I use velcro to hang the reflextix in the windows. Makes it easy to take down and put back up.

I make reflective curtains out of emergency blankets. Emergency blankets are silver Mylar. Emergency blankets will let some light in but reflex the heat out. if you have vent covers you can place reflextec in the cover so you can still open vent but not have as much sum heat.

Duane I agree with using reflective products where ever you can. On our 5th wheel we used it everywhere! Windows, in the cabinets etc! Great product and not terribly expensive. That was ten years ago. Wonderful video! SAFE TRAVELS

Yes, Reflectix is great stuff Ron. I met a couple who lined all of the outside walls of their cabinets and closets with Reflectix in a Class A diesel pusher they had. They said that it really helped insulate against extreme heat and cold very well. And since it installed on the wall that was the outside wall of the coach, you would never see it unless you were looking for it. It was a cheap and effective way to increase the insulation factor in their RV.

I lower the temperature setting in the RV at night. This cools down the RV even more and it takes longer to heat back up. We also have window awnings that help. I know people who use reflectix on the windows.

Thank you for the helpful ideas. My Thor Magnitude did not come with filters for the interior AC ducts. When they arrive, I am assuming they should be placed where the air comes in and not where the cold air comes out. Or do I have this backwards?

That's right Robert. You need the filters on the intake side of the A/C. The exhaust side just sends air back out into the RV. It's the air going to the A/C unit that needs to be filtered. Thanks for watching!

Why are you talking about cooling rv's while wearing 2 shirts. Here around San Antonio, we are breaking over 100 degree consecutive days. It's really harder than you make it seem. 265B GD. Struggles all of the time. Almost needs to run 4 hours to cool. Wasted the money and 15000 btu is working perfectly. Just too hot.

Sorry to hear about the excessive heat where you are. I hope it cools off for you soon.
