I had the same thought process. went for associates...had my hospital pay me through bsn and masters...and the 7 years of experience i gained while I was going to school was advantageous in getting my entry level job as a mid level clinician.
Very smart move
Wow I’m glad I read this. I’m a CNA and I was thinking of starting with my ASN in nursing and get a job and have them pay for my BSN later on. Amazing !
Love this because I'm a mother of 2 and want to become a nurse as fast as I can so I definitely agree with you that getting your ADN is better.
yess!!! get your money while going to school!!!
Just wanna say, I’ve been following you since I graduated from my LPN program in 2018 and passed my nclex cuz of your studying videos!! (1st try) now I’m Almost done with my ADN and you’ve been so inspiring to watch over the years. Thank you for your videos🩵
Omggg awwwww this comment means everything to me💕💕💕💕aww you made my night! I’m so happy to here that May God continue to bless you on your journey 💕🤗

@@peachesncream2128 awwww thank you so much!!💕💕💕
Hello, may I ask which school did you go to for your LPN?
Hi @peachesncream2128 are you going on campus or online? I work so I have to find a program online.
Thank you for the video!
Thank you and this was well explained
Thank you for helping this 43 year young lady 😊 make my decision to go for my associate's in nursing!!!
Yay! Yourwelcome! Yes associate is so much easier don’t get caught up in title just become a RN!
Hey, 45 year young man currently looking for the right Nursing school. Good luck to us!
I already have my BA in Finance and looking for a career change at this rate in life

If you are very young, no dependents, and have the financial means (and making money is not your primary goal) get your BSN enjoy the 4 years. If you have dependents, husband need the money to live ADN. To me time is what is important. If I was 18 and life was not life-ing. I would be enjoying campus life. Yes it’s true RN is RN but if you are really young you are going to want a BSN then A masters and a stack of certifications. Which bring the higher salaries with less physical work. Yes you can get it down the road but when the checks start rolling in you won’t want to stop and do it AND your facility needs you to get the BSN to keep credentials. Just my opinion. I think it is what the snapshot of your life looks like at the moment you want to go to school.
yes, I agree with that- at 18, if you definitely know you want to do RN and you can afford BSN why not get it over with and enjoy the 4 years of University! 100% agree!
The only thing about attending university is the cost. And I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just pointing out the con
Great advice
Yep cause I’m in TN and have worked in a hospital er as well as psych as a LPN; things are definitely different now.
Preach.
Thank you!!
i went to college and didn’t do so good first time around, what are my steps if i want to get into the aesthetic area ?
Hi @KimmyDTV, thanks for this video. Would you recommend this for an international applicant? I'll love to come study BSN but I'll gladly take the ADN cos of the cost difference. What do you think?
Hey!! Thanks for commenting! I would recommending taking the route that is the least expensive and fastest route for you- my point is, bachelors can be easily obtained online so if you become an RN in the USA, associate degree is recognized!
I have a BS from Capella in Psych. I’m wanting to go the ADN route because I’m hoping with my existing degree I can finish faster. Community colleges near me want me to take extra classes. Do you recommend CNA course? I have a caregiver job but the environment is 🚮
Hmm well I you don’t HAVE to get your CNA- this is totally up to you. I recommend getting the base classes that you need for mostly all RN programs and than applying to the colleges that meet your needs.. when you say extra do you mean like anatomy class or sociology? Because almost all nursing programs require these classes. So I would look at all of the commmunity college nursing programs in your area and make a list of all of the common classes that they ask for- those are the classes you should focus on hope this helps!🤗
@@KimmyDTV ty! It’s the pre-reqs mostly and the classes they are requiring before that. My local community college doesn’t recognize my bachelors as any transferable credits. I’ll find a way around it for sure!
Hi there,
Want to finish Capella nursing program in 12 weeks?
What about adn or msn?
❤what's this 2 year pre nursing in usa? Can you get a job with it before i continue with RN?
Man, the school I'm enrolled in only has a BSN program. I start this fall. I heard an ADN is much more useful, chronologically speaking.
What if I have a Bachelors in Criminal justice and want to switch fields ?
Same debating on adn bsn or msn
Thanks for the info! I’m a single mom getting my adn at a community college! As I’m getting closer to finishing school I’m becoming so anxious about getting a good job in a hospital or dr office. Thanks for the info!
Can you do a video about finding jobs after graduating with a adn?
@@serrinawhite901 that’s amazing! And congratulations!!! And yes I can!!’
I have an associates degree in arts, what are steps I need to take in order to get my license in nursing
Hey - I went to a acting college before nursing many of those classes counted towards my bachelor! first you get your basic prerequisite like anatomy and physiology 1&2 (with a lab) with a lab- micro psyc ,growth and development , sociology than start applying!! To accredited schools!
I have a question this process is crazy. I have my GED and I live in ny where do I even start
Maybe apply at a community college that offers nursing. You’ll take the pre reqs and then go from there
That’s what I’m doing
Hi, as a nurse is the Covid vaccine required?
Hey- it depends on the job!
Is BMCC good for RN associate degree?
I believe BMCC is a cuny it’s less expensive so I say it’s 👍 but don’t stay in a waitlist
@@KimmyDTVThank you!
What did you mean by waitlist?
@@shujayethossain6554 like sometimes if there is too many ppl they put you on a waitlist but you never know until you try so I say try to apply!
