Ah, yes I remember our email conversation about this. I'm going to do a segment on all the copies of popular wallets out there, I think people would be very surprised.
I’ve used this wallet every day since 2015 (I was a Kickstarter backer) and I can only say good things about it. Wears beautifully, super compact, highly functional - best minimal wallet out there.
I never leave a comment but wanted to hop on and say thank you for all the great and honest reviews. I had been using the Ridge for the past 3 years but the money clip snapped off so, I was looking for a new option and happened to stumble across your channel a couple of weeks ago. Saw your review on the XSTO and had to get it and I could not be happier. I just now ordered the Port in the black green ghost after seeing this review. Can't wait to check it out. Thank you so much and keep up the great work, much appreciate it!
Just ordered one of these and the first thing I'm going to do is smell it! Now that I rarely carry cash, I feel like my current wallet is just too big for the few cards I carry.
Thanks for another good review. Your comments made the product interesting enough that I checked out the vendor site; very nice, lots of information, videos, and a variety of leather goods. I like that they "only use cowhide for all of our leathers, with the exception of Horween's Shell Cordovan horsehide". Thank you for introducing me to Craft & Lore.
@walletopia I thing I've watched all your wallet reviews and decided to order this one. Can't wait! Thanks for all the reviews. For such a niche topic, you are doing an incredible job and you are very entertaining.
You should really do a long term test of this one. I think it's probably the highest rated walled on the channel (deservedly so if you ask me), so it deserves one.
@@walletopia I'm surprised and happy to see you're still checking for comments on a months old video! I've been trying to start a UA-cam video series on finding the perfect wallet for myself, and between trying out wallets (the Port Wallet is probably my #1 right now) and the horrible anxiety I get from talking with my silly accent and bad english I'm still just at the first episode where I just ramble on about my old carry. Anyway, I thought I had a plan with this comment but it sort of got away from me.

I watched the video and your english/accent is fine, I didn't have any problems understanding you at all. Now, here's the question, did you intend to do this with comedic humor as part of it, or not? As I watched it, you had a series of lines which had a very entertaining, dry humor to them. How you described the different aspects of the wallet made me laugh (in a good, entertaining way). If you keep that style up with the wallets you come across, this will be a great series!😀
Thanks for all the reviews, they have helped me a lot. Have you considered doing few Top 5/10 videos series since you have done so many wallet reviews? Like Top 5 wallets under 50$ or Top 5 wallets in any price range, or Top 5 minimalist wallets etc. Since you score many wallets in similar kind of rating range it would be interesting what you view as top ones. Also a video on what type of wallet you use yourself would be cool haha Anyway, love the channel and keep it coming!
Thanks Muja, we appreciate the comments. And YES, we will be doing more of the video types you mention now that we have a nice inventory and experience with many of these wallets. Look for them soon!
Great review. And I’m with you, nothing like the smell of a top quality leather wallet. I looked at this wallet a few years ago, but opted for the Popov Cardholder wallet. Very similar in design and made from Horween leather. Handmade as well. Check with Ryan and see if he’ll float you one for review. Great product, company, and service...as I’m certain Croft and Lore are. Loving the reviews and the format.
Thanks Mike, we've reviewed Popov in the past and have their new trifold on order when they're ready to ship. We buy all the wallets we review so you can be sure it's objective :)
walletopia thanks for the reply. I’m a new subscriber, so I had to look back into your catalog. I see you did the 4 pocket billfold. I agree with you assessment. This wallet looks like it wouldn’t meet my functional requirements. I have been carrying the tried and true card wallet for a few years. Still has that great Horween Cromexel smell to this day and is perfectly broken in. I think Popov has two big winners in the cardholder and the 5 card wallet. I’m currently considering as a alternate carry the Dango D01 Dapper bilfold wallet, and really appreciate your recent review as there aren’t many. Keep up the great work!
Could the interior slot be used for a few coins (assuming it is put into pockets facing up)? I only carry 2-3 cards and a few slips of cash but would like to have a slot for coins.
It is a balance where simplicity can win the day as there's not much going on to distract the wallet from the scoring categories. Why we'll likely never see a perfect score is due to the competing requirements between quality and price. High quality will require a higher price at least due to the material, thus resulting in a high quality and low price score. Lower quality, low price facilitates a lower quality and higher price score. When balanced well, we get a wallet score like this wallet.
The score of this wallet is 42 not 44. You have 5 columns; with 5 stars. Each representing a value of 2. Your final score is 21 total stars = 42 points. Placing the Akeeni XSTO at #1. Followed by the Willow Craft Goods Luxe at #2. This is #3
Yes, we have the Aer Cardholder which is on our publishing calendar. It's a little large, but I love the material they use and the design is very functional. We'll look for more nylon wallets to review. Any you've come across besides the Aer that look interesting?
@@walletopia No unfortunately, and thats the thing. I can't find any nice nylon wallets. I'm trying to look for a nylon wallet similar in design to the anson calder cash wallet. Can't wait for the Aer Cardholder review!
Hi Brandon, I just received it and down to the packaging it’s a knockoff of the Bellroy. I plan to do a review on it and a comparison against the Bellroy. I’m intrigued about the quality as Bellroy has its own issues.
Ok, thanks. Looking forward to it. I'm trying to find a good slim wallet that can fit all my cards and has a bill pocket. Do you think Bellroy note sleeve is the best? Thanks again.
Depends on 1) how many cards you usually carry, 2) how much cash you carry and 3) how rough you are with your wallets. If you put your wallet through a lot of stress, Bellroy doesn't seem to hold up well. If you're a "normal" user Bellroy's seem to do okay. I'm doing a carry test on the Bellroy slim sleeve right now and really like the size, but most of what makes Bellroy appear nice is the thin split of their leather. It does measure in at about 1 ounce which is okay, but I believe it falls a little short on the tanning process. Regardless, on the slim sleeve I'm using the cash folds over once and fits nicely in the side, interior slot. But you can get similar fits from very nice leather options which are actually less expensive like Stock & Barrel, Saddleback, or Popov. Their leather is thicker (higher ounce quality) which will provide a longer and more durable carry experience.
Ok, thank you. I greatly appreciate your response. What about serman brands wallet? I'm looking at the bifold with a bill pocket. Sorry for all the questions. This is the last.

@@walletopia So, I bought the Anson Calder's Cash wallet, but after I saw your review of how the money sticks out, I just think it looks a little weird. I haven't tried it yet, but maybe I can fold it more? Then I saw your top 5 minimalist wallet video and found this Port Wallet. Now I'm thinking of getting the Port Wallet, but things I'm concerned about is that since it's leather, it could stretch to a point where my cards start falling out.
