Take Risks and test your skills. If you have the skills you will survive and grow. If you don't have the skills, you learn them or you find out who you are. He says the abyss a lot. "When a man finds himself staring at the abyss it's at that point a man finds his character. It is that which keeps him out of the Abyss". Love hearing the interviews. Thank You for these. Such grounded people.

Jinjer reacted to these questions exactly like I thought they would; truthful, humble, down to earth and didn’t make things sound better than they actually are.
Jinjer gave us the hard truth behind being a professional musician.
They were being true to others wanting to live this life and what it takes. In today’s musical scene, no matter what genre, you have to master your instrument!! You gotta woodshed man!! Practice, practice, practice hours on end and be aware that there will always be others better than you…but that’s how you are challenged to get to that next step. You heard it straight from Vlad, what his background is and that gives you a clue as to what it takes to get their level of musicianship.
JINJER just laid it all down for us. You new musicians listen and take note!! Stay humble and remember that you will be practicing and learning for the rest of your career! Michael Brecker was considered one of the greatest jazz musicians in recent history paid to take lessons from other musicians his entire life until he died a few years back…RIP M.B.
Love ya JINJER and thanks for the education!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽

My advice? Don't try to sound like your favorite band! It's hard to not want to sound like some of the greats that came before ya. But been there, done that, heard that. It's okay to be "influenced" by your favorite bands. ya gotta come up with some original musical so take chances. But most of all play want YOU want to play, and don't sound like shit live or in the studio! To be honest with your music you gotta be selfish and play what you want to play, not what you "think" others want you to play. Put everything back into the band for sound quality and Find your sound, and make sure it sounds good! Music is about sounding good first and foremost! Then work on mastering your instrument, stage presence and the show. Just don't cheat with backing tracks! Nobody cares how fast you can play (again, been there done that). The greats in music can bring the crowd to its knees with a single note! That's how you know you made it!
