One of my favourite guitarists along with Peter Green and David Gilmour. Sad to see him part with his '57 Gold Top but even sadder to hear that his RSI has stopped him playing. Hope he gets it sorted and gets back to playing again.
Wow! What an iconic instrument. It's so amazing to me that these great guitar players hang onto their one favorite guitar. Page with his LP Standard that he bought from Joe Walsh. Don Felder and his iconic EDS 1275. Paul with his Hofner bass. Clapton with Blackie. Gilmour with the "Black Strat". These instruments do bond with their players. It's as so with me as well..I have my favorite Taylor acoustic and my favorite Fender Strat that I would never part with. Too sentimental...although I have several guitars..these two are my favorites!
my best friend from high school sold me his 69 olympic white strat in 1995 because he met a girl and needed the money to move out of state gave him $1500 for it he moved and never heard from him then in 2014 I got a message on Facebook from him we started talking again he never once mentioned the guitar I live in slc he lives In California so after 4 months I finally went over to see him 23 yrs later we went to lunch had a great time reminiscing I was headed back to my Hotel but before I left I told him I had something for him took him to my car asked him to open the trunk it was his 69 Strat told him it belongs to you never seen a guy cry like that before he said his dad gave him the guitar and he past away a year ago .. so our friendship continues that is why this made me very sad to see snowie should get his guitar back!!
I'm fortunate to have met Snowy a lot of times and been to his (old) house, sad to see him selling this guitar. Comfortably numb will never sound the same again. I just saw it made nearly $95,000, which is a fair wedge of cash to be sitting unused somewhere so I see his reasons.
Asking Dave or Roger or FrampMan or the Joes to please bid high and give this guitar back to Snowy. If you gotta play thru the pain, Snowy, you might as well make it worth it! Don't let it go Snow!
God bless you! you must be a great person to want to do that! i felt the same way when gary moore sold his 59 les paul because of finances. I would have loved to buy it back for him. take care sir and god bless

Ouch. I am 50 and in regular PT after spinal surgery. I was always working at sea and did not get to play guitar as much as I like. Now I have time because I am off work but I feel sore a lot, so do not play every day. You know exactly how sore I am by whether I am playing much. If I feel even half okay I reach straight for the guitar. If I get into it and play well, it puts me in a much better mood. Guitar is definitely one of the best things in life. That and peanut butter on toast. Pizza. Mexican food. Indian food. Middle Eastern food. Food in general. As for guitars. I am a one guitar at a time type too. I get to know an instrument and feel messed up if I play something else. Usually a Les Paul or a SG. At the moment it's a humble Studio model from 1997. For some reason it's the best sounding Gibson I have ever had. Some are just like that for some reason. Not sure why. It's a lottery and you just have to try lots of guitars to find the one you like best. Frets need work though. I wore them flat in less than six months.
Hi Snowy Pls dont red rid of your guitar, iknow how you feel. Hang you guitar on the wall at home. I have a 1993 Gibson les paual standard black, i bought that guitar from the store and this guitar have been my all the time. Love from Sweden.

Desparetely sad Snowy having to sell this guitar, if it wasn't painful enough having RSI in his right elbow it's going to be excruciating for him losing his "baby"!!
Not sure he is the sort of musician who earns tons from royalties, more of a player. So no play no pay. 100K under the bed could make a decent amount a month if invested right.
If he finds it difficult to play due to his RSI it is better in the hands of an up and coming guitarist who appreciates the history of the instrument and the pure sound.

I hope the 'golden ' guitar is displayed in a museum for the public to admire...thanks Snowy for the beautiful 'blues' you played💗
Thank you for your comment!
Snwoy is such a brilliant guitar player, thx a lot for wonderful gigs in germany clubs in the 90th

discovered him late but really love his music
Snowy is a wonderful guitarist. He reminds me bery much of Peter Green & his disciple the tragic Danny Kirwan.
Snowy white you are beautiful legendary guitarist 😍🙏❤️

What an amazing story! And what an unbelievably kind thing to do for a friend.
he is the best...and that guitar...what memories for so many people....

Makes me want to cry
1 of the greatest guitar players ever....just look at his CV
I had no idea that he sold it. Wow. So sad.

The best sounding guitar I know ( I'm a huge fan of snowy )
+MaxGuitarKid Do you know if Snowy played the solo on 'Memory Pain' ( B- side to 'Trouble Boys') using this particular guitar ?
+TheHumbuckerboy yes I believe he did, it certainly sounds like him.
+MaxGuitarKid Yes Snowy's playing 100%. Definitely one of my favourite solos .
If I had the money I would buy it and give it back to him! this makes me mad prob some rich collector bought that can't even play just for decor!
+Leo Gonzalez I had the exact same thought...
@@jey8605 it sold for 75,000 gbp I thin I Read

Snowy (1957 Les Paul) and Doyle Bramhall II dueling guitars in Comfortably Numb, Roger Waters “In the Flesh” Tour 2001 (on UA-cam). Breathtaking 🤠
A total legend.

Name of the background music please Timing 1:47
That is the best sounding guitar in the world
Too cool!
Love him who owns the goldtop now.
Probably Bonamassa at the rate he buys old Les Pauls.
Can anybody tell which of his compositions is played in the very beginning of the video?
Thanks
'The Journey' from the album White Flames.
A very sad video.
It came a long way with him for 45 years and now something happened that he has to sell his fellow.
Please Snow, say it ain't so!

Snowy je muj kytarový miláček
Should have got Gibson to do a signature copy then sold the original 👍
This makes me really, really sad.
PRP or stem cells, plain and simple. Regenexx is the place. Had it done to elbow, knee and thumb
I think it was sold for 90000$ in auction , so sad let your baby go .You are a great guitarist
I Don't Get It Why Would He Sell It
Eddie Etheridge He needs money like everyone else.

Tem horas que é uma merda não saber falar inglês.
Está sempre a tempo de aprender :)
Paul Reed Smith will be chasing him now ;-)
I’d love to see Snowy playing a PRS Singlecut with a gold top finish. The vintage vibe would work for him I think
Snowy now plays a PRS. He has another gold top but says it's not as good as the 57.
Its so sad he sold it....
No
He’s going to regret that.
What happened to it? Looks wrecked
This guitar is marked with amazing stories.
Played the heck out of it for 40 years🤠
🌎🌈🌌
Does snowy need the money as he can not play because of RSI? My god what a lose to him............and us!
