3:15:08 So Close, and Yet So Far (Tower of Witchcraft "Final" Area)
After a bit of wandering in the wilderness, this turns into a very productive session!
First, we explore the basement of the Tower of Spirits. I get most (all?) of 1B mapped, without turning up any notable rooms. There's an easily available stairway down to 2B, but we're almost immediately blocked by a locked gate!
I poke around the rest of the currently-mapped Tower of Spirits, looking for things I might've missed, and don't turn up much.
Then, with the Monk's new CALKO (see through walls!) spell in the spellbook, I return to 3F in the Tower of Witchcraft to see if I can figure out how to advance. It turns out I don't need the ability to see through walls here: all I need is to remember that I marked two switches on the map and then forgot to ever test them out. The two switches solve a very easy puzzle: just press them both and return to the Room of Mirrors, and you can pass through two of the mirrors into the rest of the level!
Exploring further, I find the Throne Room of the Tower of Witchcraft, where an NPC informs me that the only way I'll claim the Lord Vessel treasure is by going through him. Okay, deal! We win the fight pretty easily, pass into the treasure room, and... discover that the treasure retreats into its own pedestal when we try to grab it!
Odds are we'll have to figure something out in the Tower of Witchcraft basement in order to crack the case of the sneaky treasure!
