That 4:50 minutes encapsulates everything great about Friends: character development, self deprecation, sarcasm, lots of laugh, and heart. A lot of heart. I don’t doubt Monica wiping away tears at the end was unscripted. Great writing executed by the only actors that could pull it off. We were lucky that this was our show for a time.
0:56 This is honestly my favourite moment in the entire show. The "oh Hi Ross" from behind the camera and the pan to him standing and staring there like that was so unexpected and hilarious.
I said this to my wife the last time we watched it that its genius writing. The timeline, the secret ross kept all those years, then to put it in a home video. For a show that has pretty basic sitcom writing, im glad they came up with this.
Love the portrayals of the friends watching Rachel and Ross finally kiss. I especially take note of Joey’s. You can tell that he’s so happy for his friends, but there’s also a slight sense of emptiness and hope for that same kind of connection for himself to experience. Just a really nice detail.
I loved Chandler's reaction. Ross is his oldest friend and he's known for year about how much Ross has loved Rachel. To finally see his friend get the girl after so many years was such a YES! FINALLY! moment. He's so happy for him.
I remember having those purple tights and a pair of green tights back then. Always wore them with a long skirt and doc martins. I wish i still had the clothes i had back then.
I remember the first time watching this episode. When the camera panned to Ross I nearly wet myself laughing. It still gets me today. What a great show Friends truly was. RIP Matt Perry
Hey don’t diss the Hall and Oates. 😅 Fashion is cyclical too and probably the Gerry curl will be back ironically and with a vengeance and it will be cute ☺️…
It’s really sweet. I don’t know why everyone is a spiritually dead wolf right now. I mean it’s the end of scenes like that…and in real life too should such a thing happen to happen… 🤷🏻♀️
This moment has my heart ❤ Rachel’s reaction to Ross wanting to take Rachel to prom to make it up for her, and post the prom video to the kiss. That was touching. 😢
One of the best scenes from the show, i saw this when it was first shown in britain and laughed so much at the first sight of Ross, Chandler's "working on my music?" line but also remember my heart breaking for Ross right up until Rachel kissed him.
@@shadic1871 season two, episode 14. It's my FAVORITE episode. I get every emotion watching it. Happiness, sadness and laughter. That look on Rachel's face when she walks over to Ross and kisses him is perfect. So heartwarming 😭😭❤️❤️🥰🥰
I love how Jack Geller helps Ross get ready in the tux and gives him the confidence to surprise Rachel with a date. It maybe didnt work out that Prom night but it worked years later. Judy and Jack were instrumental in getting them together later in life.
I have seen friends over and over again and know it off. By heart and when he’s dad zoomed into Ross that was the biggest laugh of the whole show in 10 years
1:49-That is Michael Bower, who is best known for playing Eddie “Donkeylips “ Gelfand on the Nickelodeon sitcom “Salute Your Shorts 🩳 “ playing Monica Gellar’s prom date.
3:05 Why did they enlarge the video (cutting ross out as he move around the couch) and slowed down the video on the Netflix version??? This one seems so much better...
I remembered this scene prior to this videotape at the coffeeshop Rachel was adamant about them cannot be together..she even said she was tired of being clobbered..and upon seing this video..she realised it was the other way around..
Ross was hilarious in 0:59. Chandler and your sarcasm: Work on your music. In my opinion this is best scene of Friends: Silent Walk and Rachel's Kiss of Ross.
This was a great moment. Funny and sweet. The hurt on Ross's face felt so real. The bit I never got was everyone thinking Ross had done this amazing thing for her. Getting ready to take someone to Prom seems pretty basic.
Two takeaways from this: 1) Loved the Beverly Hills Cop reference 2) Tried to keep a straight face but lost it after “So how many cameras are actually on you?”😂

The moment they learn why ross wasn't watching is priceless
Well, I payed Netflix to watch this show so it's not priceless
I watched this like 10 times and I still don’t get it. After the tape Monica said I can’t believe you did that. What exactly did Ross do?
@@thomasherber5758Dressed up to go as Rachel’s prom date.

One of the greatest moments not just from this show, but in television history. The flashback video was absolute genius and the acting was superb.

Phoebe’s “He’s her lobster” outfit in this episode has got to be my most favorite outfit of hers in the whole series.
It is really cute. She had so many great outfits. They don’t make clothes that quality anymore. I miss the 90’s
I remember having those purple tights and a pair of green tights back then. Always wore them with a long skirt and doc martins. I wish i still had the clothes i had back then.
Other than the Ross moment , this scene tugs on many people's heart string because of the parents love
They were the first Ross & Rachel shippers....
Yep!
No matter how many times I rewatch, I cannot get over the loudness of the laughter when the camera pans to Ross 😭😭
That was gold and the pose he does 😂😂

Joey got that reaction that every body from the watchers had while watching this scene 🥺🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️
The reaction I had was Chandler's 😅
I love how Ross looks like he listened to WAY too much Hall & Oats 😂
Just Oates
The subsequent "home video" introducing Chandler during Ross & Chandler's "Flock of Seagulls" phase...
Hey don’t diss the Hall and Oates. 😅 Fashion is cyclical too and probably the Gerry curl will be back ironically and with a vengeance and it will be cute ☺️…
Ross was definitely influenced by yacht rock.
The guy who plays Monica's date Roy is hilarious and super underrated here.
He really made the most of his limited screen time.
Donkey Lips!
He ended up watching Star Wars 317 times and his name was in the paper 😆
Well he’s like an archetypal 15 year old American boy kind of thing… and every nation likely has his equivalent…

This moment has my heart ❤ Rachel’s reaction to Ross wanting to take Rachel to prom to make it up for her, and post the prom video to the kiss. That was touching. 😢
my favorite scene. RIP Mathew Perry ❤
Chandler was so happy for his long suffering buddy here.
His name is spelled Matthew
One of the best scenes from the show, i saw this when it was first shown in britain and laughed so much at the first sight of Ross, Chandler's "working on my music?" line but also remember my heart breaking for Ross right up until Rachel kissed him.
I LOVE THIS SCENE SO MUCH
His body language towards the end of the video, when he was against the door was amazing
Unrequited love finally acknowledged and returned is irresistible
I think I have watched this scene, and the “I got off the plane” scene more than any others. And they always hit.
My all time favourite episode!
Out of all the couples from Friends, Ross and Rachel, even though they broke up for most of the series, are the funniest and my most liked

The way they all show their collective support and agreement and happiness as the couple kissed ❤❤❤
When Ross said “Ha doubtful” I felt that..
ohhh that kiss so pure and lovely
That 80s house set is amazing ❤

I tear up everytime when Rachel realized how long Ross has loved her.

Chandler always cracks me up! 😂
Ross taking the flowers from the vase on the landing is great but much overlooked detail from this scene.
I like how Chandler brotherly punch Joey's back, like saying, "told you so, bro!"
This was my favorite seen on that entire series!
Phoebe is so cute at the end when she said, “See? He’s her lobster!”
When Ross told himself to be cool so sad…
I think Rachel laughing about Monica’s sandwich getting on her was more Jennifer laughing about it than Rachel.
Monica: The camera adds ten pounds
Chandler: So exactly how many cameras are actually on you?
Such an underrated Chandler moment 😂😂😂
RIP Matt!
Maybe it's comedy, but nevertheless, in my opinion this is one of the most romantic scenes in TV-history.
