All that New York had to do was to change his speed and those torps would have missed. Always change speed every 15-20 seconds. If all you do is vary your speed, you will be harder to hit with guns and also harder to hit with torpedoes. If you add minor course corrections to the mix, you will become a very frustrating target. Learn how to protect yourself with unexpected movement! Very solid advice in this video. Good work. +1
This video needs a re visit. There's been soo many changes to the game and with the various speeds for torpedoes and types of torpedoes it's hard getting a torp Salvo to stick. Too many ships nowadays outpace and out maneuver torpedoes with the prevalence of sonar and radar. Please do re visit this topic for the betterment of the community.
Wow! I didn’t even notice the torpedo indicator before. Well I did, but I didn’t know what it did so I ignored it. Really opened up destroyers for me, my favourite ship now.
aim at the waterline and the ship whit AP for citadels (dd vs dd bb vs bb) if u are dd u shoot hp shells at superstruckters for fire ore destroying guns at BB's i play allot on pc and allot is the same on ps4 i watch Notser allot its helps also on ps4... dont mind me shitty english i am dutch :P
I played thru all the tier 1, 2 and 3 destroyers and cruisers so I'm familiar with the angle restrictions to fire your torpedoes. I'm now playing tier 3 battleships so I'm now on the receiving end. I swear numerous times I'll be watching a torpedo boat from outside torpedo range waiting for them to make their turn and all of a sudden torpedoes are coming at me. I can only assume there was also a hidden Japanese destroyer with him but man it happens just a bit to often to logically explain.
Yeah, mini map has two circles around your white icon. The white circle is how far your selected weapon's range is, and the blue circle is how far you are detectable at
The blue circle on your map is your range of being undetected. If you check my beginners series playlist and check out the vision and spotting mechanics, that will cover it in depth. Very important concept to understand
Yeah, use the smokes. They are quick to cycle through, so by the time the smoke clears you should be about ready to deploy the next one. UK destroyers rely on the gun more than the torpedoes.
Really would help if there could just be a static shot or two pointing at the arcs so idiots like me can figure out how to fire these darn things. basically what an in game tutorial ought to do
I have a good UK destroyer game that I'll put up in the next couple of days. Scout targets, kills destroyers, use smoke when you'll have a target within range of your gun for a while. Torps are still in play but you have to remember that they can detect you at about the same range as you can deploy torpedoes
You have a nice big arc of torp usage. On my AOBE Jap cruiser, the arc is small, and then I only have 3 torps per side, really makes it hard to torp ships. Also if they are too close, the torps won't arm, I found that out the hard way but then I'm a cruiser player. If you have anything to add or additional videos, I'd love to see them or hear from you.
Because it is a cruiser. Those torps are designed for kiting. For instance, you get the attention of a BB and start sailing away from him. If he chases, then your rear arc makes it easy to launch torps as you zig zag avoiding fire. They were not really positioned for an offensive torp style, they are defensive
Before you teach how to engage a target, you have to assume we don't know how a target is locked. Targets are being locked and we don't know if that is done with a key stroke or auto.

Yep, no doubt. Gotta enjoy the first week or two of this being out when everyone is floating around in a straight line!

Good tutorials👍i was totally clueless on this game when i started 2 weeks ago😂,these improved my game alot👌cheers!
Good info on your channel. Just subbed, looking forward to more.
Thanks, welcome aboard!
Dude, cool vid. Just started playing this game. Thanks!
Welcome to world of warships!

Good tips for aiming, thanks!

Yeah that's probably it! Those things can be pretty sneaky
Guess what country line I am going to start down tonight? LOL, love that you can stay un-spotted and drop torps on these guys all day!
Yeah, it's pretty nasty. Just keep in mind that the guns are almost useless
@@TbullGaming Yep. Had a 134k damage game in my Isokaze a couple weeks ago...sneaky bastard, but the guns are terrible.
what buttons do press on ps4 controller ?
Where do you see your "blue detectability range? Is that on the mini map somewhere at the top left of the screen?
Yeah, mini map has two circles around your white icon. The white circle is how far your selected weapon's range is, and the blue circle is how far you are detectable at
Glad I found you! Great info!
I had several good games in the Japanese destroyers during the 2nd beta weekend...plus, they're really interesting historically, also...
They are fun to play, very sneaky
You are getting close to the Battle ship, how do you know how close you can get before getting detected? Thank you much.

what do u mean by console. u on sp4 or xbox??????
Great vid! Any tips on playing British DDs? As soon as I get within a range to use torps I'm getting shredded before I can fire them off. Thanks :)

But they can still kick ass with the tops though

basically what an in game tutorial ought to do
what i like about this version, of wow's it tells you ur out of range, unlike the original version.
It's good info to have for sure!
More guides please
Enjoying all your vids and info really top notch learning from your insight! TY
Does the game have tutorials?
Not really. That's why I made the beginners series, to hopefully give everyone a leg up
Thanks much!
What should your play style be when playing English and American destroyers

MegaTron rules 😜
Heavy ship tutorials?
There is a battleship guide up,check through the beginner's guide playlist and you should find it. More guides are on the way
Thanks again.👍
Good info and I'm trying to take your advice, but I hate destroyers and I'm not a fan of soviet cruisers.... :P
Whats the name of the ship
mememan you can seem in the bottom left

@@Mistakenshadow Thanks for the information, I will certainly give that a try...

You don't know Jack 😜
What? How do you select a target? I'm such a newb
I'm not sure what it is on the default controller scheme. I use preset #3, and on that I believe it is R1/RB. I'd have to double check when I get home
If you have default then PS4 press L3
What button
To bring up the torpedoes hit triangle on PS4 or Y on Xbox 1
Thanks i shoot torpedoes all the time and don't hit shit.
Shooting torpedoes is a joke should not need all day to line up 😜
Suks
Really not good info
