Well its love and care:)
Janek us the reason i started my acam busting channel ... i cannot qait to go to Prague and trade Ruples for Euros
Everyone sees Cerny's Horse in Lucerna, but if you go up those stairs there is a stained glass installation added by Vaclav Havel. He loved graffiti so he commissioned a stained glass window that looks like painted graffiti.
I have been to Prague about 4/5 times and some of these places I have never seen, I will definitely check them out next time I'll visit.
Been there over 30 times and don't recall ever stepping foot in such places, good knowledge for a future visit!
I'd honestly love to attend a lecture by Adam, he seems very knowledgeable and also like someone who could teach architecture in an interesting way!
There are videos of his lectures in CAMP on UA-cam but unfortunatelly only in Czech
I love Adam. He is amazing and I can listen to his voice for hours. There are lectures on youtube, I rember some of them in english
One example: ua-cam.com/video/iWvU_WU3EDs/v-deo.html
What architects see: buliding from 1927
What cinemagoers see: a cinema
What Janek sees: EURONET
Prague is near the top of my list when international travel is a thing again. Thanks for sharing all of this great information.
I will receive my 2nd vaccination on June 2nd. Then after a couple of weeks, I'll be ready to travel. Prague will be my first destination! I hope that borders will be open again soon. Thank you Janek and Honza for your fine videos!
@@10jpmorgan did you get the third? fourth?

When I visited as an architecture student last year, I passed through a few of these spots unaware of the history. Very cool to see!
The best hidden (REALLY HIDDEN) gem of Prague has to be Joystick Bar close to Vaclavske Namesti, great bar with great people, a place where everyone's having fun. Hope to go back to Prague soon!
Adam should have his own UA-cam channel!
I went to Prague with my boyfriend around Christmas time 2019 right before the pandemic and It was magical and still is magical to me I will never stop watching these videos hahah. I paused it so much just now to show my boyfriend like oh look we went there!! and I kept nodding or even verbal agreeing with Adam during the video, like I was there in person... the passages in Prague are true gems!!! great video :)
Janek and Adam, I am from Sydney, Australia. On my first European trip I went through Rome, Venice, Vienna and then Prague and I thought that these cities are a different and a very pleasant experience. It wasn't until I got to Prague I realised that a big part of the reason is that there was no, or little high rise construction which gives a claustrophobic feel and blocks sunshine (as in Sydney). This might not be immediately obvious to visitors but I know which I prefer. May you keep your charming historic buildings forever. I'll be back when international flight allows it. Cheers from the Polish Kangaroo. BTW the kangaroo at Prague Zoo needs warm gloves during cold weather. Can you knit gloves?.
You never disappoint! Even if your old videos are gone I do enjoy the new content!!! Greetings from Pennsylvania, USA
What happened to the old videos?
I was wondering what happened to the old videos?? All their playlists and vids from more than 6 months or so are deleted.
They used to work for a big Czech company. They left it and went solo. Unfortunately they couldn't reach an agreement with the company that would allow them to keep the old videos up.
The best guide in Prague!! 🤩
I always look forward to rainy days in Prague because those are the days I explore the passages.
I used to dislike Wenceslas Square, but since I started working in one of the buildings, I slowly fell in love. It's a really interesting part of the city.
it will be a historical day when you two hit 1 million!!
Another reason to head back to Prague.
Sweet! I've been looking forward to seeing this.
your friend who doesnt act like your friend is back :)
???
Adam Gebrian is really doing his best to stay positive in this video. He covered the Prague passageways in one of his videos, and there he was quite vocal about the shitty condition they're in nowadays. :)
Thanks again Janek and Honza. Keep them coming!
"There are no dead ends in Prague" is a great quote which I will use again
This was SO interesting!
Great episode. I love it when the focus is on Prague and its hidden gems.
Adam thank you for your insight.so interesting,I love to hear your description.x
You should do a "Falcon and Winter Soldier" special, since it was filmed in a lot of interesting places in Prague.
Adam please laugh at Janek's jokes :D lolll
I like Adams sense of style 😎
Yay! Adam is back!
Love this and I need to explore more open doorways/passageways. Always scare it might be private property but when I do enter, the discoveries have been nice.
I love Brno! I know it' not about the video, but I just wanted to express my love to Brno
Great video. We have been in the first and the third one (Lucerna). We love you city and we hope to come back ASAP!!! Stay safe!
This was surprisingly entertaining. Would love to see more with Adam. Its like we're all levelling up with are Prague knowledge.
Love all your videos. Thank you
Znojmos Tunnels were very interesting, the Castle,a Jihomoravské (Südmährer/South Moravia) Museum and the Christmas Market and a cool view if you go up the hill and look down the Thaya.
What a great video!
Awesome Janek, this is what we come here for. Congrats on the new episode!
Lovely video. Can't wait to visit Prague again.
When people say
Im first
Im last
The problem is nobody asked!!
nobody asked for your opinion either.. ironic.
@@jerrynovotnik that is ironic
one of best your best episodes guys! Just beautiful
thanks to Adam for his insights!
Great stuff!
Wonderful :)
Country's capital doesn't need a skyscarpers
The moment I saw Prague explained by some architect, I knew it will be Adam G. :D I just knew that he is the kind of guy that would work with Janek.
Also Adam looks so slick and stylish.
underground theaters? thats interesting! Cinemas in Singapore are often on the top floor
The street in the packs is the largest hidden place in the whole of Prague 🚏 whoever enters it will never go crazy 😀
Cool places. Thx ♥
Gentlemen, thank you so much for this video 👏
There's a paternoster lift at the Luerna passage. It was the one I visited as the City Hall was closed on that day. It's in a closed building though.I was lucky someone was leaving and let me in.
oh I love this! Living Brussels for years, and on a big budget with two children, we found these charming. And warming during winter and love the shop windows. I think the oldest "mall" is in Brussels and they have great stores and one of course sells chocolate!
@honestguide Hi, can you do a video on 5 of the most common apartment building design in Prague please? Thanks!
And a Czech word: Pasaj. Very cool. (I learned it from a prior episode about the Pasaj (passages). )
@Daik. Ch Thank you for the correction.
I wish you lived in every country so you could have an honest guide for everywhere lol!
PANR has tuned in.
I've been in the Lucerna, but didn't realise there was a paternoster! - I'd have loved to use it.
Did you forget the map link? I really hope that everything is back open in August
I just searched for the names in the videos and found them all. They are very close together by Wenceslas
Its good video you its nice jste skvělí
Can’t believe you guys did do the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Hotel Bohemia!
Už čekám na cz verzi kluci
Tak čekej hochu
Janek,.Congratulations (I hope you read it). You both (Janek & Honza (+?)) are way much better in this Chapter of your Channel. btw: Thanks to Mr. Gebrian.
Where's the formula 1 video? 👀 Haha good video tho! Prague is full of secrets really, I can't wait to go there once traveling is possible.
In Romanian, lucerna is a type of plant, used for tea and medicine.
Funny hanging out in the public space in the first building waiting for movie and why not pop into the Cannabis Pharmacy to pick up a snack before the show?
Cannabis pharmacy. Intresting.
Yey Adam is back. Big Daddy vibes, not gonna lie
I saw a canabis shop....see you in Prague
No
it's fake weed with no THC :-D
0:39 who thought the lady was walking on that bench?
First time I was too amazed by the beauty what was seen out in the streets of Prague, next time I will definately look inside of buildings too.
But I did intentionally searched that Metal Shop what was inside one of the houses you showed. It wasn't very inviting indeed to step in the darkness. :D Ended up walking all nearby streets too, just in case I missed it and my map has it wrong, before ended up again on the same spot and decided to enter that dark vortexy hallway at minute 2:48. 😄Now I know..Next time will be more brave to step into a bit odd looking dark places. haha
3:20 Very interesting. I have been many times in the restaurant next to it (really good and cheap food btw.) but never actually went in the passageway, first because it is dark and second because it always smelled of pee, very strongly. And this street had so many brothels so it was not really inviting for this kind of exploration.
why are a lot of your videos gone? was trying to browse them but noticed most of them were gone
Always found the Stepanska passage scary, stayed in the apartments upstairs a few time, and there was often druggies hanging about in there.
Do you know if there are any of these passage ways (Průchody) in České Budějovice?
that architect could be Jordan Shlansky's brother
I feel like they're just discovering what an American mall is, except for natural light.
3:20 Police station behind them
Im from Czechia, but i enjoy these english speaking videos, thanks for them! :)
4:30 what is Andrej doing there?
Is Vytopna restaurant in Palace FENIX open now? You've just walked by in the beginning
Hello, my question to Czech people - how should I say to Czech friends:
Ahoj, Tomašzi! OR Ahoj, Tomašze!
Dobri den, Leoši! OR Dobry den, Leoše!
Ahoj Tomáši
Dobrý den Leoši
:)
@@miroslavantonin9354 Dekuje 😊👍
But also "Ahoj Tome" and "Ahoj Leo" (although I'm not really sure if there is short version for name Leoš 🤔)
For the YT algorithm
Hi Guys
Can anyone tell me where to find the old videos?
It suddenly disappeared
Unfortunately, there was an intellectual property question. So the videos have been ... abrogated...
All those painted over glass blocks... criminal.
First with the 1,000 others!
No Loket? How!?
I love the architecture of Prague. It would be great to see a video about the traces of communism in Prague's architecture. The 'Shades of Prague' instagram page shows there is a lot than many people think.
It would be interesting, not everything built in communism is bad as people wrongly think. But I think it takes another maybe 20 years before people realize it's also part of our history and some of those buildings have some value.
Drinking Budvar while watching this video = 😁
Hello
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Chuchle 2021
Why you didnt handshake Adam in beginning Janek? Come on, I know you're trying to be an example, but he's your friend.
Remember when you guys beat covid ?
is he turkish? sounds a lot like my turkish friends haha
you show Prague positive side and good side but show us Prague negative and bad side every city has bad side
Hej sorry, ale ta kavárna Swim vypadá spíš jak řezník. 😁
"Czech architecture". Not really. They inherited this great city. But its not czech at all. Its austrian KuK Empire Style, in this case art noveau and art deco. You will find much similarities in Budapest, Prague and Vienna and many more Cities in the region. Every city has is own charme though. No offense, i like czech people, esp. Honza and Janek.
Who inherited what? It's the same culture. Czech culture is the same as German/Austrian culture because Czech lands were part of the German world. Czechs were also part of it. So Czechs are not new inhabitants or some aliens. It is also their culture.
Ofcourse you will find similarities in Budapest and Austria, it's same cultural region and we were part of one country for few hunderds of years. Also those styles were international. But there is something what is really Czech and you can find it in the world only very rarely and that's typical Czech functionalism from 30s.
"it seems futuristic" it looks like a fucking chernobyl bruh
These passageways really add a lot to the city as they extend the public space to the buildings. I loved exploring them when I was in Prague. They are also quite common in my hometown of Leipzig but not in such variety and abundance.
1:53 Adam: "...and maybe buy something". Video shows Cannabis pharmacy
Your videos are really interesting and helpful, thanks for your effort you put into those!
