from the grave, by either having or saccing a certain number of Horus monsters on the field. To fit with the Sarcophagus theme/playstyle, kinda like how Lubellion works with how Bystials summon themselves but doesn't summon itself the same way.

Think this new archetype is more of a fun gimmick relating to the Egyptian mythology. Horus basically died and came back, which is the whole mechanic of these cards. Sucks it isn’t actual support for the lv archetype tho. Could’ve done a fan service like the Egyptian Gods support.
