Fogborn tips from a Diamond Fogborn
#1 Asses who in the lobby is gonna be the biggest issue, high-level players or people who know how to avoid you.
If you have a potentiol opportunity to kill them or a new player, go for them.
#2 Foggy stare doesnt just target the player who looked at you but can also be used to kill others after a short period of time, this can be used with #1 to kill pro players even if they wont look at you.
#3 This is the important one. Learn to not rely on foggy stare for kills. It can be unreliable, and it's good to learn how to chase people down without it.
Fogborn has enough sprint speed to stay on a player even if they are sprinting, so the important thing is getting close enough. This can be done either thru teleport or cornering the player.
>Cornering is more skill based on your part, having to have good map knowledge and player prediction, but some maps like pillars are great for this.
>Teleport used to be terible with this sort of thing, with the huge endlag it had, but now its very good for sometimes catching people off gaurd and is especialy useful against peole who have already waisted their stamina or are at a task (seriously people be glued to those things).
#4 As a Fogborn, you are contractually obligated to mess with the last player if there is more than one minute left, think oppening & closing doors in thunder form, peaking out from behind corners and other stuff.

I pretty good tip for fogborn player is to utilise the fact that he has no idle sounds. He is incredibly silent and you can easily catch people off guard because you can just wait for them around a corner. Along side that you can use the tap sprinting tech to complete silence your footsteps, this is especially good against floor kissers. And when chasing never let go of shift as if you let go of it after an attack u will have to wait a bit before you can run again.
@tonympal Oh yea lol I forgot to mention the sprint thing, 100% right, tho you may need to be careful of people who suddenly run backwards. It's a great counter to this Fogborn strat.
Important tip: if you wanna actually be stealthy, DO NOT USE JOHN. He’s big and has multiple glowing spots, and turning around to hide yourself doesn’t work as well because you’re a brighter color. Only use John if you’re confident in your skill as fogborn

One of my best tips as a barely decent Fogborn player is this: When you want to set up a Foggy Stare ambush, especially on the map shown in the gameplay, exit Thunder Warp when you're out of sight and a little far away. (Think around the corner on the aforementioned map, Drainage.) This allows you to round the corner and use Foggy Stare quickly, which works much better seeing as how the survivors don't have a large flash of lightning to indicate where to turn from.
But yeah, like some other comments have said, don't rely on Foggy Stare. Survivors can very much fake turning to look at you by just turning why looking down. (which I have done against a Gold fogborn twice in a row LOL) So practice using Thunder Warp at around 60-70 stamina at least, and teleporting on top or a little in front of someone who has used a bit of stamina.
Oh, and it is quite funny but a bit unreliable, but just having your back turned to a survivor down a hallway can hide you until you turn around and Foggy Stare because of how dark the default skin is, and most other skins are.
Just a tip as a compitent player: Before you directly teleport on a survivor with thunder warp, the survivor can here brief lightning. Stall them for a bit if they hear this, and wait for the survivor to waste some stamina before exiting thunder warp.

Another great guide, i bought fogborn along side jeffrey woods, and i used fogborn and i only got 2 kills, this guide really helped alot, fell the 🐐
If you use fogborn to his full potential even competent survivors can't really do anything against you. I usually just spawn in front of them so they run into me so I can stay on top of them when the endlag ends

I love the John skin, I just wish it didn't cover half my screen when I use it..
an easy counter as a survivor i figured out is when you're being chased and you're at low stamina, face the direction where fogborn is but look down and 9/10 they will use foggy stare but it wont activate since you're not actually looking at them just their direction

Its a great way to buy yourself a little time to get that tiny bit of stamina back that could mean life or death

Probably one of the hardest monster to play as for me, ive been trying to be good with it for the past few weeks just for the john skin.

Good practice is when using warp thunder, find player, his prediction and appear near behind corner so that you could ambush him and use foggy stare. Also when crawling under foggy stare, don't stop because if you do, it will stop you from biting commonly, if you overrun your player, just spin not to stop and overrun player
Fact about Foggy stares!
If no one looked at you, you will recover 40 stamina
Stamina drain drastically decrease when someone looked at you
There is a bug on mobile which make Fogborn be able to move while using Foggy stares

why sometime my hitbox is smaller than usual? i see sometime my hitbox is normal but sometime smaller i just want to know why
important tips for survivor when facing fogburn :
1. learn the map layout first and always look down, you maybe said " but idk where im going if im look down " thats why you must learn the map layout first
2. you can trick fogburn to use his stare ability, when you being chase look down and look at the direction where the fogborn is coming from while still looking at down, soo by doing that in fogburn pov he think your look at him while actually you didnt
3. when you got chased by fogburn and you heard lightning stop running because fogburn entering his thunder warp ability, by doing this you can save up some of your stamina
4. and when you heard a whistle you can stop for a short time but still look down
and yeah i think i should deleted this comment ( later ), because this tips will make fogburn like a clown 😅
These tip is useful until the fogborn have had enough and proceed to screw strategy and throw hand with you

I know there is already a comment about not using John, but I will add more reasoning why you should not. (You can use John but it will be harder to play as a Fogborn with the skin mainly because of these reasons:)
#1: John uses bright colors, so it makes you less stealthy and easier to see. Doing fogborn tricks with him will be harder because of that reason.
#2: When you sprint or walk with John, you can notice slight left and right movement in your view. You can see this both in 3rd and 1st person and makes it a little annoying to land a hit. (maybe cuz of john's head tilting but that's his design)
#3 : John is a bigger character than any other fogborn skin. He brings more attention to your own character rather than actually detecting and chasing your victim. It will be a lot harder to see and hit your victim mainly cuz of this reason.
But yeah, thats all the reasons why you should not use John, but again you can use him if you want but I recommend any other fogborn skins than this guy.

do you have any tips to easily kill people who always bait your foggy stare?
@@e4rtht0jay Not really, thunder warp with full stam I guess
If you ever have the opportunity you can have a bot player trigger your foggy stare and you can just go after them instead.
When someone escapes you after they bait your stare next time just warp on top of them and chase them you have enough stamina to kill a survivor don't use stare on them cuz they won't fall for it anymore
Also when you hit a survivor stop chasing for a brief moment this is to conserve stamina this will help you confirm a kill
