Seven years in the league and he still doesn't have 100 wins. Good pitcher, but 27 mil per year is too much for a pitcher. After losing Soto the Yankees seem desperate.
Been a Braves fan all of my life and have really enjoyed watching Fried. He's a beast. If you want to see what he's made of go watch his start on Sept 27th against the Royals. It was functionally an elimination game for the Braves and he pitched his guts out. What I'm saying is that I love Max Fried and I'm really jealous of y'all. Fingers crossed on the injuries- that's my only concern with Max. I will be watching some Yankees games next year. Does that make me a fan? We'll see. Door's open.

Don't think he's a viable option, probably destined to stay with the Padres.
Let's not mess with the progress of Dominguez. Keep him in CF for now, a position he knows best. We're gonna have to blow away the Astros away with an offer. Especially with Cashman still bringing up how they cheated. The 'Yankees Tax' took a big hit with Soto walking & that's actually a plus for us.

Sign Ha-Seong Kim to play 3rd, not an eye popping bat but good K and BB rates, good baserunner and a gold glover that can move around the infield to play 2nd, 3rd and SS as needed. Doesn't seem like they know about the 72-hour special window that the Yanks can apply to MLB to discuss a long-term extension with Tucker if parties agree to the trade. 11 years 330 for Tucker. No lefty bat upcoming in the next few free agency class worth waiting for. Gil/Schmidt/Nestor + Jones + 1 more top 5 prospect should get it done.
Walker and Tucker feel like a must, belli is not as enticing as Tucker but would obviously work. After that it’s deciding second or third and I’d go third if we could afford bregman but other than him not sure who would work at third
@ what third base option do you propose other than just whining then? Bregman is the best third baseman on the market anything else would take trades and we can’t make all the trade moves we need to if we go for an outfielder through trades. Yankees started verdugo for a full year I don’t care what anyone says any player can jump around rival teams
@ 3.07 career and he averages less than a strikeout per inning. Jomboys first favorite thing is that he “fields his position”. That coming off a year where he lost 10 games and won… 11. Yes. Slightly above average.
Should have let Cole walk when he opted out. Yankees looked the gift horse right in the mouth, same way they did with Arod and then resigned him too I know it's all the same now, but typically NL pitchers havent been good in NY, but lets see. Can't cry over spilt milk, Soto is a met and theres moves to make
DO NOT TRADE LUIS GIL, Trade Rodon, Stroman and or Nestor for bats. DO NOT TOUCH LUIS GIL...that will be a massive mistake. Hes young and getting better!
I would love a trade for hoerner/bellinger but I think they are going to go with durbin at 2b. Sign walker at 1b. GO GET tucker ONLY if he signs an extension which he probably wont do unless you over pay. I also like the idea of trading for a guy like devin williams, luis robert,
We act like anybody wanted the pieces we sent to the padres outside of King. 😆 Ohhhh we gave up all these assets! Who exactly would be of medium high value other than king? Higgy was a one year thing and doesn’t apply to this
lol cope, yankees also gave up Thorpe, who was traded for Cease. and Randy V who was a solid #5 guy. So 3 starting pitchers, 2 of them being potential aces
No. Overrated at this point. If we hook with the Padres again let's Get Arraez and Cease for Schmidt, Stroman, Jazz, and either Ben Rice and/or Will Warren.
Yankees are going back to the lefties' 90s petite with fried they also need infielders like arenado and now they need an oniel in tucker or bellinger that will sure up the loss of the greatest hitter in soto queens still the king of new york
It makes the rotation impressive. But what about the bullpen help???? I hope the Yankees get Walker and either a leadoff hitter or somebody to come somewhat close to replacing Soto.
Can we try and get Ian happ He got 2 years left on his contract. He is a 3 time gold glover in Wrigley field. Switch hitter and looks like a Yankee already
A classic Cashman panic move. I expect more drastic overpayments. Fried is Rodon 2.0. Usually hurt. Not a 30 plus starter workhorse at all. I would also expect the farm system to be decimated by more bad trades for washed up position guys with high strikeout rates. Same crap for 20 years. They will never win with Cashman and Boone. Never.
Seiya has 2 years left and a full no-trade clause. plus he's a righty and only slightly better than Soto in right field. Belli and Nico would fit much better.
Hi, as a Dodger fan I think you might not like Cody Berlinger very much with his wild swings and strike outs unless of course he becomes a short porch specialist. He’s stubborn and not very coachable so you could do much better than Cody. He had a million chances to get it with the Dodgers and ended up outrighted

Hernandez is just about back to LA. Santander tho I'm down for. Dude is clutch too.
F bregman
Bregman to tankees is not happening like come on use your brain little boy
@ what third base option do you propose other than just whining then? Bregman is the best third baseman on the market anything else would take trades and we can’t make all the trade moves we need to if we go for an outfielder through trades. Yankees started verdugo for a full year I don’t care what anyone says any player can jump around rival teams
Dominguez is a top of lineup switch bat
LF, 1B and bullpen should be priority
Don’t think about anyone until those positions are filled
Santander, Christian Walker, Tanner Scott, and trade for Devin Williams
I think Walker, Belllinger and Williams
It’s crazy to see how happy these Yankees fans are for a slightly above average pitcher. They can’t get over Soto signing.
If a 2.8 ERA is average, i'll take it
@ 3.07 career and he averages less than a strikeout per inning. Jomboys first favorite thing is that he “fields his position”. That coming off a year where he lost 10 games and won… 11. Yes. Slightly above average.
Load up on pitching pick bats up at deadline
Should have let Cole walk when he opted out. Yankees looked the gift horse right in the mouth, same way they did with Arod and then resigned him too I know it's all the same now, but typically NL pitchers havent been good in NY, but lets see. Can't cry over spilt milk, Soto is a met and theres moves to make
What do you think we could get rooker for. High ops for like 2 months 2nd to judge.
Is Jimmy going full Ryan Day with the beard these days?
Ohhhh we gave up all these assets! Who exactly would be of medium high value other than king?
Higgy was a one year thing and doesn’t apply to this
lol cope, yankees also gave up Thorpe, who was traded for Cease. and Randy V who was a solid #5 guy. So 3 starting pitchers, 2 of them being potential aces
thorpe was valuable
@@Blubbluh Randy V the guy with a 1.5 WHIP? That guy?
Fair point on Thorpe. He had trade value. We’ll see if he becomes anything.
@ Numbers are inflated by 1 or 2 abysmal starts, he gave solid production as a 5 guy.
Tucker is worth an overpay. If already discussing Stros, how about Alvarez?
Thoughts on Profar?
No. Overrated at this point. If we hook with the Padres again let's Get Arraez and Cease for Schmidt, Stroman, Jazz, and either Ben Rice and/or Will Warren.
I love how there is zero talk about the contract itself. Soto is overpaid to 41 but Fried to 38 is completely fine. Yankees fans are delusional
Yankees are going back to the lefties' 90s petite with fried they also need infielders like arenado and now they need an oniel in tucker or bellinger that will sure up the loss of the greatest hitter in soto queens still the king of new york
Max is fragile. He gets injured a lot. Good luck Max.
Braves fan
Any Yankee fan saying Soto was an overpay best quiet down. Years 3-8 of this deal will be painful lol…😂
Can you guys update the spreadsheet and put it back up?
It makes the rotation impressive. But what about the bullpen help???? I hope the Yankees get Walker and either a leadoff hitter or somebody to come somewhat close to replacing Soto.
Can we try and get Ian happ
He got 2 years left on his contract.
Never.
i would strongly consider Kyle Tucker or Seiya Suzuki from the cubs both guys are on 1 year deals i know Tucker is those are options
Seiya has 2 years left and a full no-trade clause. plus he's a righty and only slightly better than Soto in right field. Belli and Nico would fit much better.
Kim for infield. Defense first, contact guy. Anti Gleyber
Not a center fielder? what about Dominguez and Grisham. We have 2 solid choices.
Back at it!
Now the Yanks need to add Christian Walker and trade for Bellinger
Hi, as a Dodger fan I think you might not like Cody Berlinger very much with his wild swings and strike outs unless of course he becomes a short porch specialist. He’s stubborn and not very coachable so you could do much better than Cody. He had a million chances to get it with the Dodgers and ended up outrighted
we got 7 pitchers we can flip two of them for a bat/arm for the pen
Team baggage needs to wipe them smiles off their faces….my heart is broken over here 💔
We r good on pitchers go get walker on a short yr deal. U can trade for Bellinger or Suzuki and send Schmidt or some of our younger pitchers. Keep gil. Cole rodon max and Gil that's a rotation
The next Andy Pettite 🙏🏻
Fried is 2-5 with a 5.10 era for his playoff career. Being left handed is the only similarity between him and Andy.
@ fair point.
Similarities are he has a great pick off move and is even better than Andy at inducing ground balls
@@nickadams6537Fried shoved in the playoffs the year they won the World Series back when he was with the Braves but I understand his playoff numbers most recently . Yankees can tap into something with him though
8 years is insane, but really good pitcher when healthy.
Weren’t getting him for less.
Long, yes. Insane, no. Top end pitchers are regularly signed into their late 30s this day and age. It's also not like he's especially unreliable health wise by today's standards. He's no certified workhorse, but he pitched a full seasons worth of innings in 5 out of the last 6 years.
braves fan here, its not that hes unhealthy, he gets finger blisters left and right. great pitcher. glad he got his bag
Three horses 🔥🔥🔥😬☝️💰💰💰
Joc Pedersen fits the bill guys. Lefty bat and a decent left field.. he's not elite but definitely a grinder
He’s a dh though
If we get Kyle Tucker, Christian Walker its over!!
