Reminds me of a bass-sized version of the beetle spins with a jig-head and a shimmery grub pinned on, that we used in the 70's to catch crappies and river smallies. Good stuff!
I have an experiment for you….. take a double willow spinnerbait and remove some or all of that sleeve that separates the two blades on the upper wire. Make it so the blades clack, crash, and interfere with each other. It looks super erratic, still runs straight and really gets the bass’ attention. I’ve been having some decent catches with it. I’ve modified several of my spinnerbaits. Now I gotta add that swinging head idea 👌
There is a similar product to the video shown the company is called True Bass found in TW, it is a detachable spinner bait arm that you can attach to other weedless screw loc hooks with various oz weights on it to your specifications needed
THANKS AGAIN MY FRIEND!!! I just ordered 2 from Tackle Warehouse. I'm going to use them on my honey hole which is heavy pressured and loaded with gizzard shad. I'm going to rig up my Miyagi swimbait shad color.......
Love the video. Bass pro sells a spinner bait arm that has a built in snap I have been putting it on weedless swim baits for awhile it’s a great way to put a spinner bait in really thick cover. Works amazingly well. Thank you for the time you spend helping us all become better anglers
Thanks for sharing this secret! We'll start sharing your channel to our clients who recently bought land from us near the lakes. They'll surely learn a lot from you 😊
I’ve used flatlands custom tackle for a while, he makes some of the best custom spinnerbaits and underspins. He’s based out of north Mississippi. Great guy to deal with if y’all are looking for top notch custom lures!
I lived in Texas for first half of my life and I use to buy a lure called strike king redfish magic which is made for Texas saltwater redfish but I used it for bass fishing and had great success with them… they still make them… you should check them out…
True Bass Bladed Swimbait Harness also available on TW is similar concept only the head is removable and you can switch it out with whatever head or hook you want.....for example a weedless underspin or a weighted swimbait hook.
That looks awesome, definitely a game changer, you could even use a under spin with that like the one you showed us awhile back or they have belly weighted under spins by Gamakatsu!
Matt when you first showed me I believe six months ago with a Square Bill with the spinner blade Willow or the Colorado either one and I took a scatter rap and took the bill off filter in with wood putty and hooked it up just like that with the free swing and hook but I actually bet my wires and I also have a jig head that I made one on with a skirt hand tied skirt and it swings 31° side to side literally and I would love to get it marketed! I’ve caught fish off of it on recorded line live feed met and it works great specially the tip with the square bill with the tail worm hanging off of it with the paddle tail worm that’s another good top water bait
I feel like a caveman who just saw fire for the first time. 😯 I can see that working very well on the brush and stump forest that I fish in. Looks easy enough to make too….a Falcon weighted hook and an old spinnerbait with a loose head.
Matt. I like that bait.👍 Spinnerbaits are fairly easy to fish and they catch bass. Freedom has a free swinging spinnerbait, and the Imakatsu Helter skelter spinnerbaits simply catch them where I fish. It’s basically a semi weedless mini “A” rig spinnerbait with oscillating arms that hold the blades.🍺 My Jeremy Lawyer prediction at the Ozarks made the championship round.🤠
To put any spinnerbait into 4 wheel drive : point your rod tip directly at the bait and wind... it will come thru any kind of cover guaranteed not to hang on that branch or vegetation. Really enjoy your shows thanks for sharing all the great tips .... I really like the retrieve tips you do .
Similar thought I take a large beatlespin and remove the jig head. Replace with an ewg hook or belly weighted ewg hook. I made a few to try out cause I hate hanging up and loosing baits. Always looking for ways to make stuff weedless.
I believe that small Colorado stile blade on a Beetlespin gives off an attractive vibration. I've caught a lot of bass on em. I've often thought of how I could make them stronger. So, I love your idea. Thanks
@@billwhite7099 Try adding a pinch weight on the spinner arm ahead of the hook. I have also used epoxy to glue the ewg hook solid too the arm so it does not move at all but can still Texas rig the bait on. My soft plastic of choice is the Zoom Fat Albert grub. Good Luck!
That bait looks fantastic, it looks like a must try and by the way, did you get all of them from Tackle Warehouse cause they dont have many of them… lol!
Great stuff as always. Appreciate your work and knowledge. What area do you live in Wisconsin? My girlfriend is from Steven’s Point. I spent 9 days in the fall all over the state. Been looking at land in the Hayward area & Presque Isle area.
I *NEED* that bait in my life! As much veg and garbage that's in the waters around here, it really limits when you can throw a spinner bait, even if that would be the best choice. I mean, I need all my tackle, but I really really need that! What tackle addiction? I can stop buying tackle whenever I want to. I just don't want to! Also - I've been working with that tip you had about putting the small spinner just about your bait. Nothing yet, but we've had bluebird skies and high pressure all week. We're supposed to have a front move through this weekend. I'm going to try again.
I make my own larger in line spinners and add belly weighted EWG hooks for swimbaits or a pit boss trailer. Same idea as this but more streamline and I feel like fish don't see anything like it
I got hung up on a lay down and I was popping my line trying to get it free and as soon as I got it free a 4 pounder hammered it I actually got the bass in but was lucky. So I tried to attach a swimjig to a old spinnerbait to make it more weedless but your bait would be way better.
I had a jig stuck deep on bottom under a rock and I was guitar picking the line trying to free it, after several attempts, my line started to suddenly go sideways. Took me a minute but I set the hook and reeled in the bass that saved my jig. 😂
We use to call that a "Gypsy rig" more or less. My grandfather would change out the blade to a larger blade on a beetle spin and set it up on a 2/o jig head. I've caught a ton of 5 plus lbers on the Gyspy rig.
A rubber band will solve your problem useing traditional spinnerbaits. A zip tye cut into .take nail punch hole in zip tye slip on your hook bend zip tye and allow zip tye to catch your tip of hook ,both work.liken the swingn head..deer hunter...
It’s a big oversized glorified beetle spin and everyone knows “I HAVE TO HAVE SOME FOR MY BOX” so to everyone reading this they don’t have anymore they out right now 😂😂😂

Hello from Portugal!!! Love your channel and making lures. I have the mold to make arkie jigs ( Mustad 32798BLN Flat Eye Jig Hooks). That's the main base of a lot's of lures that I made...spinners, buzzbaits, chaterbaits... I use In all of them a piece of stainless wire to do the arm(0,7 mm (size/thickness maters :); and i use to do he blades a plate of ceiling light (very flashy and ultra thin, you can mold it with your hands. That combination, thikness of the blades/ arm, and the fact that the head runs free in the wire (makes the head run straith and perfecly horizontal ; the skirt creates the perfect secondary action (allways trembling); and increases the rate of hooksets). Please try to put an arkie style head with the flat eye head, with a skirt (living rubber thin) and change the blades(lless thickness), I belive that my spiner buzzbaits and chatterbaits are better than the megabass's...I fish highland reservoir/ultra deep, clear water, deep, pressured, and we only have largemouth in portugal (sorry...my english sucks) jp

Great idea! Thanks for showing this! My two favorite lures for the Mississippi River are a spinnerbait and a belly weighted swimbait.
both killers!
That is a great looking piece of hardware. That hinge is the bomb! Very innovative.

Super easy to make with any extra spinner bait arm and swim bait hook. I like it
Right on
Finally a lure that is more snagless. I’m going to junk my old spinners and load up with these.
good luck!
I will have to check that out, I have never seen that before and I do enjoy throwing a spinnerbait, thanks for this!

I just made my own with a spinner bait, Fusion 19 swim bait hook and a split ring, turned out perfect!

I’ve been doing this for a couple years now. Lunker hunt has nice arms use the swimbait hooks or an ewg. Great tip sir

Lunker hunt makesa beetle spin arm. You can install whatever you want behind it. Also change blade size. It is a little smaller but works great.😮
I’ll check it out
Pretty cool Matt. I'm going to put one of those on my TW wish list. ✌🏻
Right on!
I have always used old spinnerbaits when the skirts fell off...On the Ozarks, I used the add-on small clip on a dirty jig head...

Totally!
As a tackle builder I wish I could have thought of this. Addresses so many spinner bait problems. Shad spawn lookout.

Love that but never seen the double willow , thanks , I use a similar one but I’ve only seen them that clip on Bobby pin style , I do like that bro
thanks!
Looks like a great bait for these natural Wisconsin lakes and rivers. Does the paddle tail mess with the blade action vs running a fluke trailer?
nope but you cold use a fluke
Thanks Matt!!!👊🏻 Looks like they're sold out except for the heavier ones. Have to wait until they come in.😫 Stay Safe & God Bless!!
