This brand is the epitome of perfumery in many ways. This perfume is unfortunately discontinued now but still available, it's not gone JUST yet (March 2015).
I just received my L’intial in the inverted heart bottle and I absolutely love it and pray they don’t discontinue it again. I’m glad you love it too because I watch your videos before I purchase. Usually, if you love a scent, I will love it as well.
I'm so sad this has been discontinued! I must try to grab a bottle as soon as I can, I have wanted this since watching Thierry Wasser working on it in the BBC documentary that sparked me getting interested in perfumes in the first place!

Great video on a great perfume. Orderd a second hand one which arrived today and I'm in love. But I have doubts about the Jicky + Vanilla = Shalimar legend. Jicky is centred around lavender and I don't detect any of it in Shalimar.
I smelled the lighter version Souffle de Shalimar and I love it. My mother used to have Shalimar original. For me, Shalimar original smells like a travel to India in a bottle brang to a luxury"salon de the" in Paris.
I LOVE the original Shalimar edp! I usually tend to prefer oriental classic scents but am thinking about trying to find a bottle and blind buying it...would u recommend it to an original Shalimar lover? I dislike anything sugary :) great review as always!

I do think this one has pretty much nothing to do with the original, you really have to like Iris to like this one, it's very vintage make up smelling and nothing like the vanilla amber cloud that the original was. However, it's an amazing fragrance nonetheless and feels very luxury to me. Very hard to describe.
I also *swoon* over this perfume...every...single...time...I spay it!!! LOL It's just so fabulous! I luv luv luv it! I also have itchy fingers and probably gonna buy a couple of backups of this before it runs out. It will be a friggin' sad day when I'm on my last drop! :-(
ouch110 Fragrance Reviews Aye, and it's cheap too. Both perfumes are smelling slightly different now though. Initial is stronger, L'Eau slightly sweeter. But my nose couldn't tell the difference in a blind test.
I got me a back up of the edp, I will have to smell this one in passing when I'm next out shopping. There were so many flankers of that one it got very confusing to me haha.
I am LOVING this one right now. I am thinking I should snap up a backup while they can still be had. I'm hesitant only bc the bottle I did manage to secure was slightly damaged (scratched, scuffed and a tiny chip in the base 😦) and the seller didn't disclose so I'm not sure of the physical state of the bottles left out there.
I made sure I got a back up. I can tell this is gonna be one of those ones that even if you don't use your back up, it's gonna be valuable. There was an entire TV about it in the UK. It was so cool. I love love love this parfume so much! It's the only bottle i have finished so fast. (40 ml.) I really want to get the big size. Love the bottle! I kept the plastic on the bow..lol...so pretty! Could you compare it to the edt (with the pink bow) and to the sensual one? Thank you!

I think I'll have to get a bottle of this before it disappears from eBay. I really want to try Shalimar it sounds so amazing but the Amber... I just can't bring myself to like anything with a prominent Amber note in it. I wish I liked it I really do, and I think I would like the smell of Amber itself but it kind of stings my nose. I find it so sharp and uncomfortable which is such a shame because I know I'm missing out on so many gorgeous fragrances because of it, but anyway this doesn't have Amber in it so I'll have to snatch up a bottle which I have the chance!
+SlimjadeyMeme You find amber to be sharp? That's strange because it's usually really soft, sweet and balmy. Are you sure it's amber that's causing you the problem? Oh definitely give this one a try, it's really beautiful. Lovely lovely stuff! :)
+ouch110 Fragrance Reviews sadly yes. I bought D&G light blue because I sprayed it and thought it was beautiful and then when I got home it had turned ambery and awful on my wrist. It's not just my body chemistry either I've smelled perfumes with Amber on other people and on tester cards. My husband almost bought a "manfume" as he calls it that he liked but all I got was Amber, it's my stupid nose :(
Haha "manfume" I like that! That's a shame, because as you say..Amber is used in SO many perfumes and probably will be for a long time, it's a very good base that rounds things out.. I really hope you like the L'Agent!

It is an incredible fragrance. I am not one that would wear feminine fragrances but this one I don't mind wearing at all.

It’s been re-released! But they dropped the Shalimar and released it as just Initial! It’s the inverted crown bottle.

Its 2024 i smelled shalimar on one of my friends and i tried to find it but i failed...this beauty is gone and its sad

I just got mine today and sprayed it on one wrist. I have Initial L'eau on the other wrist and they both smell identical to me, so far.
They do? That's good news as the L'Eau one is still readily available.. :)
