@@blaqdiemenzYup, this was playing on Hot 97 in NYC the whole summer of 1999. I had just graduated High School in 98, and that's when the Doctor Doolittle movie dropped and the original version of this song was on that soundtrack. Then a few months later, I think it was even over the winter they dropped this remix I think on a DJ Clue mixtape if memory serves. But back then we popped a blank cassette tape into our boom box and simply recorded it off the radio and hoped like hell Funkmaster Flex laid off on the air horns and the talking he was known for (Flex ruined a bunch of my attempts to record 90s bangers lol). It's funny, even with all that, I would bet that if you asked anyone who was lucky enough to be alive back then if they'd rather stay with the way we've made things in the present or go back to the 80s/90s, I bet you'd have more than a few people signing up for old-school tube style TV sets that weighed a ton, paper maps and newspapers, and the FACT that the majority of our population back then didn't have some sort of mental illness, or depression diagnosis that everyone seems to be suffering with today. Shit, to a guy like me, who doesn't really care about social media or internet speed for computer video games; I'd be the first person on line to go back. The music, the vibe, everything was just so much better off back then! All we got today is a cheap ass attempt by creatively bankrupt corperations like Disney trying like hell to get you with your own nostalgia to buy their latest mid show, song, or subscription service. It's really quite annoying how much everything today is geared at getting us to spend money on mid to shit level merchandise by hooking us through our nostalgia and it's such a punk ass move that it pisses me off! Like, tell a new story every now and again and lay off all the gay stuff and maybe people will start enjoying themselves a little again, here and there. Sorry for the rant lol, but back then you at least still had a chance, nowadays unless you're already a millionaire, get ready for some lean nights ahead of us!
