A (at the time ) current Surrey fast bowler played a one off game in a Bournemouth side as a favour to one of his mates , well the teams rule at the time was that you have to earn your place in the first team so this fast bowler played for the second's , he turned up and opened the bowling , the first 2 balls the batsman didnt see and the 3rd hit his bat , he didnt hit it ,it hit the bat and rocketed through the slips ( who didnt see it either) and crashed into the boundary !! He didn’t get dropped, he’s still Australia’s 1st or 2nd choice pacer after Cummins, Hazlewood and Starc. You’ll be surprised about how many international crickets play grade cricket for their clubs in the off season
There was no domestic state cricket or international cricket on for the last 2-3 weeks when big bash finals were on so there have been heaps of professionals playing 1st grade cricket not getting dropped at all.
@@ben9DB Exactly!! The current angle in International Cricket only focuses on the batsmen. You can't really tell the subtle differences between deliveries that the bowlers make to deceive batsmen
Notice he bowls few bouncers. They are quite dangerous at lower levels, when a real fast bowler is playing. That’s considerate, but it does allow the batsmen to get on the front foot. In a higher level game the batsman has to second guess when the short one is coming, and that’s what gets top level batsmen out. Much of the fear factor also is reduced when bouncers are removed.
I'd like to be opening the batting against a quickie like Pattinson and watch him get madder and madder when I start playing my usual array of French cuts and snicks through the slips ...😊

Absolutely. I've got old footage of him bowling a 147 k bouncer from that angle. It's a beauty.
