Thank you so much for your kind words Nina. If you want the wall to last clean it well first, I recommend using the best quality thinset mortar for out side in the weather. You can buy tools to cut the tile, but I enjoy breaking them with a hammer and making a design also.
Let me know if you have questions.

This is a real labour of love. I really like how you show that it's a time consuming project, can't be done in a day.
I've been wanting to do something like this to add some pop of colour in my garden. I'm thinking I'll do the stair risers going to the top section of my garden, so that I'm working in manageable chunks.
I just can't decide if I want it to be one continuous image/theme, or just to see what happens as I go, and let it be colourful and chaotic!

Thank you so much for you kind encouragement... this section took about 2- 3 months working 2 days a week with lots of help.. the full wall shown in the linked videos, it actually was a process of 4 years... with some months break in between the sections.. I don't actually know how long it took.. but a long time

@rn9119 Thank you for your kind encouragement... Yes.. it did take a long time , i did it in 4 sections, about 1-3 days a week, and at times a few months in between... and i had alot of help from time to time... but the whole process was 4 years!! Don't be discouraged with the long process... in the end it is a unique art form that could last for decades if done right... the ancient ones are hundreds of years old !!

So what iv done is draw my design on butchers paper which I lay on the kitchen table, I then covered it with flyscreen wire & I have glued my coloured glass things onto that, I’m unsure if this will work but I’m doing it lol 😂... Next I’m going to do something with tile your wall has inspired me ❤️ I told my husband if there are only 2 cups, 2 plates & 2 bowls in the draw I’m hard at it somewhere haha 😂... This was done in Istanbul and there is a tiny shop with so many peices of beautiful old colored tile that I usually buy peice by piece. Incould not do these mosaics without this shop!! In the states you may have to order it online and buy it by the box.. the other option which I did is ask tile shops to see their depot, or back room for outdated tile or tile scraps. Or 2nd hand shops. Also old plates .and colored glass can be used. But I love that Toto Ceramic tile shop. Hope you find some
